Well, apparently every time I write this story, it ends up being a 3k chapter. Don’t ask me, I’m as clueless as you are.

Sooooo.. I might have gone overboard with this chapter length-wise, but teenage Violet is just so fun to write! Here’s chapter two of Queen of the Clouds. Posting it now because this Wednesday is my birthday and I’ll be busy the entire week. Hope you like it!

So… I actually started writing the au I mentioned in this post. The first chapter is mostly and introduction, but I’m almost done with chapter two and I’ll post it as soon as I can!

Picture this: final battle in Onyx Storm. Violet and the Maven are fighting, Violet goes for a killing blow with one of her daggers, the Maven pulls away in a quick movement that pushes their hood down, and when Violet raised her head, she’s looking herself. Hair, as pale as snow, eyes red as blood; her twin sister, on the other side of the war, raised by the people who got her best friend killed. End of the book. It’s crazy but imagine the chaos it would create

It just dawned on me… what if Brennan’s signet is mending because what he wanted most in the world was to help Violet with her pain? They say signets are what the rider is at their core and, despite his many flaws, Brennan loves Violet.

He grew up watching his little sister —someone he should keep safe— always in pain, always breaking, always crying, and it made him wish he could do something about it, so his signet gave him a chance to help her. Because, back then, before the venin and the Battle of Aretia, Brennan was first and foremost a brother, Violet’s brother.

Some of my crazy, unhinged theories I have about the Empyrean series because I overthink everything a little too much:

Violet is Queen Maraya’s daughter Lilith took in as some sort of deal/barging chip with Poromiel, and Catriona accusing her of “stealing her crown” is foreshadowing for her stepping in as Queen of Poromiel and stealing the crown from Viscount Tecarus (Catriona’s uncle). Plus it explains why she looks nothing like the rest of her family

Andarna doesn’t belong to an almost extinct species of dragons; she’s the goddesses of dragons who reborns whenever a chosen one needs her to defend the Known World (a sort of Phoenix in a sense)

The Maven is Violet’s twin sister. Violet is always described as being half-something; half scribe, half rider. Half weak, half strong. Even her hair is half-half; magic needs balance, so they’re both half-something without the other (said twin sister was taken by venin as a baby)

Aaric’s dragon and Andarna will be mates

Violet’s second signet is actually all the signets; just like Andarna can morph into whatever color she wants, the signet she gives her rider will also change depending on what Violet needs/wants at the moment

Brennan’s rune in his hand is actually a sort of “notice-me-not” rune that makes people not notice anything weird about him and/or ask him a lot of questions

Papa Sorrengail discovered a prophecy about Violet and that’s why he wanted her to go to the Scribes quadrant. After his death, Lilith found it between his things and sent Violet to the Riders Quadrant to protect her from said prophecy

A rider has to have all their things burned after their death because otherwise they are stuck in the mortal world as some sort of “phantom” no one can see or feel

You’re telling me people think Violet is straight? Violet “this woman is my boyfriend’s ex and she’s a bitch but she is so pretty I kinda see why he’d be into her” Sorrengail? That same Violet??? Puh-leeze

After re-reading Fourth Wing, I genuinely think Liam and Violet were soulmates. I mean it in the most strictly platonic way possible, but they were soulmates.

The way he fit right in with her, the banter, the familiarity, the love they had for each other, the loyalty that went both ways from the get-go, the calmness he brought to her stormy thoughts, the way he was the reason Violet finally manifested her signet, how Violet risked everyone knowing about Andarna’s gift to save him, how he risked everything to save her, “it’s been my honor”, how she will forever love him, and him her, the fondness and bitterness you can feel whenever Violet so much as thinks of him… soulmatism 101.

I’m so glad we got to see such a beautiful bond form and remain, despite the circumstances. It’s so heartwarming to see a man and a woman love each other so fiercely in a non-romantic way.

What if Catriona and Violet are the actual enemies to lovers romance in the series?

The fact that Violet got fucked (literally), betrayed by her boyfriend, heartbroken over losing her friend, betrayed by her dragons, hurt AND poisoned all in the same day is wild. You guys complain she’s “annoying” but I think she’s not half as annoying as she could have been. Matter of fact she should’ve set Riorson House on fire as soon as she woke up and saw HER BROTHER was fucking alive. She took it too well all things considered

We know when Xaden and Violet have children, they’re going to name their first son Liam. It’s a no-brainer.

But so will Sloane. And Garrick. And Imogen. And Bodhi. And Ridoc. And Rhiannon. And almost the entire squad.

All of them meet up for a small catch-up and bring along their children? One of the kids gets in trouble and someone screams “Liam, be careful!” Almost all the kids turn around, thinking they’re talking to them.

Liam becomes the most used name in Tyrrendor. There’s an entire generation of kids called Liam after the rebellion. Liam becomes The Name™. Everyone is Liam.

Onyx Storm theory

Violet is going to bond with Sgaeyl in Onyx Storm.

In Fourth Wing, when we first learn about Sgaeyl, Professor Kaori says:

“She even bonded the relative of one of her previous riders, which you all know is typically forbidden, but Sgaeyl does whatever she wants, whenever she wants.”

Losing a rider could kill a dragon. Sgaeyl and Tairn are mates, meaning Violet and Xaden and practically tethered for life.

Given the state Xaden is currently in, the survival of not only him, but Sgaeyl, Tairn and Violet is on the line. If one of them dies, it could kill both their dragons and, in turn, also kill the other.

But if a dragon has two riders, losing one might not affect them as much (it still would, given how important those bonds are, but it won’t be a life-or-death situation)

Xaden could “lose himself” in Onyx Storm and basically be considered a “dead man”, if not physically, figuratively. The connection between Xaden and Sgaeyl could be almost broken, as if he had actually died.

If things take a bad turn, and Sgaeyl starts to weaken over the state of her rider, Tairn could convince her to bond with Violet so she is safer.

The bond wouldn’t be as strong as Violet’s bond with Tairn and Andarna, but it would basically be a short of “bridge” between life and death for Sgaeyl, to ensure she doesn’t die over Xaden’s current state.

Idk, what do you guys think? Kinda crazy but hey, you never know.

Okay, I have to say this, and I hope no one jumps me for it: Xaden is NOT a good love interest for Violet. Sorry but he’s just too toxic, in a way Violet (and even the readers) don’t seem to notice or even acknowledge. He would never prioritize anything other than the rebellion. And as much as I understand and like that about him because it makes him a really interesting character, it also makes him a bad boyfriend.

He has too much to work on in himself before ever thinking of being in a long-term, committed relationship, and he proved it in Iron Flame. I think them breaking up and spending time apart in Onyx Storm would be beneficial for them, especially for Xaden

Bc the fandom is waaaaay too toxic. Ever since that post that called me a fake Arya stan, I’ve getting a lot of nasty anons. I had to turn off my asks for a while too bc people were telling me to kill myself which I think is way over the top over some random fictional characters. So as much as I love the story that George created, all my thoughts will be kept in my head and I won’t interact with the fandom anymore— it’s clear I’m not welcomed in here. Sorry if you followed me bc of my asoiaf content, but I really can’t keep up with this toxicity when I just wanted to make some silly posts about my favorite character
