Ok so going back to Plagueis’s repeated insistence that him and Palpatine are equal. I don’t think he’s lying to withhold power from Sidious, he’s pleading with Sidious to try keeping him from surpassing him.
So insisting that they are equals is only bc Plagueis doesn’t want the dynamic to flip. He doesn’t want Palpatine to move on without him.
