This is definitely due to the fact the my cats secretly like to disregard all the rules when they thinks we aren't home. For example, my roommate doesn't want the cats on his couch. So when he's home, they don't touch it, but if he's at work, they'll just nap there all day. Anyways, you can generally figure out who is home by which rules my cats are breaking. And if we were all home all the time, they'd absolutely be displeased about it.
