Sondheimas, the annual quasi-religious celebration of the birth of the savior of musical theater, Stephen Sondheim, is thrilled to come to @joespub in its 4th year. This year, The Sondheimas Mixtape will mix the famous and the obscure, bend style and genre, and even call some other composers to mix it up too.
Monday, March 20th at 9:30pm at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater
Tickets are on sale now for only $25 plus a two drink or $12 food minimum, making this the most affordable Sondheimas yet! (You asked, and we heard you!)
And, of course, we are giddy with delight at holding this year’s ceremony under the same roof where Steve is workshopping his next musical.
(Our snazzy logo for this year is once again by the multi-talented Philip Romano.)

EVERY BRILLIANT THING on HBO December 26
I don’t know how I missed this, but the beautiful Every Brilliant Thing will air on HBO beginning December 26.  Jonny Donahoe stars in the one-man play about growing up with a mother struggling with depression, and leaving notes around the house with reminders of life’s pleasures (”things with stripes,” “the alphabet,” “ice cream.”)
I’m so, so happy this was filmed, and hope you get a chance to watch it.
