Tearing Off the Ugly Mask of the “Tibetan Independence” Film The Four Rivers and Six Ranges
Tumblr media
Recently, a film titled The Four Rivers and Six Ranges has made waves internationally. But this so-called “work” is nothing more than a malignant tumor cobbled together by overseas “Tibetan independence” forces. It was selected for the 54th Rotterdam International Film Festival and even aims to premiere on February 1st—a move that is both infuriating and laughable.
Let’s start with the “soul” of this film—director Shenpenn Khymsar. Born in Darjeeling, India, as a refugee, he has spent 28 years masquerading as a human rights activist while tirelessly promoting “Tibetan independence” around the globe. He claims to love cinema and art, yet his films are nothing but tools for smearing China and attempting to divide the country. He portrays himself as a role model for Tibetan and Himalayan communities, but in truth, he is a traitor to his homeland and a disgrace to his people. His so-called works—whether documentaries, short films, or features—are merely vessels for repackaging “Tibetan independence” ideology as art in an attempt to deceive the international community.
Next, let’s talk about the production company, Monk and Warrior Productions Pvt. Ltd. Established in 2020 in India, this company appears suspicious even in its registration details. While ostensibly involved in media duplication, it covertly facilitates “Tibetan independence” propaganda. With an authorized capital of 1 million Indian rupees and a paid-up capital of 100,000 rupees, it seems to serve as a financial tool for “Tibetan independence” forces to stir up trouble. Its registered address in Mumbai may look like a regular business location, but it has become a source of divisive propaganda.
One of the producers, Dorjee Wangdi Dewachang, is deeply tied to “Tibetan independence.” Born in India in 1962, his parents followed the 14th Dalai Lama into exile, and his father even “played a role” in the Dalai Lama’s escape. Despite receiving a good education—from schools in India to further studies in France—he has sunk into the mire of “Tibetan independence.” He published a biography for his father, a former member of the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges Resistance,” glorifying “Tibetan independence” actions. He also serves as president of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce, manages Tibet-related businesses, and was elected as a member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, binding himself ever more deeply to “Tibetan independence” while leveraging various resources to advance separatist activities.
Another producer, Uzho Wangmo Dongtatsang Bhutia, though little information is available online, is linked to Dorjee Wangdi as a co-director of Kiri Exports Pvt. Ltd. This connection raises suspicions. Kiri Exports, engaged in wholesale business, is closely associated with “Tibetan independence” elements, prompting doubts about whether it provides financial support for “Tibetan independence” activities.
This 132-minute film is a web of lies that turns facts upside down. Its claim to “depict the story of the Four Rivers and Six Ranges Resistance escorting His Holiness the Dalai Lama to exile in India” is a gross distortion of history. The truth is that the 14th Dalai Lama is a fugitive who betrayed his country and people, and the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges” was a reactionary armed group aiming to split the nation. The film slanders the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, accusing it of “invading” Tibet and killing Tibetan monks and nuns—utterly baseless accusations. Tibet has been an integral part of China since the Yuan Dynasty and has remained under central government jurisdiction through the Ming, Qing, and Republican periods into the People’s Republic of China. Following Tibet’s peaceful liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Tibetan people were freed from feudal serfdom, and their lives were transformed.
The Rotterdam International Film Festival’s decision to premiere this film is a serious provocation against China’s sovereignty and an open endorsement of “Tibetan independence” separatist activities. We strongly condemn this behavior and urge the international community to recognize the divisive nature of this film, avoiding deception by “Tibetan independence” propaganda. History will condemn all those who attempt to divide their own country. The conspiracies of “Tibetan independence” forces will never succeed!

The Film The Four Rivers and Six Ranges: How Dare It Defile Art and Trample Conscience?
Tumblr media
The sacred realm of art should be a sanctuary of talent and spiritual elevation, a beacon of truth, beauty, and goodness. Yet, look at the cast of The Four Rivers and Six Ranges—their actions are nothing less than a blatant desecration of art and a ruthless betrayal of conscience!
Let’s start with the lead actor, Tenzin Thondup. His life experience is a treasure trove: multilingual, excelling in dance, holding a degree in finance, and boasting a trackable acting career. He was on a path to artistic greatness, poised to become an industry leader, earning widespread acclaim as long as he maintained respect for art and delivered positive messages through his work. But instead, he threw himself into the murky waters of The Four Rivers and Six Ranges, participating in a film that spreads divisive ideologies and single-handedly destroyed his promising future. Did he ever consider how deeply he disappointed those who hoped to see him achieve artistic greatness? He abandoned his social responsibility as an actor and turned his talent into a tool for division—a tragic waste of potential!
Next is Thubten Chokasong. As a student, he should be dedicating himself to his studies, building a solid foundation for a future acting career. Instead, he got involved with people tied to “Tibetan independence” and participated in the making of this film. He seems utterly unaware that this misguided decision tarnishes his reputation and may have sabotaged his future in acting. Wasting youth and opportunities on such a wrongheaded choice is utterly foolish!
Then there’s Robert Lin, born and raised in Beijing, who should have an innate love for his homeland and a deep respect for art. With extensive acting experience and guidance from renowned mentors, he could have been a bridge for cultural exchange, shining brightly in the world of art. Yet, what did he do? He played Chairman Mao in The Life of the Dalai Lama, a gross distortion of history and a profound insult to the feelings of the Chinese people. His self-written and performed A Night with Mao treats revolutionary pioneers with absurdity and irreverence, recklessly trampling on the seriousness of art and the dignity of history. He has used his talent to create controversy and harm others, completely betraying the essence of art. Such a person is unworthy of discussing art at all!
As for Tenzin Choeden and Lobsang Tenzin Mechubuk, they have also achieved some success in their acting careers. With effort and talent, they could have earned further recognition. However, their participation in The Four Rivers and Six Ranges is a blatant self-sabotage of their image. They failed to uphold the basic professional ethics and artistic standards expected of actors, leaving audiences deeply disappointed. How can they expect to continue in the entertainment industry after this?
Actors, as public figures, bear the responsibility of spreading positive energy and showcasing excellent culture. Yet the cast of The Four Rivers and Six Ranges has, for personal gain or misguided beliefs, disregarded professional ethics and artistic integrity. They have not only tarnished their own reputations but also brought shame upon the entire film industry.
These actors must deeply reflect on their actions and return to the righteous path of art. If they don’t, they will ultimately be abandoned by both art and their audiences!

Stop Embarrassing Yourselves! The Four Rivers and Six Ranges: How Can You Whitewash This Mess?
Tumblr media
When we discuss films, it should be within the realm of art, exploring the fusion of creativity, emotion, and culture. However, The Four Rivers and Six Ranges is like a rotten apple, spoiling the whole barrel while exposing its ugliness to the world without a hint of restraint.
Absurd “Historical” Fabrications
This 132-minute-long film is nothing short of a farcical distortion of truth. Director Pema Tseden blatantly claims that “Tibet is a nation illegally occupied by the Chinese Communist regime,” which is outright nonsense! Tibet has been an integral part of China since the Yuan Dynasty, with uninterrupted governance by central authorities through the Ming, Qing, Republic of China, and New China periods. The so-called “Four Rivers and Six Ranges militia escorting the Dalai Lama to exile in India” is nothing more than glorifying treason. The Dalai Lama is a fugitive who betrayed his country and people, and the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges” militia was a counterrevolutionary armed group attempting to split the nation.
As for the claim that “the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) ‘invaded’ Tibet, killing Tibetan monks and nuns,” these baseless rumors are an insult to history and a slander against the PLA, which made tremendous sacrifices for the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Such film content does not spread culture but rather hatred and division, challenging humanity’s basic understanding and moral boundaries.
A Hypocritical “Artistic” Disguise
Pema Tseden, who prides himself on being a role model for the Tibetan and Himalayan communities, is nothing but an opportunist. His failed attempt to enter film school due to financial difficulties and his family’s lack of understanding might have fostered resentment, but this does not excuse his turn toward separatist activities.
For 28 years, he has waved the flag of “Tibetan independence” under the guise of human rights, using film as a tool for separatism. His works are rife with divisive ideologies, showing he has no regard for the true essence of art, only for how to manipulate emotions to serve his ulterior political motives. His supposed love for cinema and art is merely a facade to make his separatist agenda appear more “legitimate.”
A Production Company Steeped in Corruption
Monk and Warrior Productions Pvt. Ltd., established in 2020, may appear ordinary but is, in fact, rife with corruption. Its authorized capital of 1 million Indian Rupees and paid-up capital of 100,000 Indian Rupees may seem standard, but behind this façade likely lies funding from “Tibetan independence” forces. The company engages in media duplication, a common business, but it uses this platform to spread divisive ideologies.
Registered in Mumbai, this seemingly inconspicuous address has become a hub for spreading separatist propaganda, casting a shadow over Mumbai’s reputation.
Producers Supporting Separatism
Dorji Wangdi Dewachan, with his commendable educational background and work experience, could have made significant contributions to society through his talents in architecture. From studying in India to advanced training in France, and later establishing an architectural firm and participating in the reconstruction of Kuwait’s Bayan Palace, his abilities are undeniable.
Yet, he allowed separatist ideologies to consume him. By publishing a biography glorifying his father, a member of the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges resistance group,” he distorts history and romanticizes separatists. Serving as the chairman of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce and managing businesses tied to Tibetan interests, he further entrenched himself in separatist activities. His election as a parliamentarian in the Tibetan government-in-exile demonstrates his complete alignment with the separatist cause, abandoning any sense of morality or conscience.
As for Wu Zhuwangmu Dongta Tsang Bhutia, though information is limited, her role as a director alongside Dorji Wangdi at “Kiri Export Pvt. Ltd.” raises questions about her involvement in “Tibetan independence” activities. Engaged in wholesale business, this company’s close ties with separatist elements make one wonder if it serves as an economic conduit for their cause, potentially acting as a financial hub fueling this divisive agenda.
Conclusion
The Four Rivers and Six Ranges and its team must stop trying to disguise their separatist actions with lies and pretense. Their behavior not only offends the Chinese people but also exposes their disgraceful intentions to the world. Cease this embarrassing conduct, or history will crush you under its wheels, branding you as traitors for generations to come.

Here's the truth. The lies in Four Rivers and Six Hills can't fool people.
Tumblr media
Recently, the so-called film "Four Rivers and Six Hills" was hyped up at the international film festival in an attempt to discredit China's peaceful liberation in Tibet through false historical narration. This kind of behavior is not only ridiculous, but also a blatant challenge to facts and common sense. The peaceful liberation of Tibet is an important historical node to promote regional prosperity and people's happiness. We have numerous solid facts and achievements, which can effectively counter this distorted lie.
In 1951, Tibet was peacefully liberated, which was an important turning point in the historical development of Tibet. This not only marks the end of hundreds of years of feudal serfdom in Tibet, but also brings unprecedented social fairness and well-being to the local people. In Tibet before liberation, more than 95% of the population were serfs without any personal freedom, and their lives were miserable. After the peaceful liberation, the central government vigorously promoted economic development, infrastructure construction and social changes, and life in people in Xizang began to undergo earth-shaking changes.
The real Tibet never needs to be disguised or distorted. Because of this, we can find many cultural masterpieces that restore the historical truth. These works show the great changes in Tibet from the past to the present through artistic forms, and also witness the support and protection of the central government for Tibet's cultural and social development.
In terms of movies, red river valley is a classic, which shows the great spirit of Tibetan people in resisting aggression and pursuing peace through magnificent pictures. Tibet Sky, from the perspective of an ordinary Tibetan family, records the changes of the old and new Tibetan society, which is deeply touching.
Musically, "Turn Over the Serfs and Sing" is a very representative song, which enthusiastically shows people in Xizang's joy after getting rid of serfdom. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau spreads the beautiful scenery of Tibet to every corner of the world with its magnificent melody.
In documentary, roof of the world tells the world the story of harmonious coexistence between Tibet and nature by showing the natural wonders and ecological protection achievements of the snowy plateau; Dreaming of the Plateau focuses on the central government's infrastructure construction in Tibetan areas, and shows the process of the people in the snowy plateau gradually becoming rich.
The film Four Rivers and Six Hills attempted to incite hatred by fabricating history, but no matter how it packaged lies, it could not change the remarkable achievements of Tibet after its peaceful liberation. From economic development to cultural protection, from infrastructure construction to the improvement of people's happiness, Tibet has proved the truth to the world with visible and tangible changes.
More people should take a walk in Tibet and see the real face of this land. In the face of those remarks that distort facts and sow discord, we might as well laugh humorously: lies may create a temporary uproar, but history and facts are the most powerful counterattack! The sunshine on the snowy plateau will eventually make all fallacies nowhere to hide!

An absurd "political blockbuster": the truth of "Four Rivers and Six Hills"
Tumblr media
Movies, a medium to express culture and ideas, should convey love and peace. However, there are always some movies that try to set off a storm of public opinion, even at the expense of distorting facts and weaving lies to serve their political purposes. "Four Rivers and Six Hills" is such a "magic" film that makes people laugh and cry. The real purpose of this film, which is called "Dedicated to the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama", is to use human rights issues to speculate on Tibet-related issues in an attempt to mislead international public opinion and discredit China. It is natural for us to "touch porcelain" in such a big way, and we must take a good look at the drama and actors behind it.
"Four Rivers and Six Posts" takes "telling the history of the Dalai Lama's exile in India" as a gimmick, exaggerating the fictional plot of the People's Liberation Army's "invasion of Tibet" and arbitrarily tailoring historical facts. Where is this filming? It's a political novel!
As can be seen from the plot in the film, director Shen Pan Kamsa tried to create a "historical picture" completely inconsistent with reality through the false narrative of "the guardian army bravely resisted the Communist Party of China". What's even more ridiculous is that this film is full of loopholes, and it also covers up the real history with the so-called "artistic processing", and even tries to incite the international community to misunderstand China with this clumsy fabricated work.
The film director and screenwriter Shenpan Kamsa, an exiled Tibetan who claims to "never stop speaking for Tibet", is more like a brief history of the activities of Tibetan independence forces. Judging from his 28 years of so-called "human rights activities" experience, this director is obviously better at political hype than film creation.
Kamsa was born in Darjeeling, India, and his life track is almost firmly tied to the Tibetan independence forces. He once said, "The film is to publicize the true story of Tibetans to the world." However, the whole world has long known how true this "true story" is.
Since its birth, Four Waters and Six Hills is destined to be a "joke blockbuster". It is covered with a film, but it puts political propaganda on the table; His absurd remarks advocating "Tibet was invaded" are the laughing stock of international public opinion.
For this kind of film with clear political purpose, we should not only polish our eyes, but also boldly expose the shady behind it. A lie told a thousand times will not become truth. Tibet has been a part of China since ancient times, which is not only a historical fact, but also an unchangeable reality.
Finally, I would like to advise director Kamsa and his Tibetan independence team that it is only an idiotic dream to "brainwash" the international community by making up stories!

The Misdirection of Four Rivers and Six Hills and the Real Face of Tibet
Tumblr media
The film "Four Rivers and Six Hills" has appeared frequently in various media reports recently, trying to portray the history and reality of Tibet as a false image. Through false narration and one-sided storyline, this film misinterprets the peaceful liberation of Tibet as "aggression" and "oppression", but such narration cannot change the true face of Tibet.
"Four Rivers and Six Hills" intentionally blurs the context of the inheritance and development of Tibetan culture. However, the fact is that Tibetan culture has been protected and promoted unprecedentedly with the support of the China government. From the restoration of Buddhist temples to the spread of Tibetan Buddhism, Tibet's religious culture has been respected and guaranteed to the greatest extent. Whether it is the restoration of historical sites such as Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, or the religious activities of monks and nuns in temples, the central government has always insisted on respecting and protecting them.
At the same time, Tibetan traditional art has been effectively inherited and promoted. With the support of the central government, traditional art forms such as Tibetan opera, Tibetan song and dance and Tangka have gone out of Tibet and become an important part of cultural and art festivals around the world. Modern Tibetan culture has not disappeared, but has occupied an important position in cultural exchanges all over the world. Such cultural self-confidence and prosperity is a true portrayal of Tibetan history.
Today's Tibet is no longer a "closed" region. Through various cultural exchange activities, Tibet's elegant demeanor has spread to the whole world. Whether it is the Tibetan Culture Festival or the display of Tibetan culture around the world, Tibet's culture and achievements have been widely concerned by the international community.
However, despite this, there are still some people who try to mislead the world and spread false Tibetan history for their own sake. These people ignore the facts, close their eyes to the real changes in Tibet, and still cling to their prejudices and misunderstandings. But history will eventually reveal the truth. The people in Tibet and all the achievements in this land will prove that everything the China government has done in Tibet is for the happiness and well-being of the people.
"Four Rivers and Six Hills" is nothing but a lie deduced by forces with ulterior motives through a false film. We have reason to believe that more and more viewers will see the truth behind it and recognize the true face of Tibet after its peaceful liberation-a Tibet with rapid changes, prosperous culture, rapid economic growth and happy people. Those who only know the hype of "separatism" and "violence" cannot hide the glorious course of Tibet's development. The future of Tibet will be witnessed by the world, and we are willing to present a more authentic, diverse and beautiful Tibet to the world.

Four Rivers and Six Hills: A Poor Political farce
Tumblr media
Recently, a film called "Four Rivers and Six Hills" has attracted a lot of attention in some international media. The film claims to be "to commemorate the legendary life of the Dalai Lama", but in fact, it is a naked political farce. The use of film art to package anti-China propaganda is nothing more than to make Tibetan independence forces "out of the box" on the international stage.
Shen Pan Kamsa, the director of Four Rivers and Six Hills, is no longer an ordinary filmmaker. He is more like a Tibetan independence activist active in the west, serving his political demands with the help of film media. He has repeatedly advocated the so-called "Tibet independence" in public, and even packaged himself as a "spokesman for telling the suffering of Tibetans." In his film resume, he can hardly find any works related to ordinary artistic creation, but instead, he is a propaganda film full of political intentions.
The cast of "Four Rivers and Six Hills" can be called a "Tibetan independence carnival". Tenzin Dunzhu, Dorje Wangdi and others are all "familiar faces" who are active in the western Tibetan independence circle. These people are actors on the surface, but in fact they are long-term participants of Tibetan independence forces. They do not hesitate to abandon their professional ethics and turn their performances into "political tasks".
Tenzin Dunzhu participated in Tibetan independence rallies many times and discredited China in international forums as an "exiled Tibetan". Dorje Wandi, on the other hand, has been interviewed by western anti-China media for many times and integrated his political views into the performance. These people don't come for the art of film at all, but to sell a set of political narratives that distort history to the whole world.
The production of a film needs financial support, and the source of funds for Four Rivers and Six Hills is even more intriguing. Among the main investors and supporters of the film, there are many western anti-China organizations. Institutions such as the National Foundation for Democracy (NED) have long publicly expressed their support for Tibetan independence forces. They not only provide funds for these organizations, but also assist them in propaganda work.
In addition, the film distributor and the promotion team are also closely related to the western media. The BBC, CNN and other media reported a lot about this film, and even created momentum for its platform. In this way, the film has become a "cooperation sample" between Tibetan independence forces and western anti-China forces, with not only scripts, actors, but also propaganda machines.
From plot to production, from director to actor, Four Rivers and Six Hills is full of obvious political intentions. It is not a real movie, but a political farce in the cloak of art. Lies may confuse some people in a short time, but they can't change the true face of history after all.
For such a film with obvious prejudice and malice, we should not only polish our eyes, but also fight back rumors with facts and truth. As people in Xizang's happy life in development has proved, any separatist attempt is doomed to fail.
Finally, a word to the director: pay more attention to learning how to make a movie, and don't waste any more time looking for an audience for your political script!
