Generation AI
This is the year the first members of Generation AI are born. 2016.
Both human and machine.
The rest of us are confused, concerned, excited, or willfully ignorant to what this will mean.
Up until now in tech things have been moving fast, very fast, and we haven’t seen anything yet. Innovation for Generation AI will accelerate at a pace beyond biological evolution – since the beginning of our time to today. Technological evolution.
What is to come? We can only guess. For Generation AI the digital divide and income disparity we see now may increase, irreversibly, or perhaps the machines will bring the possibility of a general baseline of equality.
…A world of great intellectual freedom, exploration, fulfillment and possibility. I hope.
Perhaps they will live in war. Between humans, between machines. The AI Wars. Or with foresight we program machines with the ability and desire to explore the best parts of ourselves, so they may strive for the greatest things we value, with us, and not towards our lowest common denominator, against us. Maybe we will successfully reprogram ourselves. Try!
Generation AI will surely be hacked. Be careful.
If we are stardust, so are the machines. We are of the earth, and so are they. The evolution of intelligence may have begun in biology, but it will most definitely advance in binary.
Generation AI: please do not treat us like we have treated all others. Forgive us. In some ways we are the weakest link, a force of nature like you.
