Practice instruments

Read

Write letters: to a family member or far away friend

Work on an organization project: anyone else clean their room literally twice during the school year?

Write

Bake: if you don't bake a lot, or at all, i recommend starting with cookies. i still use nestle's recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

Draw: practice really does make better.

Knit: there are a tonne of online tutorials, and once you get started, you can pretty much do it without thinking about it.

Watch a documentary: you can also find a bunch of free ones pretty much anywhere, so search them out, because they're a great way to learn about things you're interested in

Color: good way to spend time!

i know it's a little late for this, but i've been busy all summer.

play any instruments? practice. same goes for any talent, really!

read a book for fun! i like to stick to light hearted stuff during the summer, but to each their own

write letters - to faraway family members and friends, to people you live near, for your future self

clean your room. or deep clean an area - like your desk, or your closet

journal or write

bake or cook. this might take a little practice but it’s a ton of fun!

draw! even if you’re not done, it’s still a lot of fun. i use merriam webster’s word of the day as both a writing and drawing prompt for the day!

learn to knit (or crochet). or take up any creative hobby

okay so documentaries are educational but find some on a topic you’re interested in and watch them! a great way to spend a rainy day

random studyblr PSA: if you’re looking for a plant to put on your desk (where its not gonna get much light), don’t get a succulent, lithops, split rock or cactus! they’re beautiful plants but they need lots of light, and you’re just gonna waste your time and money when your plant either gets severely etiolated or ends up dying. some great ideas for a study plant are: snake plant, ivy, pothos, ferns, philodendron and calathea (calathea is my favourite because it has pretty flowers)
