Quick self-promo thing if you like me lol
I made a ko-fi account! There’s obviously no obligation for anyone to “tip” me for the things I make, I just thought I’d put it out there! Video edits and gifs are so much fun to make, and it would be cool to make higher quality ones, but that involves affording better programs so 😅 But again no obligations!
Love y’all to the moon and to Saturn!

It's too bad the writing in the last few episodes dragged because Matt blew me away in The Sinner.

I love that people are still discovering White Collar and falling in love with it. It helps that it's aged so much better than a lot of shows from that era. The cast chemistry is unmatched. It's beautifully shot in NYC. Everything is charming. Even the little moments of cringe are pure nostalgia. #White Collar is my happy place #an angel gets its wings every time White Collar gains a new fan #i don't believe in angels though #White Collar you'll always be famous #Neal Caffrey #Mozzie #Burke's Seven #characters welcome
okay so I’ve started watching white collar and I am loving it
right off the bat, you see two characters who show plenty of intelligence, and neal has extensive charisma, then as the episode progresses you’re dumped into the middle of their relationship, that seems to be a lot more personal and casual than you would expect from an agent and a criminal. like, those two read each other’s minds at points in the first episode and you as the audience have very little backstory and understanding of it. at times it felt like you the watcher is a voyeur not the audience where the story grows with you and holds your hand.
then you see rather quickly that neal is a flirt even when not manipulating for his benefit, and having met diana, you might expect it to go the classic way of those two get very into each other. except no, you get hit with peter saying she isn’t and won’t be interested in neal and you have a moment to think “oh she probably has a boyfriend or husband then” before you’re hit with “she’d rather be wearing that hat” and you see neal’s reaction and for those of us who are queer we go “oh my god is she a lesbian?!” and the show /commits/ to it, going on to reference the military and it’s don’t ask don’t tell policy and that damn well confirms it, and it’s not that often that a show will confirm a character’s sexuality as homosexual so early on unless it ends up being central to that character (I’m thinking of SWAT for that). which puts neal and peter’s relationship and almost-mind-reading level of communication that’s been shown up in the first two episodes and now I can’t help but wonder if they become canon in the future
then I met Elizabeth, peter’s wife, and she’s shown to be incredibly witty and smart right off the bat as well and seemingly taking peter’s work (and relationship with neal???) in stride with the ease and confidence of someone who knows that they are loved abd feeling very secure in their relationship. I’m used to in cop/fbi/procedural dramas where anytime a wife/spouse shows up it’s to immediately make it clear that the character is married to their work by making the spouse mad or sad. white collar hasn’t done that (yet, I’m only a few episodes in) so I’m also in love with Elizabeth’s character. I wheeze-laughed when she had their dog eat her husband’s dinner when he confirmed he wasn’t gonna be home for dinner.
anyways, I’m loving the show so far and really hope it keeps going good like this for at least 2 seasons

This gives me all of the good feels.
There was context to this, but it feels even dumber to explain than it is to share the product of that particular set of circumstances, so

*gasp* Is that a throwaway line I spot?
It sure is!
I love overanalyzing throwaway lines. It's my favorite.
So here's a fic I wrote, inspired by this one little line in an episode of White Collar.

One of my favorite things about white collar is actually mozzie’s relationship with the fbi
Like. Neal being friends with people at the fbi is a fun dynamic cause yeah he’s a criminal and he’s smug about it but he’s also really helpful and they’re a little family and they banter and it’s all great
But mozzie is just straight up. a criminal. They’ve never arrested him or anything but like. And he’s an insane conspiracy theorist and thinks all kinds of weird stuff especially about the government. But he’s Neal’s bestie and he lowkey helps even though he hates the feds so they just kinda keep him around but not really. Like he’s just there.
Mozzie is the real “confidential informant,” Neal is basically an imprisoned fbi agent with a criminal history. Mozzie is the one with connections who ends up helping them despite hating the government. It’s just so funny
This post was prompted by rewatching that episode with Gordon Taylor in season three, when they pull up the picture of Taylor and his crew and mozzie is in it and the whole New York white collar division just goes “oh come on, mozzie?” “Guys that’s mozzie” “oh shut up no way” “you have to be kidding me” and Peter is like “yes, yes, it’s mozzie” like his name just exists in the fbi and he’s as chill about it as he is with anything he’s paranoid about which is everything
Like they see a picture of a criminal crew, they recognize one of the criminals, and their first reaction isn’t to immediately start looking into what they know about the guy but just to groan like a family member just said a lame joke

That’s not the way you walk in real life, is it? Neal Caffrey is one of the few characters on television where you would remark on the way he walks.
No, my god. I wish I was that kind of peacock. Yeah, I locked myself in our guest room for about – I would say like 2 or 3 weeks working on that. And then I would walk around my block and the house. I only had one suit to my name when I got this job – maybe two. And I would put it on and walk around my block. I’m sure I looked like a complete loon in L.A. But I would walk around just figuring out how he moved through the world. We hadn’t even filmed the pilot, but I knew a lot of it was going to play in masters and us walking around together, so I figured I should figure out that part of his physicality. - Matt Bomer [13:00]
