I was upset today for some reason. I had no will to do anything at all this morning. I studied a bit in afternoon. I also did a HIIT workout today. I feel awful not being able to study as much I need to. Everyday just goes by.

I need you to understand that taking a day off from studying is completely fine and even good for you. You know how you need to have rest days from working out to let your muscles repair themselves so you can keep getting better at what you do. Well, your brain needs rest as well so you can keep improving in your academic life. Rest is good and it shouldn't be seen as something unproductive and useless when it's very much needed and part of the learning process. The academic community needs to understand that taking days off is good for you.

Think about why you love your friends. What comes to mind first? It probably isn't things like "I love how they have a job" or "I love how they get good grades." Instead you might be thinking about their compassion, their sense of humor, their perspective, their passion, their values, their mindset/attitude or their intelligence. So don't let yourself or anyone else reduce your worth to your productivity alone. We're all far more than that!

Proving that studying is different for everyone:
You’ve heard all of these study tips at least once:
Rewriting notes
Rewrite your notes
Don’t rewrite your notes
Night studying
Revise before you go to sleep
Don’t study at all at night
Morning Studying
Always study in the morning
Never study in the morning
Where to study
Study on your desk
Study in the library, always
Study in the most comfortable spot
Breaks
Take short productive breaks
Take short fun breaks
Take longer productive breaks
Take longer fun breaks
Never take breaks during a study session
Snacks
Always have a snack on hand
Don’t ever have a snack, they’ll distract you
Snacks are only for breaks
Junk food motivates you
Eat only healthy foods when studying
Reward yourself with a piece of candy after each page
Music
Always listen to music
Never listen to music
Listen to a certain kind of music when studying for each subject
Listen to music with lyrics
Listen to music without lyrics
Time
One hour intervals
25 minute intervals
Sleep Schedule
Sleep early, wake up at a normal time
Wake up at 4 am always
All nighters or nothing!
Never pull all nighters
This goes to show that you have to find what works for you, every study tip you’ll ever find will contradict itself!!!
Feel free to add some of your own in the reblog :)

Not-so-lazy Saturday afternoon. On today's menu: just the entirety of nephrology (and hypertension)
Really need to bury myself in my books...
If I studied harder earlier, I wouldn't have to go through entire fields/specialities per day to finish the topics in time, but oh well, let's work with what I have

Kickstarted my day at 5 am. It felt great! I learnt protein metabolism and purine synthesis. I feel a little guilty for ignoring anatomy though. It's been a week I haven't studied anatomy.

Reading basics of cardiovascular physiology.
I don't like highlighter pens. I have only one and that's a gel textliner. And I'm pretty sure that's going to last an eternity.

I just found my diary I used during pre med. It has still a lot of empty pages so I'm going to use it again for scheduling my tasks everyday!

It's so true that it hurts 😔
in college there are only two moods:
1. i can do this! after outlining everything i need to do, it doesn’t seem so bad. in fact it’s very methodical and easy to follow and i can do it.
2. oh my god its happening. its the end for me. i might as well be dead. everything is due now. i was put on this earth to suffer. i have two essays due in 45 seconds and all ive eaten today is half a goldfish cracker. i can only feel pain
also these moods go back and forth every hour
