No impairment for Technology

Chieko Asakawa was the speaker for this ted talk which was: How new technology helps blind people explore the world

This ted talk is about how the speaker who is a blind woman named Chieko Asakawa, who has been blind since the age of fourteen aspired to create a new way for blind people to be more self reliant. Although there have been many ways for blind people to get by, but those have been always with the help of another person. Chieko talks about how she has always wanted to have a way where she can be independent. This technology is where an app can tell you where to take a turn and when to walk through a door. It is a form of guidance so that the blind person knows where to go. This technology tells you of your surroundings like if a person comes up to you, you are able to tell what the expression on their face is.

This is very much alike to the theme of my blog because my them is Technology Advances which is exactly what Chieko was talking about in this video. Except this video is much more than any technology advancement because it is very helpful for those who are blind.It goes further than just any regular advancement of technology because it could be very helpful to so many people who are in the same conditions as Chieko.

This type of video is very different from the Digital nation video we watched in the beginning of this class. In the digital nation there was a part of the video where it shows little kids non stop watching video games for several hours without stopping. I find it incredible how some peoples use of technology can have such a negative impact while others use of technology can have a positive impact, like it is in this case. The negative use obviously being those little kids playing video games nonstop, and the positive impact is the technology that Chieko has invented for blind people like her. I have learned by this that technology is neither good nor bad, it is the way that people use technology that is good or bad.

This talk shows me what I can expect from technology in the future. It is nice to see a positive way in which technology can affect the world. I hope that the new technology that comes continues down the same path. This really inspires me to look for the good in the world, and create good for the world if their isn’t any. Chieko shows us that it doesn’t matter what kind of impairments you may have as long as you have will you ca achieve anything you set your mind to.

1. The first step to monetizing your blog can be, becoming affiliated in order for your work to be seen by a variety of more people. It isn’t as simple as just posting blogs, you have to make your blog known in order to rise above and get what you deserve.

2. The second way can be by selling some kind of product of your own, which can make your blog more known, and at the same time you will be making money from what you are selling. By offering your services it adds a lot of interest to the blog.

3. Having relevant information to express is a must. Along with your services or products, you may have to thoroughly examine what your posts are and how well they will be presented with the rest of the things that you have to offer on your blog,

4. Next you can make sure to be connected on various social media so that you can share your blog, and that way it can be able to reach many people. This can be very resourceful because not everyone is on the same social media cites.

5. You have to remember that this takes persistence, it is easy to give up on the first try. In order to meet your goal be persistent and keep going.

In the Article it talks about Sharing Blogs through the use of social media,and they have come to see that word press has an all in one social share button so that blogs can be shared to all social media in one click. Depending on what social media site people are on they will be able to share the blog from whichever one they may be on. Wizard will quickly tell you how to get everything set up and organized to your liking. In the end it is all for the price of nineteen dollars.

I thought this article was very relevant, especially in today’s day in age where there is many people who are constantly on social media. It is probably one of the most effective ways for something to be spread and go viral. Although there is a price to all that social media sharing, for those who really want it, it may be considerably useful for them.

Technology lives?

I find the question of technology wanting something very interesting. There is different ways of looking at this type of question because of how much technology has advanced, it is almost like it is taking over and that is relevant to the question “What does technology want?” A lot of us may have asked ourselves this question already, just maybe not with those particular words. It could be just a sense of realization how advanced technology is today and how much it has grown overtime. One could be thinking about how the world will be in the future if technology continues this way.

The evolution of technology is incredible,I never thought it would come so far, so fast. Technology has a mixture of both good and evil, I don’t think it’s possible for this to be one sided. There are many aspects contributing to technology that lead it to one side or the other. For example social media can be both good and bad, depending on the way that people use it. Some people use it to communicate with family and friends while others use it to spread hate and negativity. There are various other examples like this that contribute to the bad and the good.

The evolution of technology has come so far that I think it could be able to be driven by a larger force of nature if it grows enough, but for now I don’t think it has come to that extent.

I don’t think that it is possible for inanimate things to make decisions based on “emotion because they have no emotion.

The questions were very reliable, because it is good to monitor children when they are in use of the internet. These questions may be able to open up parents eyes to focus more on what their children are doing. It could help to put a limit on how much time they should be on the internet. Some children become too invested so that when they aren’t on the internet it affects them.

I have never thought about my “digital legacy”, I have never even heard of anything like this until now. I had no idea that some social media sites like facebook had a deceased user policy. I have never been personally affected by this.

Social Media can make it easier for a Blogger to spread their blog so that it can reach more people. I had not planned to use social media tools on my blog, but I think it could be useful to spread the word.

“Journalism”Today

Citizen Journalism can be defined by the people who inform and express information especially through the use of the internet.

The cons of Citizen Journalism can range from inaccurate information to disputes and disagreements, because sometimes the information that is given isn’t completely accurate. In this day in age many sources on the internet can be inaccurate because of the misleading information that is being received. When it comes to disputes and disagreements, they can also be seen as pros because, it isn’t always bad to disagree, that can be a way to create a discussion and, we can see how many different opinions people have towards a subject. This leads to one of the biggest pros which would be the expansion of the ability to receive information. With so much technology today it is likely that we can all be up to date of what is happening in the world.Blogging connects to this because it can be one of the ways in which citizens communicate information.

I don’t think that Citizen Journalism has ever impacted my community, the nation, a global level or even myself personally. This is at least as far as I know to where Citizen Journalism has come across.

I think that I can be able to envision myself as a Citizen Journalist because there are times when I am able to express what I think about about something that is occurring, even through social media.

Technology Advances

My title and theme aren’t referring to just Technology Advancing from today’s date but throughout many years in general. It could be a sense of technology from generation to generation where one can be able to see how technology advanced and how different it was for people back in the day vs. now.

 I think the target audience could be various people who are curious or interested in how technology has changed our lives, both positively and negatively. I would like to create this blog to show people how times have really changed and that, when times change people also need to  change and open themselves to new ideas.

I have chosen feedly as my RSS reader.

The 2 Blogs that are similar to what I will be talking about are IT 293 Blogging, Social Media, and I also chose to follow ruizlucy29, which has not yet posted but,  I was intrigued by the layout of the blog.

The ted talks video that I watched was “We’re worried about local warming....in your lap.” This video was very funny and entertaining, which is a really good way to give attention to something. I like that he used humor to get his point across.By using humor, it gets a lot more people’s attention rather than if he would have talked about the heating up of laptops on your lap in a regular form. If he would of talked about it that way, the topic wouldn’t have gotten the same affect.
