y'know when george become bailey's favourite? because it's not when he helps delivery her baby, that solidifies it sure, but it's when he tries to help joe instead of being blood thirsty, THAT was when Bailey decided George was her favourite.

❛ IZZIE, I FAILED... alex karev passed and I failed... and I'm not going to hear the end of it. ❜ he looked down at his beer, it wasn't strong enough, and waved joe over. Asking for shots of the strongest alcohol they had. Joe raised a concerned eyebrow, but continued with the request, pouring a shot of whatever, he took it and downed it, face twisting as it was absolutely disgusting, but he needed it. This day sucked, and he didn't know what else to do. He had a decision to make, and he just wanted to shut the whole world out - well, the world minus Izzie. He was even avoiding Callie's phone calls, and Bailey's. He still couldn't get over Bailey thinking she had failed him. She had been the best mentor, the best teacher. This was his massive mess. He turned back to her, a small smile, quickly gone, but still present for her. ❛ Leaving you would suck, plus finding a place to live in Texas and being away from my parents... I already did that with med school and I'm sure callie wouldn't want to move because I failed... and --- I failed, Callie helped me study. THE QUEEN OF THE TEST, and I failed. I'm just a failure and clearly I should just become a trophy husband or something because ... i failed. ❜ he might be very drunk, and he might be starting to repeat himself because of that.

george was izzie's best friend & she felt awful that he had to repeat his intern year & it wasn't fair to him. he was great at his job & he was such an amazing person that it killed her to see him like this. but that's how life was sometimes. it was short & a lot of the time it wasn't fair. she sat next to her friend at a bar that they would go to every single night whether it be to party or to just relieve some stress. izzie had her own beer in front of her & she took a long sip of it before answering her friend's question. ❛❛ george, you're great at what you do. & you shouldn't let an obstacle like repeating your intern year get in the way of it. ❜❜ hearing him suggest running away, izzie quickly looked over at him with an unamused look on her face. ❛❛ are you crazy!? you're not going anywhere. & you are definitely not leaving me. ❜❜ it was no secret that izzie had feelings for george but he was her friend first & he needed to know right now that she was there for him no matter what.

im sad and so i just am imagining george's depression in s5. how he wouldn't talk to izzie because of what she was going through, and how he let it eat him up, and then he died, and then ghost george in meredith's memories regretted it but didn't tell her (or it was in her head, but i cannot control that george so i'm going with the ghost version)
