Caves & Cliffs Part 1 Release Date

In some unexpected news, we finally got a release date for the most recent update. It will be available for both Bedrock and Java on the 8th of June, which is today.

It's logical that it dropped just a week prior to E3 so that people can enjoy it and not get distracted by all the announcements for games. You can still play it right now.

Pre-release launch

The last snapshot was deleted to make room for the update. This was blamed on an unanticipated issue. In the meantime, we finally received a pre-release of Caves & Cliffs

Sliced Lime, Minecraft's tech lead, announced the news via Twitter. This was the first pre-release and an essential part of development leading to the release date of today.

Update 1.17 release date

While the release date has been set for the first part of the series on the 8th of June, we don't know when the second will come. We were informed that Caves and Cliffs part one will be released during the summer, and part two will be released in the holiday season.

Minecraft players were prepared to wait a bit between the announcement and the release of the Nether Update. Now, we have a release window to see when the content will be available.

Caves & Cliffs Update content

Minecraft is set to become a whole lot more beautiful with more diverse and creative content planned for caves and mountains.

New biomes will be created, including beautiful caves that are alive as well as caves made of dripstone that are filled with stalagmites and stalactites.

Variation in caves is the theme. There will be the classic look, but there should be something for everyone with the Caves & Cliffs Update.

There are a lot of new mobs to be found. The terrifying Warden is about to enter the deepest caves, the darkest.

Along with that massive mob come more friendly ones! Axolotls will be added to the water, meanwhile goats are coming to the Overworld on the new mountains!

A new form of mining is coming with the Caves & Cliffs Update that lets players carefully dig up rare and fragile artifacts by brushing away debris instead of picking things up with a pickaxe.

New ore

Look for the latest copper ore or stunning Amethyst crystal geodes which can be mined to create new crafting materials. The Caves & Cliffs Update will provide you with a variety of new crafting blocks and recipes, including sculk sensors that detect movement, telescopes, lightning rods, leaf platforms, and many more.

Lush Caves

A new biome! Lush Caves promise to be alive with life. They will bring some color and interest to the caves as well as the danger of tunnelling.

There is a new tree, Azalea, which indicates the location of the Lush Cave is while on the surface.

Spore blossoms are a new block, a flower that hangs from the roof that releases particles similar to those in the Nether. Nether.
