Actually though in regards to my last post: older kids aren’t aphmau’s audience anymore. Some older people in the fandom still enjoy her content and that’s awesome but it seems like, at least for the foreseeable future, she’s moved on from roleplay videos.
Her titles also feature CAPITALIZED WORDS to DRAW ATTENTION of younger viewers and often feature colorful thumbnails. This is very common in YouTubers who cater to a younger audience.
I’m not going to sit here and insist she go back to roleplays or ask her to cater to an older audience but I will say I’m sad to see her old content go but at the same time I’m okay with moving on. Some youtubers grow and age with their audience but some continue to cater to younger ones, and since Jess has young kids, it makes sense for her to do so.
Overall, if she’s happy with the content she’s making, I’m happy for her. She gets to do what she loves and it’s not my place to force her to make certain content.
