Hermitcraft Season 10 VOD Archive Update: January

Misadventures is both a streaming series and a episode series! That being said, I don't blame you guys for assuming it's solely a youtube series

Yes, we are aware that Misadventures is a mixture of streaming and episodic series. Generally, it’s more geared towards a YouTube audience with many members live streaming directly on YouTube. There are a few members that stream on Twitch admittedly.

Regardless, we don’t have enough archivists or capacity to track another large project long term. If there is interest to volunteer for the project, we will gladly share our methods and help set up the foundations. Feel free to reach out to the archiving-questions channel in our Discord about it. Soooooo Misadventures :3

Hi! As of currently, most of our scope consist of archiving and tracking Twitch series rather than YouTube based series especially since Twitch recently announced that they are implementing storage limits. Alternatively, we can teach people who are interesting in archiving Misadventures SMP in the case of any cc’s streaming it? If there is an interest in our archiving methods we could release a archive guide.

Twitch has put out an announcement that they will limit streamers to 100 hours of highlights and uploads, deleting videos past that on April 19, 2025.

We've received concerned messages, so I wanted to clarify what I could.

First, as always, we are open to working with any MCYT creators who want assistance in archiving or recovering their content. We have done so in the past!

Second, to address a couple of specific people who have generated concern:

Cellbit: While he archives his streams to Twitch, he archives them as past broadcasts, not highlights or uploads. His past broadcasts will not be deleted as part of this change. I can additionally confirm that we have 720p60 backups of Cellbit's QSMP VODs, but these are just a backup (not uploaded and added to the spreadsheets) because he has an anti-reupload policy:

Philza: Unfortunately, Philza has a lot of Twitch videos that will be deleted. The good news is that Mercy (the YouTube VOD channel manager) has all of his public Twitch videos saved. (They have also uploaded to the VOD channel the videos Philza is comfortable with.) The primary loss concern is Philza's private videos. He said on stream today that he is working on saving those himself, but that he has highlights going all the way back to 2009, so that's a daunting project. My heart goes out to him because of what can only be an overwhelming and emotional project to take on.

That's all of the relevant information I'm aware of, but please feel free to reach out if there's anything further we can assist with.

Arkanis VOD Archive Update! / Atualização do Arquivo do Arkanis!

We've updated the Arkanis spreadsheet with VODs from December! The spreadsheet is now complete for season 1 of the server. [LINK]

Hi, are you guys currently archiving The Realm SMP VODs? Just wondering as there are some expired ones that I can't find anywhere.

Yes! We are currently archiving The Realm SMP. We're a bit behind on the spreadsheet side of things since we are working on multiple other archive projects simultaneously, but know that we should have the Realm spreadsheet out pretty soon.

Happy Anniversary, Hermitcraft 10!

In celebration of one year since Hermitcraft 10 began on February 3, 2024, I wanted to put out some statistics from the archiving team.

First, streams per month:

September through November have some of the lowest stream times, possibly due to TwitchCon and Wild Life both happening around then. Or the hermits just wanted to stream other things! There is a general downward trend throughout the graph, only brought back to life for that sweet December ad revenue.

The second chart I wanted to include is more just for my own amusement.

From February 3, 2024 through February 2, 2025, the hermits streamed Hermitcraft a total of 1596 times. Though not all stream, there were 27 total hermits.

Who streamed the most?

Behold: Your Tumblr sexyman, Joe Hills.

Responsible for 361 out of 1596 total Hermitcraft streams, 22.6% percent, there really aren't words to describe just how often this guy streams. A nightmare for the archiving team, truly, but a man of the people.

I know this is only tangentially mcyt, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Do you know if there is any archive of the more recent James Marriott streams? The channel I used to watch only has until like 2022 so I'm wondering if anything after that is just gone now

Looking into our archive for James Marriott, we have all of his his Origins SMP vods back from Oct 18, 2021 to Dec 9, 2022. And it looks like we have more from Jan 16, 2022 to Mar 3, 2024 in our back up archive. We stopped around March 2024 since we were shifting our resources for more Minecraft specific content creators.

Regardless, those vods we have aren’t currently posted publicly but you can join our Discord and reach out to the archivist that has all of them. They’ll be happy to send the files to you directly. Feel free to ask in the archiving-questions channel.
