Note
None of it would have happened without the creativity and generosity of our participants either, so mods want to say thanks to everybody for a wonderful event that we all built together.
And I, head mod, want to say thank you SO MUCH to all my fellow mods, because this is the epitome of an event that would not work without everyone's help.
an absolutely MASSIVE amount of love for the entire AUFest mod team! they've done so much work both before and during Battleship, from getting trapped in the lore of the teams to spending hours upon hours processing fanworks. Plus, all of the art, narratives, and community made this one of the best events in the space i've ever been in. There are friendships that have been forged here, and it's just been amazing and none of it would be possible without the mods!

Hello, Hello, Hello! Welcome to the Zedaph Zine
I'm Mod Soapy, and I've started this project to honor all things Zedaph-y! And what better to celebrate our favorite pink and yellow content creator than a zine full of amazing art and writing all about him?! From the early days of Moonlight SMP to his recent chicken-villager jockey experiments, Zed's always full of surprises and wacky delightful science as he does things his own way.
Let the Zedaph Zine commence!
Interest Check!
This form is here to get a good idea of how many people will be participating! Feel free to ask any questions within the interest check itself, or send them here to the blog!

It's time to start the editing phase of Aufest this year, and it's time to look at what we want the event to be next time. While you edit, we have some polls for you!
First: the question of if we change up the yearly event schedule. The mod team enjoyed battleship a lot, and we've seen a lot of people excited to do it again! We see two options for this: either we can keep it as one of the AU Fest options, meaning that it would be part of the poll that is going up in the next post, and then if it wins the poll battleship would take place around the same time next year and have AUs as the premise, or we could rearrange our yearly exchange cycle. Our current plan for this is that we would move Battleship to the spring exchange slot (normally when we hold @mcytrecursive), have @mcytaufest in the summer as a separate event, and then move Recursive to the late fall, where it would then replace @mcytblrholidayexchange.

And with that in mind, it's time to look at our options for next event! They are:
A: Big Bang
In a big bang, artists and writers work together in teams to make a joint work! Writers would start a work, and after a month artists would pick works they potentially wanted to work with (choosing from anonymous summaries), and then they would be matched to their best available match. Then the artists would have a month to work on art to compliment the piece, and writers would have a month to finish their work! This would have a 5k minimum for writers, a finished piece for artists. Podfic and web weaves would be allowed. This is a good option if you like working on single long pieces over a longer period.
B: Reverse Bang
In a reverse bang, similarly to a big bang, artists and writers work together in teams to make a joint work, but this time the artist go first! Artists would have a month to make an art piece, and then people would pick from the anonymized art to choose which art they wanted to write a fic about! Writers would then have two months to work. This would have a 5k minimum for writers, a finished piece for artists. Unusual art forms would be allowed, but not podfic. This is also a good option if you like working on single long pieces over a longer period.
C: Battleship
This is the style we just finished! In battleship teams work together to clear tag boards and beat bosses, racing to be faster than the other teams. This has a minimum of 300 words for fic, a finished sketch on unlined paper for artists. Web weaves and podfic are allowed. This is a good option if you like writing many shorter works very fast in a competitive environment.
D: Freeform Exchange
This is similar to exchanges you might have done such as the holiday exchange, where you sign up saying what kind of fandom and relationship you're willing to make and are matched to someone requesting that, but you'll also have a chance to be matching on AUs suggested by the community! AUs ranging from the broad (AU - Space) to the incredibly specific (AU - accidentally married to the volcano god you were sacrificed to) would be possibilities. People would have a month to work. This would have a minimum of 1k for fic, and a finished piece for art. Podfic and web weaves would be allowed. This is a good option if you like to work on single longer pieces based on prompts over a decent period of time.
E: Fest
In a fest there are no assignments, the mods post a list of themes and you write different things to hit them! You can start work as soon as the themes are announced, and then we post in a big blitz of posting and enjoying each other's works. This is a good option if you like working to theme or tag challenges but want to work on your own pace. This would have no minimums and all creative formats would be allowed.

Sign-Ups are now open for the MCYT Aromantic/QPR Exchange!
Nominations have now closed, and we have moved into the sign-up phase of the exchange! Sign-ups will remain open until 3PM EST on June 22nd.
All participants must be 18 years or older.
You agree to do your best to create a gift that follows your assignment’s requests and DNWs, which is either a complete story of at least 1000 words or one finished piece of artwork.
Participants must adhere to guidelines of DL;DR (Don’t Like, Don’t Read).
AI-generated content is not permitted in any way.
NSFW content is optional and not required to request or create. Each signup will be required to request at least one prompt fillable by a SFW work.
For the greatest comfort of all participants and moderators, gifts may not contain non-con/rape or incest. All characters depicted in NSFW fills must be adults, and RPF nominees must be famous in their own right.
While the lines between what exactly is contained in a romantic/sexual relationship versus a platonic one are of course intentionally and celebratedly blurry in aromantic and queerplatonic relationships, for the purposes of this exchange's matching, we count QPRs to fall under a relationship denoted with a slash (/) (i.e. LDShadowLady/SolidarityGaming (Life Series)). A relationship with an ampersand (&) (i.e. LDShadowLady & SolidarityGaming (Life Series)) would be considered a non-romantic, sexual, OR queerplatonic relationship, such as friendship or family. Please craft your sign-up with this in mind!

ImpulseSV Zine Is Out!!
https://impulsesvzine.itch.io/impulsesv-zine
Hello dear reader, and thank you for downloading the ImpulseSV Zine! Included is the heart and soul of 8 authors and 32 artists who have all been inspired by our beloved ImpulseSV. This zine would not exist without our six dedicated mods—especially our admin, AdamMonter—and of course ImpulseSV himself. Were it not for the years of incredibly talented and funny content he's created, these pieces would not exist! We would also like to thank the wonderful MCYTblr community, which has supported us from beginning to end as we worked on this project.
From Skyblock and Naked and Scared with Skizz, to Hermitcraft with Tango, False, and Zed, to the JITS and GIGGS crews—we've been inspired by countless hours of entertainment, and have tried to create that same entertainment for you in our creations!
Due to some canon-typical graphic depictions of violence, our suggested age range is 15+.
We hope you enjoy this labour of love!

Welcome, crewmates and all, to Impromptster!
Ever think about combining a fan-creating event with a hidden role game? Enjoy practicing your sleuthing skills? Welcome to IMPROMPTSTER—the MCYT fan-work creation event where one among you is pretending they have the same prompt as the group.
Inspired by games like Chameleon and, of course, Among Us, we have put together a game that allows you to foil the Imposter and guess both your own crew's Imposter as well as the other crews' prompts!
Here is a document explaining how the event runs in more depth, and the Discord server link, though it will be dormant until June 27! We will be requiring a Discord account to participate, due to the mechanic of splitting everyone into tight-knit crews. Feel free to join even if you don't plan to participate, as you can get a custom role and attempt to guess who the Imposters are once the pieces come out! The time has come to sign up as a participant! If you have any questions for us, our ask box is always open : ]
Schedule:
Signups open: JUNE 15th at 11:59 P.M. EST (2 weeks)
Discord is awakened: JUNE 27th at 11:59 P.M. EST
Signups close: JULY 3rd at 11:59 P.M. EST
Teams announced and roles given: JULY 7th at 11:59 P.M. EST
Piece Creation time begins: JULY 7th at 11:59 P.M. EST (3 weeks)
During creation time, we will have weekly check-ins due Sunday nights at 11:59 P.M. EST
Piece due: AUGUST 1st at 11:59 P.M. EST
Collection checking and reading time starts: AUGUST 8th at 11:59 P.M. EST
Submit Round 1 Guesses: AUGUST 15th at 11:59 P.M. EST
Submit Round 2 Guesses: AUGUST 29th at 11:59 P.M. EST

Hello everyone! With the newest Life Series season somewhere on the horizon, I decided to host a prompt week to celebrate all of the hardcore Minecraft series that anyone can make art or write fics out of! This prompt series will mostly focus on competitive hardcore series (life series, bounty hunters smp, etc.) but will also welcome non-competitive hardcore series (new life smp, afterlife smp, etc.)
The prompt week will last from June 22 to June 28 and will go as follows:
June 22 (Sun): Favorite player/character
June 23 (Mon): Favorite group/collab
June 24 (Tues): Favorite Moment
June 25 (Wed): Favorite Death
June 26 (Thurs): Symbolism
June 27 (Fri): Last One Standing/Finale
June 28 (Sat): Free Day!
The tag for this event will be #tilldeathdowepart2025 any questions that anyone may have about this event or any of the prompts I will answer in comments below!
I will be tagging @mcytblrsource so this post can get reach within the community

What should we do if we were not able to get a piece submitted in time?
(Is there still a way I can give my gift to the person requesting?)
You can absolutely still give a gift! If you were working on something in round 1 or the boss battle 1 and you didn't get it done, the options are: * See if you can claim some tags from board 2, maybe with a little editing! We had disabled character in the first round and assistive and adaptive devices in the second— throw in a mention of your Deaf character taking out their hearing aids and you're golden! * Save the piece for boss two! Your word count (or points) will be useful against the boss. * Save the piece for board 3! All of the tags in the event will be in play in board 3, so no matter when you made your piece, you can claim things! * Even if you don't get it done at all during any of those rounds, you can still give it as a treat during the editing phase or reading weeks, and then they get an extra present! So you have an extra two weeks of time to finish it up!

are you allowed to put in characters/relationships that weren’t requested? ex. you pick up a prompt for character b/character a, and within the fic character b & character c (unrequested) have a pretty substantial relationship as character c is wingmanning for character b, though even if their relationship is important to the fic character a/character b is still the main focus — is that allowed?
You are allowed to put in side relationships and characters unless the person has DNWed unrequested relationships or those characters! As long as those are still supporting characters/relationships, that's fine. If it rises to the point where you'd be like "well, this is kind of a an A/B and B & C fic, I have dual focus, even though the person only requested A/B", (which kind of sounds like you might be getting to that point with the c wingmanning story) then open up a ticket and we can ask the person if they'd be okay with it!

for the word boss section, do the tags still matter during that time or is that segment more about the word count and less about the tags in terms of points? could you just make a work that’s more about creating a gift for somebody and not so much hitting a bunch of tags for that part of the event or does hitting tags still hold an important sway in that period?
During the boss section you want to worry about exactly one tag, because you need to match to one requested tag to make your work a valid gift. That's the one you put in your author's note to say "Gifting to Markus, for a request for Grian/GoodTimesWithScar, with the request for AU - Pirates"! But then you take that one tag and you do anything you like with it, because in the boss rounds the big thing you want is word count, not lots of tags. Set that pirate AU in space, in ancient egypt, with merfolk, inside a video game— whatever you like.
