I've decided to remake the corrupted rubies and make the mega ruby as well, i hope you like it !

There's something very funny to me about picking a random fusion design, adding components, fusing said components and just fusing them again just to figure out how to draw said random fusion design. Turned her into an adopt but she's sold oops sorry just wanted to share her i thought it all came very neat

Was inspired by @pocket-gems to draw concept art of my Idocrase Gemsona redesign!!

Idocrase serve as a type of Gem Scientist who specialize in Geological studies, they're often seen in Kindergarten operations and Colonization operations. Sent down to planets to collect specimens of rock and other minerals to determine how viable a planet is for future colonization.

I imagine they're pretty old in terms of Gem history, made either during the first times when gems started to advance into the stars, or even earlier than that.

They utilized a ancient method of producing gems where they actually use initiate powers and abilities within their gemstones instead of relying on outside things like machines (They could create their weapons from their gems instead of forging them out of metal for example). They can use their bubbles to examine rock specimens.

Below is another concept art I made for Idocrases on Whiteboard.Fox. I like it, but it feels too.. complicated for Steven Universe Homeworld Gems, feels like a Aristocratic Gem (I imagine Idocrases as Middle ranked gems)

su work over the last week or so :) the first two actually feature my gemsonas which I VERY rarely draw!! I need to change that so bad ... the tall blue one is Flint, the baby blue one is Aerogel, and the purple one is Titanium Quartz or Tati!

Idk if I'll ever make this actually canon but for a while I've been working under the idea that my gem ocs exist in an alternate universe where the Crystal Gems don't exist anymore, and that's why they never run into them. Idk tho

Revamped my pilot Blue design based on the sketches from Sugar's TikTok. I love the one with this lion's mane! Symbolism! Might use it for my Blue AU too, honestly.

She's a member of White Diamond's elite quartz army

I blame @hal-heheh for this - I was on a break, saw I had new followers, saw gem icon, and mmmmmmm I haven’t drawn Rock Ladies in a while…I don’t remember picking up a pencil oops I dropped my markers on lineart! Oh well ;)

For reference, these ladies work with Moon, Vee, Wave, Star Emerald, and Bangs on the Shatterthorn. Gossip and Grape had always been friends, both working under Yellow Diamond; when Rose Quartz announced her Rebellion, they joined up, dissatisfied with the classism - and working where they did, they knew that things were even worse behind closed doors.

They were smuggled out by a Kyanite, who mentored them in using their skills in gossip gathering to spy - and when they nearly lost their mentor to a particularly memorable Peridot and her Ruby, they fused to save her. The new fusion ended up capturing the Blue Court Peridot and her bodyguard, and eventually gaining new rebels. The spy duo, their mentor, and their “prisoners” were assigned to The Shatterthorn about an Earth year before Pink Diamond was “shattered”, and now Wine uses her skills to locate off-color gems and rebels used as power sources, and whisk them away under the cover of “reassignment” - who would question a Sapphire and her Pearl? Or a high-ranking Kyanite? Or a Peridot with the proper documents?

I am officially labeling this AU Rock Ladies - it’s not going to be super regular, but the three new gems I mentioned will be on my to-do list. Enjoy!
