I know the SDV ask blog community is pretty dead but I’m thinking about trying to post here more again. Maybe more of just general game content rather than the ask blog this once was? Or maybe text-based RP with some art every so often.

How's the mod work coming along if I may ask?

Sorry about the radio silence!

I’ve been making some slow but steady progress :) School and stress have prevented me from concentrating on it as much as when I first started, but once classes are finished in a month, I’ll be able to devote more time to this!

In the meantime, if you or anyone else are interested, you can view my progress here! Green means it is completed, yellow means it is in progress, red means I am waiting on info from the character owners to get to me, and blank means nothing has been started on that step yet! :)

I appreciate you asking for an update though! It’s nice to know that people are interested in this project.

New SDV OC Project

So…I decided I wanted to try something new, and of course I always want to do something very big and seemingly impossible. What is this project you might ask?

I want to make an SDV OC mod.

What this means is that I want to replace the characters of Pelican Town with OCs from this little community of ours!

Now this is going to be a lot of work. I’m still learning how to do extensive modding. I’m good at pixel art, but code and the like is more difficult, and I’m still learning how to edit maps. That means that this will be a slow process, but also a learning one for me that I will enjoy. So if you follow the progress of my project, please bear with me!

This also means that I need people to reach out to me about their character(s)! I will accept up to 2 OCs from each person to replace NPCs so I can get a nice versatile cast to include. There are a few rules and things I want you to adhere to/keep in mind though:

You may only offer up to 2 OCs for replacement. I want more people to have a chance to be a part of this project!

I would prefer that you’re 18+. I am 21 years old, and I would feel uncomfortable interacting with minors. If you’re 16/17 I can make an exception, but there will be limited interactions and absolutely no NSFW discussions of any kind. Stay safe, kids!

You must be a part of this community for a few months. This will be a long-term project and I don’t want someone who just joined to be a part of this project and end up ghosting for whatever reason.

I would prefer it if I have interacted with you before. If I already know your character, then it will make it easier to work with you on how to incorporate your character. However, those I have not interacted with are still encouraged to reach out!

I will be talking to you about details of your character to include in the mod. This means you should be thinking about what your heart events would be, what your daily routine would be, what gifts you like/dislike, etc!

You will be credited in the mod. I want to make absolutely clear that anyone whose character I use in this mod will be credited in the description of said mod, including getting a link back to their SDV blog and another social media of the creator’s choosing! :)

I have a right to reject using your character. If I am uncomfortable using your character for whatever reason, I have a right to reject your offer to be included in the mod. I want this to be a fun project for me first and foremost so if I’m uncomfortable using your character(s) then I have a right to say no. Please be understanding.

If all of this sounds good to you, please look at the NPC list (link below) and reach out to me in a DM or through discord if you know me on there, and tell me who you would like your character to replace and if they would be dateable!

I will also be making a small discord server so those whose characters will be replacing NPCs can all be together and discuss the project and I have easy access to talking to you! Please make sure you have discord if you ask to join.

I also may be adding additional NPCs so if you think that your character(s) won’t quite fit any of the original NPCs that are left, feel free to message me anyway and ask about it! I will also try to be making more characters interactable, so characters like Gil and Marlon etc. might have a more active role than they do in the original game!

Please note that I am doing this for fun, and am not guaranteeing that I will complete this 100%. I still have school, I still have work, I still have other projects I’m working on.
