I don’t trust the fact that SaveAFox has not ONCE posted either of the adult jackals that bred the ones she bottle raised.

I have my doubts they’re in good condition especially with the pups stolen to be sold as “exotic” props.

Mikayla Raine claims that she doesn’t post the adults because she “likes some of her life to stay private” or whatever which is a very lame excuse. I’m pretty sure the main reason is that showing that the adults exist at all would raise the question “why did you separate them from the pups as soon as they were born” more often, and she really can’t have that can she?

After all, if she just loosely implies they’re a rescue case by never mentioning the adults at all on her public accounts and doesn’t mention the social pack bonds jackals form between each other, it’s a lot easier to get those sweet sweet profits without any guilt. Don’t think it’s monetary? Ask why the only way to see most of the posts about the jackals at all is to subscribe to her on YouTube or Facebook or onlyfans.

I can’t even imagine what she’s posting on her paywalled YouTube account. I don’t think I want to find out either, and I’m certainly not paying her a cent to see.

It makes me so angry to think about how much the jackals must have trusted her to let her near their pups only for her to completely betray that trust. Jackals mate for life, and they form very strong bonds with family. There’s no excuse for doing this to them. That’s so much strife to put wild animals through and for what? To bait in more subscribers? Placate your volunteers by giving them baby animals to manhandle? Get more clicks on your pages by showing clips of the jackals “playing” with dogs and foxes?

There’s never been much question that Mikayla Raine keeps these animals for profit and ego, but these jackals are really the prime example. The fact her husband bought the jackal parents for her as a gift, presumably with money from donations because it doesn’t seem like either of them have a job outside of that, and she kept them secret for years makes my blood boil. How many animals are there that she just doesn’t let the public know about? At this point she could announce that she’s had a baby liger for several months and I wouldn’t be shocked.

I feel like my client builds this year have become pretty stagnant. Not bad, just repetitive, and that's when I get bored and, I'll be honest, a little pissy. Frustrated.

That's why I fail at using the CNC router, the centerpiece tool of my shop, as it was intended -- to make the same fucking cribbage boards or flat pack furniture or whatever precisely and efficiently 10,000 times in a row.

I'll never be a big commercial success like that, like all the youtube videos rave about when you buy a CNC, because I make the same thing four times in a row, and I want to headbutt a cinderblock wall repeatedly.

No, it's small, highly customized jobs for me. Shit that pays well on a per job basis but has no mass appeal.

Those black walnut river tables are gorgeous, that's why people keep ordering them, and my Corhole boards are bullet proof strong and happily received. The CNC cut signs sell well, but in Tumblr-of-Old speak, as a maker, I can only jerk off to the same porn so many times in a row.

I'm very excited about modeling the resin river I posted about yesterday. It's a nice change. I haven't had one ordered in a couple years. I'm watching all the old YouTube videos I learned from while the supplies arrive from Uncle Jeff's online bookstore.

None of the foam and trees shit matters while making a table, but I'm pumped to be back here, modeling another river. Like seeing an old friend.

As further reinvigoration, I've also ordered a starter kit of hand lettering enamels and pinstriping brushes.

Thinking about when I worked at a shitty restaurant + one night it was just me + 3 other women on closing shift, so some guy came in the back and waved a knife around, presumably for money but I’m not actually certain, bc he was met with the bartender holding a much bigger knife, a tiny teenager wielding a cast iron pan, an elderly woman holding up a crockpot of clearly boiling water, and me, turning on the meat slicer with eye contact for maximum effect. He left, but the moral of the story is not girl power or whatever, it’s just. Why the fuck would you threaten a room full of underpaid and sleep-deprived blue-collar workers surrounded by lethal weapons.
