Traveling Alone
I have never in my life traveled alone. I would like to try to travel alone soon. I think traveling is very therapeutic . It calms my mind and open my eyes up to the world.
I am very afraid of traveling alone. Firstly, I'm a girl, i have more to lose than a guy. safety wise I would have to be on my guard 24/7. Also money is a issue. At times i might feel lonely because i have no traveling companion or i might meet someone during my traveling times and become good friends with them.

Venice. Venice might become the next lost city of Atlantis soon. It is sinking every year. I would want to visit Venice as soon as possible to witness it in its full glory. It has always been such a romantic place to me since i was a child.

A little about me.
I have always wanted to travel around the world. As a Singaporean i often hear complains such as " its a friday night, I got no where else to go. I've been to almost every part of Singapore already." And i do agree, those places i have not explored in Singapore are way out of my budget.
I am 20 this year, doing my diploma in Singapore poly. I have always been very timid and comfortable in my own little circle. However as i grew older, i realised that life as i know of it now is not enough for me. I crave for more.
I am rather lucky to have travelled to some places far away such as USA before. Every time I'm in a new country, i'd feel so alive, so curious and i want to explore every inch of it. I want to get to know people and live like how they have lived. The wonders of it is unexplainable.
I have fantasized about backing to Europe and hopefully I have a Chance to get to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower or the leaning tower of Pisa. I'am one year away from graduation. And i hope one year away from traveling and having the world beneath my feet.

Budget Singaporean Journey
fall in love with being alive.
Life is shorter than you think. I’ve seen friends pass away suddenly. NS takes away your time and your freedom. And once it’s taken away, you realize how important our lives are. Ever since I’ve completed my military service in June...

This is very helpful...

What is it that really makes us fat?
Not fats. Well they aren’t the main culprit anyway. Ever heard of good fats? Anyway, carbs or better known as carbohydrates do.
What are carbohydrates?
They can be found in our staple foods - rice, bread, noodles, pasta etc. But do we need these foods? We do! However, these are simple carbs.
Complex carbs are those that can provide us with energy and fiber. Carbs person? How about try these substitutions for a change!
White bread -> Wholemeal bread Normal pasta -> Wholemeal pasta White rice -> Brown rice
Foods like white rice and white bread are processed with their “good parts” removed. White rice are rice with their husks removed. The husks, the brown outer layer of brown rice, is a very good source of fiber.
Similarly, oatmeal is a good meal replacement! A small bowl of oatmeal can keep you going for half a day as it releases small bursts of energy along the way.
If you are looking for weight-loss, oatmeal is a cost-efficient and an extremely healthy way to go!
Tip: Start making these meal improvements bit by bit today! Add one tablespoon of brown rice to you white rice/eat wholemeal bread instead of white bread! Peanut butter + wholemeal bread is AWESOME!
Next up: Oatmeal and its benefits

So trying this out!

Putting everything good together
In the last post, I shared about good fats. One of the foods with good fats is almonds. Almonds are highly nutritional and a few of the many benefits includes lowering heart attack risk, lowering blood sugar after meals and help provide good brain function with its riboflavin and L-carnitine content.
According to WHFoods, those who ate nuts at least two times per week were 31 percent less likely to gain weight than were those who never or seldom ate them in a study involving 8865 adults.
This week, we’ll be talking about putting all the wonderful foods together. Namely, oatmeal, yoghurt, milk, berries and almond - a power-packed combination!
How do I make this power-packed meal?
1. Cook oatmeal over a stovetop with the same amount of water/milk. (The oatmeal packet should have better instructions with regard to the type of oats you use)
2. Top with almonds, berries and yoghurt! Stir them in with honey for taste. Here you have it! A simple, delicious, satisfying and extremely healthy meal :)
Tip: Like cocoa/cinnamon? Top cocoa powder/cinnamon powder for better taste!
Next up: Exciting renditions of power-packed meals!

Cool place!!!

artisan boulangerie co.
I was walking around Killiney road a few days back and I stumbled upon this very artsy, rustic looking cafe. I decided to go in for a chill.
After a bit of research after my visit, I found out that it is led by an award-winning artisan baker, Eran Mayer. The cafe adopts a French influence in it’s pastries and breads. (French breads are usually chewier)
I love bread. And I was very excited to see the wide variety of selections they had including sourdough bread, baguettes etc. which they sell in loaves.
Anyway what I really loved was the entire feel of the cafe. It had a 5/5 ambience. Very chill and a good mix of contemporary and earthy. I felt like a parisian just sipping tea and looking out at the streets.
The prices are fair for its quality. Not too pricey. A pot of tea that allows refill was at $5, and the dessert were at about $6. The croissants tasted buttery and was just amazing.
The sandwiches looked really good, will definitely give it a try during my next visit.
PLUS: It is usually pleasantly quiet on weekdays, morning till night, a great place to chill, have coffee and company.
Tip: As an unexplored area in town with an artsy outlook, it is a good place to do little bit of work and draw inspiration!
