reading progressive sex ed caricatures with accurate and detailed and realistic diagrams of sexual organs + shows their variation, but all i can think about is how there is no discussion of what srs is besides the fact that it exists

Gen 4 augmentation logs
Success rate:
Implantation Mortality: 12.96% (7/54)
Augmetic Encephalopathy: 18.52% (10/54)
Implantation trials on teenaged subjects (15-17) proved hugely successful, body more accepting of augmentae during puberty. Brain function preserved, implantation rate acceptable. G4 pilots perform at an avg score of 86 vs non-aug's scores of 23, G1 avgs of 60, and G2 avgs of 68. Addutionally pilots are more capable of improvisation than G2 pilots, although less so than G1.

Generation 3 Pilot augmentation logs
Success rate: 0% (0/123)
Implantation Mortality rate: 9.76% (12/123)
Augmetic Encephalopathy: 90.24% (111/123)
Infant experimentation (3 to 9 months)
Implantation surgery largely successful, however addition of the implant during initial brain development found to cause anterograde amnesia, tonic-clonic seizures, coma, and sudden death (cause determined to be suffocation). Additionally, agitation evident in 15 cases, and 9 failed to feed (possible indicator of apathy/depression?).

Generation 2 pilot augmentation log:
Success rate: 4% (4 of 100)
Implantation Mortality rate: 43% (43 of 100)
Neuron degeneration: 57% (57 of 100)
Refinements to Gen 1's brainstem implants have significantly reduced rates of neuron degradation, however, increases in power of the implant have proved to cause unacceptable rates of mortality during implantation.
Anger issues no longer common, however paranoia and psychosis increased: attempts to resolve with medication have proven insufficient. Feelings of invulnerability rare, but severe when present. 12 reported that they were "being watched". 53 successful Implantations deemed nonviable for pilot status due to overwhelming noncompliance and hallucinations.
Pilots B1, B2, B3, B4 consistently outperform Gen 1 pilots A1, A4 in simulations. A9 manages to turn the fight in its favor in 74% of simulations. 19% of its losses have been in open terrain situations: it seems to perform better in CQC and complex terrain than its Gen 2 counterparts.
Pilot A3 destroyed during communication blackout during emergency sortie with A7.
Assistant researcher Sampson's log:
"My transfer request has been denied. Apparently my skills have been deemed 'essential to the augmentation programs success'.
Whatever that means.
This trial had reduced sample size.... 'sample size'... God, umm...
We're experimenting on less people.
We managed to reduce the issues with neural pathway decomposition, but the failure rates on implantation surgery have been.... Depressing. At least they go quick, not like the G1s.
I still feel them staring.
The G2s have other issues though.
B2 had such a lovely smile when she came in.... Now she spends every waking moment talking to people that aren't there. Maybe she can hear the ghosts of G1......
I'd submit another transfer request, but it's been made clear to me that I will not be released from my post here. I guess I'll just do my best to give them as much dignity as possible."

The development of the GEAC implant has reached a trial phase: primarily designed to aid human subjects in dual processing sensory input, this implant promises a new future for combat piloting.
Generation 1 pilot augmentation logs
Success rate: 0.45% (9 of 2000)
Implantation Mortality rate: 21.85% (437 of 2000)
Neuron degradation: 99.81% (1560 of 1563)
Neuron degradation present in all but 3 cases. Added mental load causing personality death and coma common, anger issues universal. Intracranial Hemorrhage during implantation proving difficult to avoid.
Refinement of Implantation process required.
Nonviable subjects terminated.
Pilots A1-5 deployed on trial patrol in grids {456, -127}-{476, -122} past canyon northside. Patrols uneventful, save for A2, A3, and A5 experiencing instability upon encountering graffitied mural of a young woman crying. 63% of munitions deployed before outburst ceased.
Pilots A6-A9 deployed on trial patrol in grids {436, -126}-{416, -115} past canyon southside. Initial patrol route happened to coincide with enemy squad attempting to strike behind our lines.
Pilot A6 detects movement, proceeds ahead. Upon encountering 19 Baru and 4 Glamred mecha, A6 engages missile systems, destroying 2 Baru outright.
Closing with lead Glamred, kinetic lance aimed.
Both are destroyed instantly by a second missile salvo fired from A7.
Pilot A7 eliminated 5 enemy mechs, as well as A-6 thru friendly fire. Pilots A6, A8 KIA upon initial sortie opposing 23 enemy non-augmented pilots.
Pilot A9 eliminated 12 of the remaining enemy mechs, suffering 3 hull breaches and 17 fractured bones.
Pilots A1, A4, and A9 cleared for long term mission deployment. Pilots A2, A3, A5, A7 deemed unstable, suitable for emergency mission deployment; however rage issues will progress incrementally with deployment time.
Assistant researcher Sampson's audio log:
"What exactly were we trying to achieve here? We.... we killed those soldiers."
"They wanted to “be part of something bigger than themselves” “help us take the next step in the evolution of mecha warfare”
........
"Look where it fucking got them."
"And for the ones who lived.... Death would've been a mercy."
"I can still see their faces when I...." *microphone inaudible* "....at night, pleading...."
"I'm turning a transfer request in the morning."
