They called out state troopers in riot gear to suppress UT Austin students who had every right to be protesting on their own campus, under both state and federal law. The motherfuckers are scared, that means the protests are WORKING. Fuck the police, fuck capitalism, fuck looking the other way while genocide is being committed using weapons our tax dollars paid for. Evil will not triumph and Palestine will be free in our lifetimes.

While I was drawing Queen Twilight I went ahead and also did Princess Twilight. Instead of wearing a full crown all the time, I thought she'd wear a little comb in her bun with the spark of magic and only wears a crown/diadem when she becomes queen. For her queen form I tried to reflect the both the night sky and magic in her mane (the purple bits are a bit more firey ig) I don't really like the weird breast plates the princesses are wearing, so I went with simple jewelry, as I don't think Twilight would like to wear too much (or anything flashy)

The monthly art prompt from the mlp server was 'Awakening' and of course my mind immediately went to AJ's gay awakening. Or rather, the moment she realizes that the feelings she harbors for Rara are not in fact just friendship.

Besides Rarijack, AJ/Rara is one of my fave AJ ships. I love to think that Rara probably was her first crush and camp romance.

Do White middle class Americans who say things like "only country in the world where this happens" genuinely not understand how racist and dismissive of social problems in other countries it makes them sound? The US doesn't even have the highest per capita rate of firearm homicide in North America, much less the entire world, and if the only idea you have for doing anything about it is MOAR GUN CONTROL you might want to take a look at gun control laws in Mexico before you fall off the soapbox. This isn't about access to guns, it's about lack of access to any rational degree of the public services that keep sane people from becoming criminals and insane people from becoming violent; Germany has the fourth highest per capita rate of legal firearm ownership in the world-- and three and a half times as many illegal guns as legal guns, making German criminals among the most heavily armed in Europe-- but it's not even in the top 150 for intentional homicide, because it has some of the best social services in the world. This keeps happening in the US because this country is a capitalist hellhole that prioritizes LINE GO UP over literally everything else; if we were a social democracy, we'd have a social democracy's crime rate. This is very much about mental health, because in a country run by grownups mental health care would be free, easy to get, and without stigma, and this nazi piece of shit would be infinitely more likely to have been in therapy or on medication.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, if you honestly believe that the kind of shitbags who murder their neighbors for being Democrats or threaten to murder performers at drag shows or drive halfway across Texas so they can massacre a Walmart full of Mexican tourists are actually going to comply with whatever gun control laws you're after, I don't know what to tell you other than to point out that even normal people have had a <5% compliance rate with performative nonsense like bans on "assault weapons" and standard capacity magazines in California, Colorado, and New Jersey. What you're demanding is that innocent people be left unable to defend themselves from violent nazi assholes who absolutely will not be laying down their guns, and who exactly do you think is going to be responsible for enforcing those new laws? Has White Middle Class America just collectively forgotten that all cops are, in fact, bastards?

RE: "Thought he was a democrat" - Further investigation shows that the man had a history of mental illness before he shot his victim, having stabbed his own father 5 years earlier. Better to argue for stricter gun laws and better mental health supports, I think,than simply right vs left.

Of course this is a Right vs. Left issue. Nobody on the Left is openly calling for violence the way nearly everyone on the Right is. Nobody on the Left is telling their voters to "strap on a glock" or using dehumanizing language to reduce human beings to enemies who must be destroyed.

Every country in the world has people who struggle with mental health. America is the only country in the world where this kind of violent murder happens regularly.

This isn't about mental health. This is about easy access to weapons, and a political party that openly encourages its followers to choose violence, and then acts surprised when they do.
