Unpopular opinion, but I just love season 3.

That unbelievable beautiful episode of young Poppy and Ian, both so misunderstood by the world. Connected right from the start.

We learn that Poppy fell in love with the game Ian created based on his imagination as a little boy living with his loving, caring mom.

Which is the ONE thing that immediately pulls him towards Poppy years later, as they meet at MIT.

And then there is this scene two episodes later. Ian staring at Poppy who is heartbroken, and he is living through this massive throwback to every single moment of them, seeing this woman and all he loves her for.

And that song we hear is the same that is played when we see him build and imagine Sarian with his mom.

Kinda Like This.

Poppy is home. Right from the start.

The way the mythic quest fandom on this website uses IT'S PLATONIC like they're warding off the plague is so funny. Every post made in the tags is like "I love Ian and Poppy....... PLATONICALLY YOU SICK FREAKS" and then the ship is literally just your basic friends to lovers

he compared looking at her empty desk to being in hell. she faked going into labor to make a plane turn around MIDAIR to go talk to him. and this was BEFORE they kissed. whether they pretend this never happened or literally get married and raise her kid together or split the difference by insisting they're still platonic while literally getting married and raising a child together either way they're about to get so much more unhinged about each other and I win no matter what

It's so ironic and perfectly poetical at the same time, that Ian told Poppy in the beginning of season 4 that he only loves her mind and not her body and no boyfriend could ever take that away from them and then at the end of the season he realized her boyfriend really threatened to take her mind away from him and thats the moment he realized he is in love with her body as well

the thing about the grimpop kiss is that it was a GOOD kiss. like subjective opinions about chemistry aside, the writers could have played this MUCH differently. after years of insisting there's zero attraction or desire between them this could have happened mid season as a comedic sort of "freeze two seconds in as they mutually realize this is fucking terrible and pull back in horror" kiss that would finally shut the shippers up but nope! they built it up all season long and when it finally happened they were both LOCKED IN until they weren't. and yeah they can totally walk this back in the first five seconds of the next season OR they can choose to be hilarious about it and have them argue about who kissed who and insist they absolutely did not enjoy it at all and then immediately kiss again.

sorry I know basically no one on tumblr watches this show, but its sO crazy what apple tv did with mythic quest. force-mandela-effecting the entire audience in the span of a week. you saw the main characters full on new-girl-nick-jess-in-the-hallway make out except no you didn't. that never happened. look at the episode again. see? they just hug. we've been telling you this was always about platonic love. you think they kissed? where's your proof

It's interesting that in both Zekaela first introductions, Michaela is the one that finds Zeke.

She followed Cal's calling, which led her to Zeke in season 1 and then she followed what Zeke said to her in the glow to find him at the airport. She chooses him every time.

Also, I love that all her time with him in the glow was kept to herself. She always told Ben everything, especially things relating to callings/828 stuff. But it was sweet that she kept that one thing to herself.
