Hello! I just saw your post about how Larry throws his pokeballs and wanted to let you know that the JP side of the fanbase says it’s most likely based on Koyo Aoyagi (Hanshin Tigers)’s throw. I’m not too well versed in baseball but the video seems pretty similar to me.

Thank you, anon! I'm glad someone found it! I was hoping the Japanese fanbase would weigh in on this.

I'm not sure it's an exact match, because he doesn't have that post-throw hop that comes from pushing off of his front leg or the dangling arms, or at least not in this footage, but this is definitely closer than a lot of what I've seen so far! Larry also doesn't raise his front leg at all.

Where does it line up? It's actually closer to Aoyagi's pitching when he's throwing from the stretch (with runners on base). You can see that motion here, and it's a lot closer. I'm going to continue to investigate!
