Call Out Post

The Shiunji Family Children (1 ep): Standard incest harem anime (extra derogatory). Was curious if there was a chance for BL but alas, the other brother has a normal girlfriend and is genetically related to 1 of the sisters.

Classic★Stars (1 ep): Not a single redeeming quality to this anime. The plot is ridiculous, animation bad, and every character is unlikeable. This is an inferior imitation of ClassicaLoid. Yikes. The obvious and intense Red/Blue rivalry slapped me with emotional damage AND the little blonde boy is super annoying! Awful, do not watch this one.

Once Upon a Witch's Death (<1 ep): I didn't even last 5 minutes until I was bored to tears and quit early. They implied snakes eat kibble. Yet another fictional Meg failure. Also, the old lady from Spirited Away is there??

Your Forma (2 eps): I was fine with the really pretty blonde android guy not having much of a personality, but you can't have the other main character that's human also have no personality. The structure of the first 2 eps are fast paced, without explaining anything (derogatory). Edit: I've been told that this anime is adapting Volume 2+ of the manga, which makes sense why the anime is Like That.

The Dinner Table Detective (1 ep): The main character is insufferable. Art style looks like the iphone photo smoothing that I hate so much.

Apocalypse Hotel (2 eps): It's cute and has potential to be a good emotional story in later episodes. I simply don't have the time nor energy to wait for it to get good. Doorman robot stays in my heart though.

Everything Else (Spring 2025)

Anne Shirley

Kowloon Generic Romance

Miru: Paths to My Future (5 eps)

In the distant future, humans create a robot named MIRU capable of traveling through time, visiting various eras, places, and even parallel worlds. Unlike some robots, MIRU isn't equipped with weapons. Instead, it helps people overcome immense obstacles peacefully, encouraging new beginnings without violence.

MIRU continuously evolves by interacting with people, learning and growing to assist those struggling to survive. It listens to their problems and offers support. By helping others, MIRU sets off a “Butterfly Effect,” of dramatic change guiding society toward a brighter future.

Why was MIRU created? What is its purpose? Can it save the Earth and humanity from a dystopian future?

Moonrise

Action Anime (Spring 2025)

To Be Hero X

A world where outstanding heroes are applauded. Here, "trust" creates superheroes. If people believe "he can fly," he will gain the ability to fly. Conversely, even if a hero has special powers, if he loses trust, he will also lose his powers. Trust is collected as data, and the ranking of heroes changes depending on the value. The absolute hero who stands at the top of the rankings, people call him "X". However, the ever-changing trust value makes the hero's path full of unknowns. (Crunchyroll)

The trailer shows multiple art styles ranging from Nimona to Panty and Stocking, but not together in a scene so it feels like an intentional choice that is related to the plot. I am super curious what this is about.

Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho

In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden called "Itsukihime" in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a young man who acts as the shrine maiden's guardian despite being a stranger, encounters a mysterious demon who speaks of the far future in the forest where he went to defeat it. From Edo to the Heisei era, this huge Japanese fantasy series follows a demon man who travels through time while continuously questioning the meaning of wielding a sword. (MyAnimeList)

Another one that sold me on animation quality in the trailer. Episode 1 is an hour long and took me 2 days to get through it.

This anime seems cute and fairly wholesome. You don't see ogres depicted like this very often. Also the supporting characters are a cute blonde boy, a cute goth boy, and a cat girl.

Honey Lemon Soda (1 ep): The main girl is so helpless and for what?? It annoyed me. The blonde love interest actually tells her to rely on him instead of learning to become independent. Also art style looks like modernized Clannad. I couldn't stand watching any longer.

Promise of Wizard (<1 ep): 100% mobile visual novel game turned anime. Badly.

Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You (2 eps): The main plot doesn't even make sense. All activities are canceled bc of the "pandemic"... except school is running as normal without a mask in sight. If the writers can't even follow their own rules, than I don't have hope they can write a compelling story.

Babanbabanban Vampire: Please don't watch this. This anime perpetuates the "gay men like young boys" propaganda in a really creepy way and I'm disgusted by it.

Finally, House MD as anime waifu. Also, perhaps, a little a girlbossing? as a treat? The show is trying really hard to have the audience see her as a Sherlock adaptation, but Americans know that House is superior.

Medalist

Becoming an ice dancer was not what Tsukasa Akeuraji had aimed for when he decided to take on the figure skating world. However, it is where he ended up as he "started too late" to follow his true solo-skating dreams.

For years, he was content with being a shell of his former ambitions—that is, until he met a little girl in whom he saw himself. Inori Yuitsuka, a fifth-grader so desperate to skate that she practiced in secret, had visited Tsukasa's rink with her mother to ask for lessons. She was branded as useless by everyone around her, told it was "too late" for her to begin, and that catching up to other skaters was impossible.

I've heard good things about this one. Mostly that the kids in this story are written with realistically so the audience feels like a proud parents when they accomplish their goals.

This anime is the superstar of the season. There's lot of long building hype for one and the trailer exceeded expectations. People will be talking about this one when it airs.

Zenshu

After graduating from high school, Natsuko Hirose starts her career as an animator. Her talent quickly flourishes, and she makes her debut as a director in no time. Her first anime becomes a massive hit, sparking a social phenomenon and earning her recognition as an up-and-coming genius director. Her next project is set to be a romantic comedy movie themed around first love! However, having never been in love herself, Natsuko struggles to understand the concept of first love, and as a result, she's unable to create the storyboard, causing the movie production to come to a standstill. This anime was a mystery to me going into it because I had NO IDEA what the main premise of the show was. I only saw the main character design and that she's an animator -and I knew the people behind this had been cooking up something great. You can tell people put love and passion into this show. yeah, this one is really cool.

Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms (2 eps): This anime felt too dumb (derogatory). Of the ~5 named characters I saw, I didn't find any of them endearing or entertaining to watch. Also the robot aliens are annoying.

Blue Miburo (5 eps): First 2 eps were promising, then I stopped understanding the plot direction. One of the good(?) guys murdered a comrade for no reason and no one cared?? Also eps 4-5 were so boring that this anime felt like a waste of time.

Yakuza Fiancé (3 eps): Relationship seemed toxic as hell (derogatory) so wasn't planning on watching it, but then I saw a bunch of hype for it so I gave it a shot incase there was badass girlbossery, which was only minimal.

Action Anime (Fall 2024)

Dandadan

This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.

To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?

This show has lots of hype for it and will definitely be one of the most popular this season. First 2 eps are NOT playing around and really throw you right into the plot AND they build up to it and introduce the main characters & environment organically. The main characters have so much personality that just seeing them interact is enjoyable as well.

Blue Miburo

Historical anime have been great the past few seasons. Elusive Samurai last season was fun, hopefully this samurai anime is also good. The main character guy is also kinda cute. This anime doesn't start for a few more days so posting without seeing it first. I'll give this a few eps to see if it holds up.

365 Days to the Wedding

Takuya and Rika are coworkers in a travel agency in Tokyo. They're both single, but they don't mind, since they're introverts with fulfilling lives at home. Rika is desperate to avoid the transfer and goes to Takuya with an idea: if they pretend they're getting married in a year, they can stay in Tokyo. Blue Box

Taiki Inomata, a third-year student in junior high, attends Eimei Academy, an integrated school with a major sports program. Jock x jock romance! I wish the main girl was more visibly muscular. The main couple are enjoyably normal teenagers, have complex personalities, and also communicate with each other... mostly. Also, the animators are popping off.

How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer

^^^ ...straightbait? promise?? THE WOMENN ARE RIZZMASTERS W?HAT THE FUCK. 1 episode = 30 minute gay panic (24 min for the anime, 6 min for occasional pausing to calm down). I don't care what this anime thinks its doing, nothing happening here is straight. I highly recc this one to all my friends.

Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror (4 eps)

In the town of Kurouzu-cho, Kirie Goshima lives a fairly normal life with her family. As she walks to the train station one day to meet her boyfriend, Shuuichi Saito, she sees his father staring at a snail shell in an alley. Thinking nothing of it, she mentions the incident to Shuuichi, who says that his father has been acting weird lately. Shuuichi reveals his rising desire to leave the town with Kirie, saying that the town is infected with spirals.

But his father's obsession with the shape soon proves deadly, beginning a chain of horrific and unexplainable events that causes the residents of Kurouzu-cho to spiral into madness. (MyAnimeList)

Another anime with lots of hype this season. It's only 4 eps so even if it's not great, it's not long. It is definitely freaky to look at, don't watch while eating.

15th century Poland!! You don't see anime like this hardly ever. Oh boy I hope it's good and has at least a touch of historical accuracy... please? Studio MADHOUSE is making this one so I have expectations it'll at least look cool. First 2 eps go hard btw.

I thought the cute pink hair guy was the main character with cancer, but it's actually the black hair guy. Pink hair guy IS however, a softhearted himbo so I love him nonetheless. Also a realistic diverse cast of women with personalities in this anime.

Poster alone made me think it might be gay, and then the last sentence of the synopsis also seems gay. But the trailer portrays them as just friends so don't get your hopes up.
