I think this is probably supposed to parallel how aono felt about his mom. When we saw her full body she looked so similar to kariya's former appearance, too (mostly the long black hair). And the way that he's talking about his achievements (I did good on the test, I know how to play this song on the piano, etc) feels like something a neglected kid would say to their parent.

So thus far, according to people who knew him in life, aono was "such a creep" (fujimoto) and a "piece of shit" (teppei). Which is surprising because thus far that stuff has mostly just applied to dark aono and not normal ghost aono. I wonder why he got that sort of reputation
