Books I've read in 2025: 'The Raven Boys' by Maggie Stiefvater | YA Fantasy | 4/5
"Aglionby Academy was the number one reason Blue had developed her two rules: One, stay away from boys because they were trouble. And two, stay away from Aglionby boys, because they were bastards."

He probably won’t come back, she thinks. Or he will, differently. What they have now they can never have back again. But for her the pain of loneliness will be nothing to the pain that she used to feel, of being unworthy. He brought her goodness like a gift and now it belongs to her. Meanwhile his life opens out before him in all directions at once. They’ve done a lot of good for each other. Really, she thinks, really. People can really change one another.

LITERATURE SERIES: Jane Austen

“Mornings at 300 Fox Way were fearful, jumbled things. Elbows in sides and lines for the bathroom and people snapping over tea bags placed into cups that already had tea bags in them. There was school for Blue and work for some of the more productive (or less intuitive) aunts. Toast got burned, cereal went soggy, the refrigerator door hung open and expectant for minutes at a time. Keys jingled as car pools were hastily decided.”

“ what they don't realise is this: yes, they frighten me, but i have always been scared, since the day i got here. i was raised by the man who murdered my parents, reared in a land of monsters. i live with that fear, let it settle into my bones, and ignore it. if i didn't pretend not to be scared, i would hide under my owl—down coverlets in madoc's estate forever. i would lie there and scream until there was nothing left of me. i refuse to do that. i will not do that. ” — jude duarte from the folk of the air series

Books I Loved In 2025: Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
Some of us never manage to get the chaos under control, so our lives simply carry on, the world spinning through space at two million miles an hour while we bounce about on its surface like so many lost socks.

I’m back on my lunar chronicles bullshit and Carswell Thorne the man you are. Man finally meets a girl who thinks he’s cool and goes “aw shit guess I gotta live up to her expectations” And then he DOES. Sacrifices himself over and over again for Cinder’s cause while currently spiralling over the fact that he left Cress behind. Takes the reins when Cinder and Wolf get captured without a moment’s hesitation. Punches Jacin in the face and then hugs him for keeping Cress safe. Carswell “I’ve been waiting for you to admit you wanted my body” Thorne. Carswell “I’m not sure I’m happy with all of you cutting into my profits” Thorne. Carswell “She looked like you” Thorne. Carswell “Tell Cress I meant it” Thorne. I will never be normal about him.
