i think it's a bit weird that there is a chunk of the internet that thinks "anti-intellectualism" is when adults read YA books or whatever. like sure personally not engaging with challenging art sounds sad and boring to me but in the greater conversation about anti-intellectualism's presence in our culture and its effects on society i just kinda think bringing up "people are reading problematic romance books uncritically" is basically a non-sequitur.
