Ooooo!!!!! So much info to take in! Tag me all you want if it means more space to infodump.

First off, familiar dragons sound awesome, I love that it matches the characters strength. I think after Tommy dissapeared Teddy will definitely need his familiar more then ever to keep him sane (from his family, lol) (I say 'more then ever' because I FEEL like he might've hated it before, though I'm hoping he didn't have an ego hit from it being weak like him and did actually like it), little support creature, and its HIS! a little mushu sounds adorable. I have to wonder if them having dragons is because of their rarity as twins, I wonder if it's exclusive to twins in that world or if theres something else going on to make them so unique....

Second, HIS BROTHER DISAPPEARED A FEW YEARS AGO??? I can definetely see how this is gonna create an interesting reunion. I wonder if his brother is gonna end up being crazy powerful or something like a certain character and his brother is disturbed by who this stranger with his brothers face is now (thats my theory atleast, I really hope he doesn't join the darkside and come back to try make his brother join too.... they need to bond after all those years apart...) (my brains fried from shigbros) (actually, why not more evil, more angst for table 3 please!) Because what do you mean 'crazy stuff'.... what mischief is Tommy up to.... So much mystery aswell!! Why didn't his brother come back?! No, why did he leave at all?!!!? Or why didn't he take Teddy with him?! how could he leave his dear brother!! And above all else, why send bounty hunters (or travel helpers like u say) after him instead of seeing his brother himself!! Ahh, so many questions... you have me intrigued.

Third, I think Teddy going on a travel quest in general is great. Hes getting some independence after his babied life and no overbearing twin to limit him either. I think its good he gets to develop his own personality without any... influences. And make some friends too! Though this'll probably have a major effect in the twins relationship though, differing values... (where have we seen that before!). I have to wonder aswell how his family feels about him going to retrieve an 'inheritance' (if you go for that), are they still around babying him by then? is he a teen, or an adult now on his own? curious I am... and now I'm also wondering how Tommy leaving affected Teddy, who was so used to feeling like a 'unit identity' because of his brother. Gosh, that would've been hard to come back from.

The fact you have an idea for the characters already his great, I can't wait to see it all fleshed out in full.

I’ve always been a fan of complicated and often creep-filled familial relationships. I have also always been intrigued by twin relationships, especially as a vehicle to explore the human condition, well before I found AFO and Yoichi. Knives and Vash partly started it ALL THE WAY back in the late 90’s!

So, well, hell! How about I write something involving adult twin brothers and, better yet, I’m going to have the TTTS(twin to twin transfusion syndrome) happen too because I honestly LOVE the dichotomy—physically and emotionally—it presents.

Names and general concept I have for them currently are:

Theodore is the younger, smaller twin. Although he grew up sickly and his medication/hospital stints were costly, he was always treated like a baby by his parents and the favored twin. Despite this, Theodore doesn’t particularly enjoy his parents’, specifically his mother’s, doting and wants to be self-sufficient. Though there was a short period where he felt anger towards his brother because of his affliction, he realized that, even though he got the short draw in terms of his physical health, how his twin has been treated is wholly unfair. Theodore holds much resentment towards his mother for her words and actions against his brother. Theodore is often called Teddy, but only his twin is allowed to call him Teddy Bear…more so due to his twin’s anger over anyone else calling him by that pet name.

Thomas is the older, larger twin. His childhood was rife with accusations that it was somehow a direct fault of his own that Teddy ended up the way he is. His father was a bit more nice to him than his mother, but often gave in to his wife’s unfounded anger towards her son. The only person in Thomas’ life that ever showed him genuine love is Teddy which has caused Thomas to have a dependent relationship with him and an unhealthy unit identity. Due to his parents’ vitriol, Thomas crafted a tough exterior that would push people away—from both himself and his twin. Despite Teddy’s assurances that he doesn’t blame Thomas for anything that happened in the womb, he can’t help but feel immense guilt, specifically fueled by the words he grew up around, for his twin’s condition. Thomas believes it is his duty to care for Teddy and can be incredibly overbearing. He is easily pushed to jealousy when Teddy dares to mingle with other people. As a direct result of Thomas’ desire to care for Teddy, he became quite industrious and always looking for ways to make money, though it was also a means to finally get himself(and of course Teddy) out of their parents’ house. Teddy calls Thomas ‘Tommy’.

But…what should the setting be?

I have a few ideas that have popped into my head and am curious what everyone else thinks! Here’s a little poll!
