Life!
Wow, time really flies. I can’t believe how fast time has been going. I think the last post I did was back...in August? July?
I am happy to share (with the 3 people who still follow this ancient blog) that I finally went full time! I’m now (and have been since September 17th) full time concierge at YACHT & BEACH!! Yes, you heard me, I’m BACK HOME! I randomly checked transfer genie one night and all of a sudden I see CONGRATS U GOT A TRANSFER and when I saw Y&B I was in disbelief!
I am so happy to be back. I’m already back in the lounge, and working 6 day weeks and doubles. My body is so sore.
I’m still waiting to go to my Concierge Classes at Disney University. I can’t wait to get lobby trained, so hopefully I can get retrained at the club desk.

It’s so crazy to me how cp’s are finding out their work locations and housing information before they even get down there! I SO wish that was a thing when I was a cp!!!
What are everyone’s thoughts on the new process? Good idea or bad idea?
Either way, I am super excited to read everyone’s experiences on their opportunity of a lifetime! Welcome to the Disney Ohana!
If you have any questions at all about the journey you are about to embark on, please ask me! I’ve done a few college programs, and I would love to talk to you!

Traditions!
So my traditions was yesterday! This was my 3rd or 4th time attending this class, so I don't think I’m going to spend much time on this post. It’s pretty much embedded in my memory for life.
But Traditions did feel like a cult welcoming, and it is for sure drinking the Disney Kool Aid.
But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My facilitators were wonderful. They were even abe to dig out some emotions from me, even though I had been awake for 20 hours since I just flew in on a red eye flight.
Everyone at Traditions seemed pretty excited to be there. This was my first “non cp” traditions, so I was curious to see how new hires would react. They were a lively class, and a lot of them seemed to be re-hires.
All in all, it was fun. I was not happy that I didn’t get my Blue ID, so yay trip to access control in the morning -_-. I’m guessing my watercraft manager either lost it, or access control didn’t file it correctly. Whatever. It’s fine, I guess!
Today was my last day at Marriott. And Im super excited to go back to Disney. I know in my heart that this was the right choice. I’m so so so ready.

Leaving Marriott
has been an awkward situation. I’m not really sociable or friends with my coworkers, so I’m never sure how to bring up that I’m leaving. Well, word travels quickly in my department and the marketing department. Once one person knows, they all do. So someone said it, so I didn’t have to! Which made it easy I guess.
It’s been a mixed bag of emotions. I’m not really going to miss anyone there. I don’t even know them. But they basically all asked why I would leave my well paying job for Disney…who we all know is not the best paying job out there.
It’s hard to explain, but not at the same time. I know I love working for Disney. I love being an *actual* concierge. I gave Marriott a shot, and while I do live comfortably and have amazing benefits, I just am not happy. If I’m going to be working for the rest of my life, I want to be sure I’m enjoying myself at work. I feel like any moves made in Marriott are horizontal, but Disney has so many opportunities to move vertically within the company.
I know I’ll have to start from scratch with Disney, but I have full confidence in myself that I can make it work.
I am also debating whether I want to find another part time job, or if I want to dedicate my extra open hours to picking up shifts. I’m just worried about if there will be nothing to pick up. I’m just browsing to see what’s out there.
