Melchior's dark side was present from the first movie, likely originating from his father's murder.

Melchior is an amazing Apothecary but a lousy chef

Man cooks only out of necessity and practicality

Week 13 of posting about Melchior
Melchior has a soft spot for young adults trying to make their own way in the world. This is due to his own youngly received apothecary status.
This can be seen with how he cares for Kilian and Hedwig in movie 1

✨️Windows✨️
One may say it's just the best way to do lightning in a medieval movie, but what if it could be more

We at melchiorposter HQ believe windows can represent the connections between characters, but more on that delusion another day.
For now enjoy these screenshots from the first movie

Hin's bookblogging
Currently reading: "Melchior the Apothecary: Ghost of Rataskaevu street" (loaned from mel)
First of all, why is the age and time continuity so different for book vs movie
Second of all, why does Melchior have kids
Third of all, why is there this ominous unexplained curse on the Wakenstede family
Anyways, in general it has been interesting to read the book and see the differences and similarities with our dear movies. Currently about a 100 pages in.
Talking of the polycule:
H: Still get excited at any mention of the Dominican church. Always want to see more of our boy. AND was blessed with a lore dump.
"They were saying in town that Brother Hinric knows how to draw evil spirits out"
K: First scene with her felt lackluster, but she came back around, has a bit more of a "wife of character x" feel than I'd like, but that may change.
"Keterlyn uttered something rapidly in Estonian meant to keep evil spirits away"
W: A lot of little sprinklings of him have appeared, lovely to have him around. Also, Melchior "sly wink"-ed at him.
"All the town guards knew that the apothecary was a favourite of the magistrate[Wentzel]"
Also not to show my preference, but melric:
Established 10 years of being "good friends"
Melchior says he missed lunch, and Hinric immediately gets him some
"Doleful smile"
"No, Melchior, no"
The way Hinric says his name I cant
Proud Melchior
Also them being the town's power couple for supernatural matters
Rating?
Like the book so far, the mystery is engaging and I do love piecing together the mystery and what I know from the movies. Should include more Hinric tho.
