“Fine fine, maybe I will just buy a new bar, one across the road and then I will have all the customers and you’ll just have to come and work for me instead and then you’ll see we could have just done this the easier way with you staying in bed.” He liked that she wanted to work really, he just didn’t like that he had to entertain himself whilst she was gone all day. For a clever boy he wasn’t very good at it now he didn’t have the option of flirting with anyone that came into sight with him. “I have always wanted to get married.” He admitted, the flush on his cheeks clear. “I mean my parents are soppy as hell, and I think they’re gross most of the time but they’re also like super in love and I always wanted that. I just never really found anyway that well….made me feel like I was going to get there.” The other girls had all annoyed him or bored him or he’d just been a general ass with them and he wanted to tell Addy that she was different but he was pretty sure that would scare he out of the bed. “But with the right person, nothings stopping you you’re right.” Finley mumbled choosing to press a kiss to her lips instead of confirming it with words.
Addy chose to lose the ‘fight’ about the bars, seeing as Finley seemed like he was just going to keep on one-upping her every time. She chuckled as she shook her head. “You, Finley Westbrook, might be kind of insane, you know that?” Insane in a good way, though. Or mostly a good way. Listening to him talk, Addy couldn’t help but smile. “That’s really sweet, though. That your parents are still in love like that. I never really got to see that side of it, but I don’t really think that’s stopped me at all. I just suppose, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve thought about it less and the possibility of it happening is lower. I mean, nobody’s really gonna wanna marry you when you’re a shrivelled old maid, right?” She shrugged a shoulder, only slightly joking. When he kissed her, Addy happily melted into it like she often did whenever he kissed her. “This might seem like a loaded question to ask someone of your age,” she mumbled after pulling away. “But how do you think you know if it’s the right person?”

“Oh yea I mean I’m a total dream boat and I’ve arrested at least half of them over the years. Never the worst one luckily enough for them otherwise their phone call might have been seriously delayed….or not because I wouldn’t risk my job.” He was pretty soft too, and there was a good chance he’d dial the call for him. “Well now you’ve just asked for it but alright, I’ll make a book of jokes and at random points in the day I’m going to test ‘em on you.”
“You are a total dream boat, Bennett. I don’t know how anyone hasn’t snapped you up yet, and I bet half of those school people are still single for all the wrong reasons. I imagine it would be super satisfying to arrest your schoolmates, though, oh, to see the looks on their faces,” she chuckled at the thought of some of the people she herself had gone to school with. If only. “Hey, I volunteered. I’m up for it and I’m so ready to hear all those jokes you’ve got.”

star whinnied appreciatively behind her grinding her hooves into the dirt. mj clucked her tongue leading the horse over by her rainbow-colored rope. “damn, and here i was hoping that you’d finally left finn for me. my door is always open.”
As she reached up a hand to pet the horse, Addy chuckled. “Oh, had I known you were so interested, I would have left Fin weeks ago. He’s got nothing on you, honey,” she grinned. “And you have horses. Win-win.”

“The hypothetical child? I love how you call your future child, or children that.” She grinned at the other girl before nodding. “Though to be fair, baby food barely has any taste so to have your kid develop taste buds, I’d add a little seasoning.” She had done that with her baby girl and was pretty sure that was why Avantika had such an extensive palette. “God I know, sometimes..I’m going to sound like a horrible parent, but you know I love my baby, it’s just sometimes I really wish I could go back in time and make a few different choices.”
“I mean, what else am I going to call them? They’re hypothetical children,” she grinned and shrugged at Maya. Children were barely even in the picture. “Add seasoning to the baby food? Interesting tactic. I’m pretty sure my mom didn’t do that with me because I’m nearly the fussiest person I know when it comes to food.” She’d been cooking a lot for herself lately, but that didn’t mean she was going out, buying fancy cookbooks and trying to replicate fancy recipes. “You could never sound like a horrible parent, Maya. I don’t think that’s even possible. It’s normal – everyone has things they wish they could change.”

When I was trying to make my name as an actress, creative roles for women were limited, I didn’t want to pick up another script where I was the wife or the girlfriend— just a catalyst for the male story line. It was uninspiring.

A strong hand reached down and grabbed the man by the back of his shirt, lifting him to his feet. “You all right, sir?” Kyle asked, giving him a pat on the back. “Why don’t you go on in here and have a seat, someone will be with you shortly?” Passing the gentleman who had tripped off to one of the nurses, his face was drawn for a moment before he took a deep breath. Clear it out, one at a time, he thought to himself before he stepped into the next exam room. “Good morning, I’m Doctor Morgan,” he said, he said, folding the file and putting it under one arm. “What can I do for you today?”
There was just a tiny bit of her that felt wounded pride at being at the doctors for something as small as a cut hand. It was accidental, anyway – and she’d only been trying to properly cut a damn tomato, too, but the knife had slipped awkwardly and now here she was, hand wrapped up in paper towel. She nodded down at her hand. “Had a little bit of a cooking accident this morning,” she chucked. “Pitiful, I know.”

“Be thankful for that,” Maya told her when she spoke about not having tried baby food. It was only because she had to feed her child, and understand what exactly it was about the mushed up food that Avantika hated so much–needless to say, she realized why her daughter despised it. “I don’t think I’d try though, I mean it’s up to you whether you like it or not, and while it’s not terrible, it’s not that amazing either.” Maya chuckled before looking back at Addy and grinning. “The woes of adulthood right?”
There were plenty of times that Addy was more than glad to have Maya as a friend, and having her as a friend who had experience with a child of her own was one of the reasons – even though Addy herself was pretty sure children were years away for her, if at all. “Yeah, I’d probably try it anyway,” she shrugged. “I mean, gotta make sure the hypothetical child is eating something that tastes like... something. And I’m just too curious not to.” Addy chuckled and nodded along. “Oh, what I wouldn’t give to go back to the good old days.”

—JACK LET OUT a chuckle. “hey, you’d be surprised. In Québec there’s a law that you can’t park in front of your own garage. It’s just that no one enforces it,” He shrugged, the judicial system was full of old rules like that, they were actually pretty interesting to read about. “that’s probably much healthier, too.” he chimed in. “I couldn’t cook to save my life. I mean, I can cook on an open fire survival style, but for pleasure? Tom’s the place. I practically live here, even if the bacon is a little well done,”
“Oh, you’re kidding?! That’s ridiculous. I’d do it all the time just to spite whoever came up with the law,” she laughed, really only half joking – she wasn’t that much of a rule breaker, but the occasional rule did call to be broken. “I used to be a terrible cook. I literally burnt my toast every single day. It’s edible now, though, and I think I’ve mastered eggs for the most part. I’m spending a lot more of my free time cooking now, though. Just because it’s kind of going to be useful one day... you know,” she shrugged, “I’m gonna be thirty soon enough. I should probably be cooking and providing food for myself.”

—GABRIEL WAS HAPPY to see that she was being more open-minded. “Well, even if you don’t convince them, you’ll still enjoy the journey so where’s the harm!” He proclaimed, ever the optimist. His smile stayed, even at her self-jab. “Hey now, that’s not true. You know, people are most likely to be friends with people who are similar to them,”
“You’re not wrong there, especially as it ensures me a watch of Back to the Future, so I really can’t fully dismiss that option straight off the bat,” she flashed him a grin, but then shook her head. “Ugh, oh no. I’d be intolerable. Even if people are supposed to be friends with similar people. I’d get so sick of myself. I imagine there are a few people like me out there. But you – no way you could get sick of yourself. You’re so nice.”

felicity nodded, leaning back down to the ground on her elbows. “thinking space. i got you. what i brought is perfect for thinking,” she said, looking at addy with a grin on her face. “but seriously, what’s on your mind? no better person to talk about your problems with than an impartial stranger.” looking at the bag, she laughed again and put it in her purse. “yeah, this is a pretty nice spot to smoke. it’s nice, i can watch the sunset and the stars, and not a lot of people come out here. it’s really relaxing.”
Chuckling, she agreed. “I don’t doubt that, for some people, at least. I’ve heard plenty of stories,” she explained. Addy stifled a proper laugh at Felicity’s next words, though, because if there were anyone that she were to talk about any potential problems with, it would definitely not be a stranger – or an impartial one. She shook her head. “There is a lot on my mind that you do not want or need to know, so I’ll keep you in the blissful dark on that. Do you come out here and smoke often, though? Is there like... a weed smoking group or something...?”

“Of course you were - I mean if for no other reason than you’re one of the only bar tenders in town that hasn’t asked to squeeze my ass for a free drink.” When the bar tenders were cute it wasn’t like she minded, but some of the other ones still thought it was funny to try every time she entered a place and it was boring at this point. “Oh did Melrose get wifed up? Do tell. I didn’t think you were the type. Some business man swoop in on you?” She taunted as she nodded and began to walk next to the other woman. “You could buy another at the mall.”
“Yeah, you’re safe from that with me. Any bartender that does that deserves all the shit you’ve probably already given them.” Addy had met a few bartenders in her time that were like that, and she’d given them all a piece of her mind before, too. Laughing, she shook her head. “I’m sorry, wifed up? I wouldn’t go so far to say I’ve been wifed up, but... taken? I think that’s a way to describe it. He’s not a business man, though. Far from it, actually,” she chuckled. There was no need for her to really keep secrets when it came to her and Fin, anyway. “I probably will.”

“Sure was, there were a few others I got as well, they didn’t make it into the year book thanks to the teachers and the other kids lack of general manners.” He’d been an easy target in high school, he was on outcast and different and it didn’t matter if he was one of the biggest kids or on the football team the taunting happened anyway. “Hey now you can’t just put a man under pressure like that and expect him to perfect, don’t you know anything we get shy.”
Addy frowned a little at that. “Well, joke’s on them because look at you now. You’re probably doing better than all of them combined, buddy,” she assured him. “I didn’t say you had to be perfect! I’m giving you wiggle room. You’ve got plenty of time to work on them and get them perfected. And then, over time, you can test them out on me. And I’ll even do it for free.” As if she’d ever do it for anything else.

felicity laughed. “suit yourself, girl,” she said taking another hit. she looked at the blunt for a moment, thinking, and then put it out and into a plastic bag. she got up from the ground and walked closer to the woman. “so what brings you out today, miss?”
Addy had honestly only ever smoked it once in her life, and she hated it, so she was kind of glad to see the other girl putting it out before coming over to her. “I’m just getting some air,” she shrugged. “Been cooped up inside for the night and all morning. In need of some thinking space, you know? I’m guessing what brings you out is that?” She nodded to the bag.

finlxywestbrook:
“I’m just saying….” He smirked, he was well aware of the first time she had hit him in bed, and he was pretty sure it was going to be something that she never let him forget. Luckily the fact that he had lied ever so slightly about his age before he had ended up in bed with her was a funny story that they could laugh about now. “Well if she’s worked hard then I will just make sure I give her a really good pay out. The trust fund could cover it baby.” Not only did he have rich parents that had put into it, but two set’s of rich grandparents, rich god-parents, he’d had the odd job here and there, he had a good amount of money. He was about to lay back down before the weight of her words hit him and he realized that he had started this conversation “No….” He flushed as he looked at her, realizing what it was that he had said to her, he hadn’t meant to be that person, but not it didn’t seem like she was going to let them live that one down either. “If I was marrying you , it would be because I wanted to marry you, and be with you forever, the booze thing well that would be be a bonus.”
Addy still laughed often about the memory of that morning and considering the look on Finley’s face about that, it seemed he found it amusing, too, which she was glad for – especially because, at first, he hadn’t been so thrilled. “Shush, you. You’re not buying the bar or giving her a good pay out from your trust fund. You’re keeping that money for yourself and that’s that,” she spoke a little forcefully. After all, the money was his. He deserved to use it in a way that benefitted him – not just so he could keep her in bed. What surprised her the most, though, was seeing how flustered he became as she commented on his thoughts on marriage. She smiled a little as she looked at him. “I didn’t think you’d be one to even get married in the first place, honey,” she hummed. “But I suppose if you meet the right person at the right time... well, what’s stopping you, right?”

f-elicityclark:
felicity sat on a picnic blanket in the park, farther out by the trees so she was away from most people. it was legal there, but she figured people still didn’t want to be around a bunch of weed smoke. she was considerate like that. she stuffed weed into a broken cigarello and lifted it up to roll it. she tucked the bottom lip into the top lip and rolled, licking the edges to get them to stick. as she rolled, someone else had approached her area and sat down in their own spot. since they had came there, she didn’t mind smoking in front of them. lighting it, she took a long drag and blew it out. “hey,” she called. “you wanna hit it?”
It was accidental, Addy stumbling across the smell of weed. She screwed her nose up at the smell and was starting to regret sitting down and getting comfortable so close to it when a voice pulled her out of her own head. “Do I wanna hit it?” She shook her head. “Uh, no. I’m past my weed smoking days... by like fifteen years.”

“look, if you want the table, play for it,” the male quirked a mildly challenging brow. needless to say, running the pool table at the local dive for the past two hours may have started to go to his head. after draining the remainder of his beer, he proceeded to lean over and smoothly pocket another ball, just for show. the grin that followed was just a bit more boyish and proud than it was smug. “for the record… i don’t exactly plan on losing any time soon.”
“Is that a challenge I hear?” Addy was up for it immediately. The second anyone ever suggested a challenge, there was pretty much no way she could back down on it. “I’m pretty damn good at pool, you know. I could kick your ass in it no problem.”
