I don't normally make posts like this, but I just happened to finish my very first novel in a fantasy novel series I am writing, which is the main reason this blog have not been posting memes lately, so I wanted to make a short post to give myself a small promotion.

The description of the plot: The gods world has seen peace since its creation. However, as the regions gradually become overcrowded and rulers more corrupt, they find themselves at the edge of war, needing only one last push. When an ancient plague returns to threaten them after a long slumber, will it be enough to finally push them over the edge, and turn the gods against one another? Or will they put aside their differences and come together to fight against a common enemy?

The book series is called A Fable of Gods, and the first book is named Aria of the Accursed.

I had a question on how to word something. One of my old rp mutuals is no longer rping and made their blog into a personal. And I wanna ask if she their delete the old rp threads and such off her blog, for organizing reasons

Don't worry, it's nothing about drama, more that I'm cleaning up, so to speak.

I'm just wondering the best way to request this, as I'm pretty bad at putting out my words, you know? Just don't want them thinking tey did anything wrong or something like that

You don't have to answer if you feel it doesn't fit in with anything, but I'd love to hear your advice. Hope it makes sense what I'm getting at

Hello! I imagine the best way to ask would be to just ask almost like you did here. Something along the lines of "Hello! I saw you've made your blog into a personal blog, and was just wondering if it would be okay if you deleted our threads from it now that it's no longer a roleplay blog?" and then maybe just add your reasoning for why you prefer it to not be on her personal blog. In most cases, people don't really take offense if you request something, as long as it's nothing personal against them. Hope it works out for you!

Which do you think would be better as a page for a multimuse blog? A coded template, or carrd?

I think generally more people are moving over to carrd, google docs, google sites, etc to be mobile friendly for their mutuals who are often using mobile rather than laptop. Either that, or they have both a coded tumblr theme / page, as well as a mobile friendly page, all depending on how much time and effort they're willing to put into their pages. I'd say if you want to keep your blog as accessible as possible, go for a carrd (or even a google doc, or google sites if you have a lot of muses and don't want to pay for a carrd pro to get all your information on all your muses in.)

Do you have any advice for making a muse list?

Not quite sure what kind of advice you're looking for, but in general... (Putting this under a read more since it's not a meme)

Add muses to your list that you are actually interested in trying to write. Don't be afraid to try out new muses, but don't be afraid to drop muses you are not feeling either (You can always add them back later!)

As for designing the actual site, first choose whether you want to create a list on your actual blog, on google docs, on google sites, on carrd, or somewhere else. - If you want to use a page / theme code for your blog, then find one that you think looks neat that are also easy to edit. I would personally go for a theme / page code where you have the list / overview of all your muses, and then a link that is either a tab or a pop up with the actual muse info for each muse in the tab / pop up. - If you want to use google docs, there are a lot of great google docs templates out there if you just search for "google docs template multimuse". Or if you're somewhat familiar with how to use google docs, then you can pretty easily make a neat-looking doc yourself, too, with a little bit of experimenting. Or you can keep it simplistic / minimalistic. - If you want to use carrd, there are great tutorials on how to do that, however if you have a lot of muses, it can become a challenge to stay under the 50-something elements limit, so I don't recommend carrd if you have lots of muses, unless you're willing to pay for carrd pro. - Google sites can be confusing at first, but it's a great in between of google docs and carrd, with no element limits. does tumblr ACTUALLY glitch and unfollow people? i've only been on here a short time but that has never happened to me unless i unfollow when i mean to send an ask. i have yet to encounter tumblr soft blocking or unfollowing someone without me doing it

tumblr has been known to do this from time to time over the years, yeah. not everyone experiences it, but there are a lot of people who find that blogs they followed have randomly been unfollowed without them personally unfollowing said blogs.

with tumblr often glitching and unfollowing people on accident, reblog this if it is okay for (former) mutuals to message you if they notice you suddenly unfollowed them out of nowhere, asking if it was a mistake — granted if it wasn't, the person remains respectful of your decision and leaves it at that once they get an answer.

everyone can reblog this, but i figure this is especially good for those of us who use the (soft) blocking feature if we decide to unfollow someone instead of just unfollowing. this way, we can be alerted if tumblr has unfollowed a friend of ours without us noticing, as well as the other mutual not having to have anxiety about you suddenly hating them or worrying that you'll get upset for them asking if it was a mistake or not.

this, of course, does not mean that you are okay with people pushing to continue conversations with you if you say you unfollowed them. let's all be adults here.

A little recommendation for you all!

With this whole Beta Editor seeming to be pushed forwards for new blogs, and likely all of us as well (which you can read more about in other posts floating around in the RPC right now), I just wanted to make a little recommendation for you all.

Send FEEDBACK to Tumblr. And by that, I DO NOT MEAN you should complain to them about everything wrong about the Beta Editor. Please do not be mean or negative if sending them feedback, because one) there are real people behind the screens, as much as we tend to forget that sometimes, and two) if you’re only messaging them to be mean, then you’re really not contributing any solutions to the actual problem, nor do you make it appealing for them to hear you out if you do actually have suggestions / contributions.

So what I recommend is sending constructive feedback in a positive tone! How might that look like, you ask? Let me give you a small example of how you can format your message:

I just switched to the Beta Editor, and I have noticed a few things that currently makes it a bit difficult to use, and I have some ideas on what might make the Beta Editor better / easier to use. Right now, in the Beta Editor, it works like a,b,c. This makes it harder to use because d,e,f. I think a way that would solve this problem / make it easier to use is if it worked more like x,y,z.

The reason I recommend us all doing this, is because the more feedback Tumblr gets on certain things, the more likely it is that they’ll one) actually consider changing something, and two) make it a higher priority to change said thing faster.

After all, the more something is requested, the more reason they have to actually consider it.

Now, how can you send your feedback to them, you ask? If you click your little avatar-icon at the top right of the screen, and then on the drop-down menu, you click on ‘? Help’, as shown in the image below, you will be taken to Tumblr’s help center site.

In the top right of the screen, you will see a button that says “Contact support”.

Click on it, and a sidebar will show up, with a space where you can fill in a category, your message, add an attachment if needed, choose a relevant blog, and your account email for them to message you back.

In the category dropdown menu, choose Feedback. Other than that, you don’t really need to add anything else, other than your actual feedback message, although if you think visual aid to show the problem you’ve encountered might be helpful, you can always add some screenshots and attach those.

When you click ‘Next’ Tumblr will automatically find relevant information to the words you’ve used in your message to see if they have solutions that might help you out. Just click on the button that says you didn’t find what you were looking for, and for it to send your message anyway!

the “yes, and-” approach & why it’s important in rp.

i think most people are at least somewhat aware of the yes, and- approach, but for those who aren’t, here’s a quick rundown of it. the yes, and approach basically started out as a concept for improv comedy (but it is extremely useful for rp as well and we will get to that). the approach is basically that no matter what your fellow actor presents to you, you shall not negate it, but instead roll with it. now why is this important in the rp community? well, i’m sure we’ve all been there at some point, on one end or another. two people are rping together, but the thread doesn’t seem to go anywhere, and might even get dropped due to it. and it might look a little something like this:

muse one reply:  “hey, you don’t look so good. are you okay?” muse two reply: “yeah, i’m fine.” muse one reply: “are you sure?” muse two reply: “yeah. thanks though.” muse one reply: “okay, if you say so. i’m carla, by the way. what’s your name?” muse two reply: “kate.”

you probably get the gist, that muse two does not really engage in anything. they never ask questions, they don’t build on anything, they just reply to what has already been said. this way, all the focus is put on muse two, and none of the focus is put on muse one. this will get very difficult for muse one to work with after a few replies. a better way for muse two to write replies here, might be “yeah, i’m fine. i just got off of work, so i’m just a little tired. thank you, though. how are you?” or when muse one asks if they’re sure “no, actually, i got into a struggle” or something like that. this way, you have your muse build on the story and drive things forward and give muse one something to reply to.

you don’t necessarily have to have your muse say anything either, if they for various reasons don’t usually talk much. have them do something. think something. react to something. show something. anything that the other muse can then respond to.

but the yes, and- approach isn’t only useful in character, but out of character too!

when you want to interact with someone or just get to know them, it’s a good idea to use the yes, and- approach here, too. an example below of what happens if you don’t, which i’ve personally encountered a lot is this:

mun one: hello! wanna plot? mun two: sure, i’d love to! mun one: cool!

here, mun one is asking to plot, but when the other agrees, they don’t come with any ideas themselves, nor asks if the other mun has any ideas. i’ve seen this kind of interaction keep going for quite a bit, with mun two trying to make some effort, and mun one continuing to give one-word responses. this will make mun two feel like all the plotting responsibility is put on them. instead of simply writing short 1-5 word responses like ‘cool’ and ‘sounds great’ and ‘i’m down’, try to engage by following up with some questions, like: 1) what would you be interested in? 2) do you have a wishlist? 3) what verse and/or au should we have our muses interact in? 4) should we do something pre-established or do a first interaction? 5) how do you think your muse would react to xyz?

this way, you’re actively driving the conversation forwards. this is important that both muns do. after all, roleplaying, talking, as well as plotting is a two-way street. you kind of need both to put in some effort to get anywhere.

some pro tips about running a multimuse blog;      sometimes, running a multimuse blog can feel overwhelming because people are excited to write with your muses and send you lots of memes and there’s a lot of interactions going, and though you love your muses to bits, you’re not going to feel inspired to write all of them, all the time. this is completely normal, first of all. if you keep receiving things and struggle to reply, of course it’s going to start feeling stressful. so here’s some tips on how to hopefully make it less stressful for you;

1) make your blog mutuals only or mutuals being the highest priority. this can help lower the number of interactions you get a little if you feel too overwhelmed trying to interact with everyone and / or it can help lower the stress of having to reply to non-mutuals quickly.

2) make your blog low-activity. if you don’t want to stress with replies, make it clear in your rules / on your blog description that you are low activity. this way, people who follow and interact with you, will know that sometimes they have to wait longer for replies.

3) give your muses statuses. for example, those muses you have a lot of muse for can be active, those you feel a little less can be slow / semi-active, and those you are unsure about can be test muses / low-activity / plotting only, etc. this helps both you and your followers know which muses you’re going to be most active with or have the highest change of getting a response quicker to.

4) surround yourself with patient people. this is kind of a no-duh, but if you don’t want to feel stressed about replies, try to focus on finding people who have it in their rules that they might be slow with replies and/or they are fine with you taking your time. people of similar mind that reply speed =/= interest. as much as it’s nice to have people excited about a thread, it should never reach the point where you feel pressured to reply, so it’s good to surround yourself with other, patient people who won’t mind the wait.

5) stay firm about it being ok to take your time and being selective. it’s just as important to stay firm towards yourself as it is towards others. stop apologizing for taking your time. you can keep people updated that you’re too busy or uninspired or whatever to reply, but don’t apologize for it. the more you practice this, the less you will start to feel guilty about it, too, which you shouldn’t! after all, if you think others should be allowed to take their time, why shouldn’t you? the same goes with only writing certain muses of yours for a while. that’s okay, too. let people know those are the muses you have the most inspiration to write right now, but don’t apologize for it. it’s okay.

6) be okay with removing your muses. if you’re no longer feeling a muse, don’t feel pressured to keep them on your blog list. remove them (for now) and if you feel inspired to write them again, you can always re-add them later! look at it as giving your muse and yourself a holiday. it’s surprising how much this can help in having them return to you later. and this way, you won’t have to receive memes and such for muses you are not feeling so you end up feeling guilty for not replying to it.

* flowered sky  /  free all-in-one multimuse theme.

This is an updated version of the flowered sky theme, as I figured it looked neater with all the pages in tabs rather than a mixture of both tabs and pop-ups. This theme includes:

A tab for the askbox.

A tab for rules.

A tab for a canon muse list with short summaries of each muse, including links to a tabs page for each individual muse page, with stats, verses, and mains / exclusives.

 A tab for ocs with the same tabs pages for each individual muse.

A tab for links and tags.

I used various free base codes to make this, so I do not claim to have made this from scratch. You can see the credits below, as well as in the code of the actual theme! I have, however, put a lot of time to customize all the base codes to make it functional for a multimuse blog, and I have made the background and links and the PSD I used on those myself.

You’re going to need a bit of html coding knowledge to customize / use this theme, although I have tried to leave in enough tutorials within the code to help you with the most important things. If you’re still having trouble, I recommend checking out the plenty of tutorials on how to customize themes and html coding created by others! On the off-chance that I should’ve forgotten to give credit to someone, or have credited the wrong person, please kindly let me know so I can update the code as fast as possible to include the right credits! Same goes if you find any errors with the theme that makes it not work as it should.

if tumblr just updated the dash for you with this ^^^, and you want it gone, if you install ublock origin from the chrome webstore if you use google chrome (or for the web browser you use, i guess) you can right click the area a little right of the ‘manage...’ tab, then click “block element” as shown in the image below 

and it should highlight the whole ‘following, for you, manage...’ area in red, like the image below. 

a little pop-up box will pop up on the right bottom of the screen, like shown in the image below. just click the ‘create’ button, and it should be removed from your dashboard!
