“It’s called drinkin’,” Maya answered, throwing back a shot. It was her first time at Nina’s and she already loved it. She already had a buzz on as she hummed along to the music. “You know, that thing people do when they come in, and wanna get a buzz or somethin’?”
He had been back all of two minutes when he’d seen the news about the Clave attacks, sighing a little as he threw the notice onto his desk, stepping down into Nina’s as he glanced over the crowd. The Clave was still on his mind, the aftereffects of Blood Moon still in his mind. Finally, he settled on something in particular, brows contorting in confusion. “What the fuck is going here hm?”

“Hell no it won’t,” Maya scowled at the paper. The news of the Clave reached her offices and honestly, at first...she really didn’t care about them. They’re the Clave, who Maya thought would be terrified of at first, then she realized as she looked at them again, that she didn’t really care. “If they die or go on trial, so goddamned what-the world will go on and no one will give a shit anymore.”
Ivan had heard the news, of course he had, he was pretty certain at this stage everyone in Hollow Grove had. He also knew there’d be a hell of a lot of residents who would be shaken by the announced trial for the Clave members. The newspaper was still sitting on the table in front of him outside the cafe and he used it to extinguish his cigarette - right on the picture - before immediately pulling out another one. “And so justice will be served,” he spoke idly. “Won’t change a fucking thing.”

Maya had just turned the corner, finally leaving her office after having a really good day.. Unfourtunately...she decided to lose her shoe before she got in her car, so she was currently spending the time looking though everything with her phone light, only to come up empty. “Fuck,’ she hissed before she heard footsteps. She turned her phone to see who it was, and gave him a little smile. “Hi,” she said in an awkward tone and a little wave.
With his head down, hands buried deep in his pockets, Ethan walked along the sidewalk letting his wolf eyes guide him through the pitch black. It seemed like the right time to come to town, new moon and all. New moon, new leaf. At least that was what he hoped. A new leaf and sanctuary from his father’s deranged pack. But before he could fall too deep into his own thoughts, a bright light blinded him. Turning to face it, Ethan pulled the hood from his head, squinting thought the light in an attempt to see who, or what, was coming his way.

Arthur raised his eyebrows as she shouted over the music at him. “I don’t really have one,” he admitted. “I’m familiar with a few of her songs but I wouldn’t say I have a particular favorite. I suppose her recent albums have been more varied and interesting with their subject matter than others.”
She nodded as she kept dancing. “They have, haven’t they?’ Maya asked as she thought about it. “All of them aren’t the same thing like her last couple albums. They aren’t about love and romance and breakups and stuff-well some do, but this time it’s all different, you know?”

Nina couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of the woman singing drunkleny and clearly having a great time. Even if she almost fell. “Oh, well, I honestly wasn’t too crazy abut her last two albums, but I did like Fearless. The song and the album.”
Oh yeah, she’d nearly forgotten about Fearless-Maya always thought about her current albums and her latest songs, but her old albums and songs made her want to have a dance party. “I’ve always forget about those albums,” she admitted with a little chuckle. “I’m always listening to her new ones instead of Fearless...I used to sing White Horse all the time when it came out.”

“I’ve never had siblings.” She shrugged and watched the woman for a few moments. “However, I can understand. Worry over family can be pretty overwhelming. Do you know if he’s okay?”
She nodded. “Yeah, I know he’s alright,” she assured her. “I talk to him almost every once in a while, but he’s okay.” Maya just couldn’t tell her that he’s in jail-and that she put him in there. “Our relationship is so fractured that I keep thinking that there’s no chance of us getting back to where we were in Summerdale.”

“Yeah, I like her more upbeat ones,” Ezra said, with a shrug of his own. “Not that I have a problem with relationship songs, but her more pop-type songs are just more fun, you know?” He chuckled. “I forgot she even had a new album, to be honest.”
“I know,” Maya agreed with a nod. “Me neither, but honestly her pop-type songs are the best-I can listen to them all day and all night without getting bored.” As for the relationship songs, she forgets them and pretends that they doesn't even exist, just waiting on her more fun songs so she listen to them.

“I’m not the only one who bites people, love. Everyone bites people, I’m just not afraid to hide it,” he told her. He had to laugh at her last words. “You think I’m holding them captive? Like some poor damsel in distresses, caught in the thrall of a vampire? Darling, they are choosing to be here. They could leave anytime they wished to.”
Maya let out a squeak when he said that, and then let out an aggravated sound at his laughter. “Anytime...I don’t believe you.’ she admitted, crossing her arms over her chest. “Prove to me that they can leave.” Maya told him with a dead voice.

The woman shrugged her shoulders. “More money than I probably make in a year.” She replied with a laugh. “Or maybe it’s free? Sort of just a gift to celebrate the community?” she suggested. Perhaps she was wrong but it was a nice thought.
‘Maybe more than me,” Maya agreed with a nod before shrugging at the free idea. “Maybe,” she said. “Though if she does come back next year, I’m sitting in the front row so I can see her up close.” This year, she wanted to do it, but sadly she didn’t get there in time, but next year she was determined to be front and center, crowds be damned.

Nessa was curious about what the case was that the other woman had won, “that’s good, I think the festival is a great place to celebrate,” She said, smiling. “It’s always nice to have some good luck in life,” Nessa said, her smile wavering a little. Her luck didn’t normally stay good.
“Oh that I agree with,” Maya said with a nod. A festival was the perfect time for her to get drunk, enjoy the music, and drink as much as she could. “A festival is always a good way to forget your troubles.” she said with a chuckle just thinking about it. “I need all the luck in my life if I’m going to be the best lawyer ever.”

“Always seemed like there was somethin’ extraordinary about her.” Ryan admitted with a lopsided smile. “That’s a fair point, though. M’not gonna be able to listen to all of ‘em. Gotta eat and drink at some point.” The smile grew even more crooked across his lips — he enjoyed the hell outta monster jam. Good music and food. A nice atmosphere to share with Allison. Hollow Grove knew how to throw a good party.
She nodded in agreement. “Yeah you do-and after all that eating and drinking, you’ll still be having some entertainment, even while you’re eating.” Maya said with a tiny laugh. This year she’ll be going to Monster Jam by herself-which sucked, but honestly at this point she didn’t care. Maybe next year she’ll go with her brother and have some fun.

“Considering how big this place is, it’s kind of impressive how many people are here.” Lifting a cup to her lips, Dylan takes a drink before looking around. “Seems like they know how to throw a party. Hopefully the concerts will be enough excitement for people.”
“I know...” Maya trailed off as she looked around, a small, tiny, pang of guilt washing over her as she thought of her brother once again. “They do, don’t they?” she said absentmindedly. “Hopefully...because honestly, these concerts look fun and exciting too.”

clara-ellis:
Passing through the crowd, she stopped with her hands out to steady a girl who bumped into her. Seemed as if maybe someone had gotten a little more to drink than maybe expected? “Taylor song?” Clara repeated with a short laugh. “I’ll be honest with you. I don’t really know many of her songs. She’s not my cup of tea.”
She nodded, understanding. “It’s okay,” Maya assured her with a nod. Taylor wasn’t her cup of tea as well, but she’ll listen to her every now and again. “Who else you like instead of Taylor? OMG-are you excited for Cher?!” she asked drunkenly, hiccuping.

Everleigh tilted her head curiously at the outburst and offered one of her small smiles. “Nothing to apologize for. Most men probably deserve some level of exasperation, don’t you think?” She nibbled on some cotton candy and offered the plume. “Would you like some?”
Staring at the cotton candy, she nodded as she took some. “I do,” Maya agreed while chewing thoughtfully. “Though said man is my brother, and I can’t help but think about him when he’s not here...and that’s okay do it, right?” she asked. “Just..thinking about my brother when he’s not here?”

Vanessa pulled her clothing down, making sure it was where it was supposed to be. Looking up, Nessa gave the woman a once over, checking her for injures as well. At that instant, Nessa noticed that she didn’t actually know the woman she had ran into, but she didn’t know if she was from Hollow Grove or just here for the festival. “Are you okay?” She asked.
She nodded. “I’m good,” Maya answered with a soft sigh. “Actually, I’m more than good-I’m perfect. Just won a case and now I’m ready to relax, maybe party a bit, have a good time and go to sleep. Maybe.” she said with a shrug and a little smile.

As the music festival went on Cassie was able to get used to the booming music, large crowds, and everything that came along with it. Now she could enjoy herself without getting a splitting headache for staying around more than an hour. She smiled at Maya when the woman turned to her. “Shake it off! It’s so uplifting, I love it! I hope she plays it, I know it’s not one of her new ones anymore.”
Maya turned to Cassie and nodded with a huge smile,”Yes, I love that song!” she agreed. “I could honestly sing that song all day if I could. I even play it sometimes before I go into the courtroom.” she admitted with a little chuckle. “I haven’t heard none of her new ones yet, but maybe tomorrow or when I get time I’ll listen to her new ones.”

“No song,” Ever screamed back, thankful for the foresight of her experience, the earplugs she’d brought were doing the job nicely. Though had it not– she might have already gone deaf. “She’s boring,” she told her, a little more quietly this time. “You sound like you could go up there and join her though, you should try it.”
‘What me? Nahhhh,” Maya shook her head. She wasn’t a really good singer-she thought she was downright terrible at singing. “If I go up there, then I won’t get down, and everyone will hear drunken Maya sing drunken songs she made up and her school’s fight song.” And she thought no one would want to hear that.
