So....
I watched Mark play The Secret of the Mimic yesterday and it triggered some INSANE Bonnie shifts despite the fact I wasn't even in the video (or the game? Idk he hasn't finished yet).
Because of this I've been watching FNAF tiktoks, but specifically Bonnie edits!
They're amazing. I love them all.
Anyways. I came across an edit of Glamrock Bonnie with the whole "I may not have my guitar, but I'm still gonna rock your world!" AND THE COMMENTS?
FERAL.
FER. AL.
People were simping. BEGGING. For ME?
I now understand how popular tiktokers, masktokers, standardly pretty therians, etc. feel because.... ew. I know I'm a fictional character, so they're not really hurting anyone but that was WILD to stumble upon. Jfc

Ok, I want to make this abundantly clear.
I do not like funlinkers. They make me uncomfortable.
Choose how to identify as you wish. Just dont interact with me if you're gonna yap about it.
Identities from trauma or for coping are one think (still dont see how that's voluntary, but im a little more understandable with that), but using my identity FOR FUN just makes me uncomfortable to think and hear about.
You can identify as you please. Even interact with my posts! Just please dont comment, explain, or reblog and make it about funlinkers they make me uncomfortable, and it makes my identity feel like a costume.
Im not gonna hate on anyone, I just qont be interacting back 🫶

So, shifts are more like the animalistic tendencies getting stronger, i.e. during a mental shift, you mentally act like your type. This isn't what I experience. Rather, kin/typeflux is just the identity itself getting stronger, not so much the tendencies related with that it. Does that make sense?
I can try to reword it, but I don't experience many (and therefore don't fully understand) shifts. When I've explained my fluxuations to other alterhumans, they never brought up shifts, so Im assuming there's enough of a distinction.
Okay, I can't find a term that fits this so I'm joining this flux term for my alterhumanity;
Kinflux/Typeflux - when one's nonhuman/alterhuman identity isn't steady, nor fluid, but rather in a state of flux. The same identities are present, but the strength of them changes.
Unlike Fluxtherian, one's alterhuman identity is always the same (always a theriotype, hearttype, etc) and does not leave its bounds. Rather, it only becomes more/less present at times
I.e I always identify as Bonnie/a jackal/Na'vi/etc. but the strength of these may change due to triggers (source) or at random.
I'll make a flag eventually but I don't currently have access (or brainpower) to something that will allow me to do as such.

I think otherheart and otherpaw identities should be welcomed in the community, and should not be forgotten amongst the range of labels.
However
They are not therianthropy. Therianthropy is strictly involuntary. Alterhumanity - to identify in a way as non-human - is not. Alterhumanity is the umbrella label which encompasses fictionkin, therianthropy, otherheart, otherpaw, otherkin, etc. Some of those identities are indeed voluntary, others are not, and that distinction helps people find others with the same experiences as them.
The differences should not divide our community, but they do help to bring people together in an easier way.
Some identities you can't choose (i.e gender, sexuality, etc). Therianthropy is the same. It is involuntary, but voluntary identities amongst the alterhuman community as a whole do exist and should be welcomed in alterhuman spaces.
Physical Therians exist and are a part of our community.
Therians who are unaware of their humanity exist and are part of our community
Therians with disabilities exist and are a part of our community
Therianthropy is not voluntary, it is not about gear, it is not something you choose to participate in or leave (although you do not have to interact with the community)
There is a wide spectrum of Therians out there; discrediting any of them is extremely rude. Therians are Therians as long as they understand what that label is and identify with it.
Stop saying therianthropy is strictly spiritual/past lives, that it is strictly non-physical, or that all therians are aware of their humanity (esp. if you say it's at all times)

To add on/break it down;
Therian; involuntary identity of animals on this planet (there are subcategories for extinct, non-earth animals, fictitious species, etc)
Otherpaw; to roleplay as an animal (masks, tails, quads, etc)
Otherheart; a strong connection that may/may not influence the sense of self
Otherlink; voluntary identity
Kinning; to strongly relate to a character (often from a show or movie)
I may not be new to this community, but I am new to many of the labels in it and wanted a place to get the most common ones out. There are likely others, but they're more obscure, and I don't know them, but feel free to add on 🫶
Physical Therians exist and are a part of our community.
Therians who are unaware of their humanity exist and are part of our community

Rather than writing a comment, I'm doing it here 🙃.
"Therians still know they're human" is a generalisation that many therians do understand that their body is still human. Therefore, they must act accordingly. We're in human disguises almost. We may not be human, but (many, there's always outliers) understand that they must eat, dress, act, treat their body, like that of a human with to stay alive and fit in with the greater populace.
Your comment of "therians don't actually believe they're animals, they still know their normal people, they're just pretending for fun" is not a therian. If that person claims to be therian they are misinformed. Therianthropy is an involuntary identity of any kind. You identify as an animal. You feel like an animal trapped in a human body. You feel like an animal wrongly perceived as human. Anyone who just acts like a therian (quads, masks, tails, etc.) is otherpaw (people who roleplay as animals) or otherhearted (a strong connection to an animal or character) key word there is connection.
Therianthropy and alterhumanity are identities, otherpaw is doing it for fun (which is completely fine may I add, they're just not therians), and otherheart is a strong connection which may or may not influence sense of self. This can be involuntary or voluntary as far as I'm aware.
I hope this clears stuff up, and if anyone has any questions, I am always free to answer! I love being able to teach AND talk about my identity 🫶
I feel like often what younger therians mean when they say ‘therians still identify as human’ is actually ‘therians understand we live in a human society and must function within our human body, despite our being not human.
Despite who we are, we still live in a society of humans. Unless you have (with all hope and luck) moved of the grid and into nature and live amongst the animals, we will have to preform human tasks in order to survive. That is just simply a given for any person within a human body, human or not.
We understand we must pay taxes. We understand we must go to work and school. We understand we must care for our human bodies despite how incorrect they may be. We understand that we will interact with humans, and doing so typically requires us to preform human.
What they have yet to understand is the point is to be as animalistic as possible. If I get stabbed, I’m not just going to lick my wounds and bleed out. I’m going to get in my human car and take my human bleeding to the human hospital so they can fix me as they would a human. We can still preform human and we understand we must. However that does not mean we cannot act as animalistic as possible. Everything I have just listed above can probably be altered a little bit to most accommodate for us. We can wear a tail and go outside in nature with our laptop when we do our taxes. Those who can work can find jobs that are closely related to their kins. At school you can find likeminded people, develop a safe group for everyone to express their animal nature when not doing work. We can draw paws on our feet. We can bark. We can go on rollercoaster and try so hard to pretend we are flying. We can do human things in animalistic nature, and that is ok, and that is the goal.
We are not human, we are whatever creature we say we are. It was not our choice to live in this human world. If we could pick I know most of us would choose differently. But we do live in this world. And we will respect that, but we will also live as truly to ourselves while doing so. And that cannot be stopped.
‘Therians don’t identify as animals’ I feel is young therians trying to say what I just said. In their attempt to do, make antis understand this, they said something extremely incorrect and extremely bad for furthering our normalization in society.
Side note: this, both my claim and what the younger therians think, also leaves people who DONT understand all these things in the dark, with no representation, or love and acceptance towards them and their lived experience. I need to understand their perspectives a bit more before I can make any conclusions on where they fit in this conversation. All I knows is this leaves them out, and they should not be left out.
Plz add on with any additional thoughts/comments or any points I was incorrect on and need to be re-educated. But also plz be nice I’m very sensitive to criticism.

I prefer the term alterhuman personally, but I change it depending on which kintype I'm talking about (Shark is a theriotype, Bonnie is a fictikin, etc)
Theriotype is a lemon shark (and a canine-esque creature I'm trying to figure out) while my 'types consist of Bonnie, Horror/gore conceptkin, a wyvern, and others which I'm not gonna list, but I have them on my blog
Most obscure 'type is definitely my horror/gore conceptkin
Fish, raw meat (when prepared properly ofc), fruits, even pomegranates bc they look bloody sometimes :)
Blue, yellow, dusty purple, red
I own two tails, one black with a blue tip and one that's white/dark grey speckled. I want to make a lemon shark tail and make/get a mask
The community and the style it gives me while I socially transition to my species
Being perceived as human when I'm actually not
Swimming, diving, aquarium visits, cosplay/art, and music
I try but it depends on my type, sharks don't have much music I can find, but the other ones (especially Bonnie w/all the FNAF music) are easier
PLUSHIES and jewelry. I have shark plushies (3), shark figures (2), and oceanic jewelry (shark tooth necklace, anchor bracelet, seashells) but not much stuff for my other types
Yes, especially as a physical therian
I was a furry before I was awakened as an alterhuman, but I do have a fursona that is a lemon shark
I don't really have any atm but I'll share more on the blog when I make some
I am sipping on my water bottle right now!!
nonhuman asks
what term(s) do you prefer to be referred to as (otherkin, therian, nonhuman, etc.)?
what are you(r kintypes/theriotypes)?
most niche/obscure 'type?
what foods do you associate with your 'type(s)?
what colors do you associate with your 'type(s)?
do you own any gear? if so, what is it?
best/favorite thing about being nonhuman?
worst/least favorite thing about being nonhuman?
what activities help you connect with your 'type(s)?
do you associate any music with your 'type(s)? do you have a playlist?
do you collect anything besides wearable gear that you associate with your 'type(s), such as plushies or merch?
do your 'type(s) influence your sense of style or the way you dress?
would you consider yourself a furry? if so, do you have a fursona? is your fursona based on one of your 'type(s)?
draw or share your artwork of your 'type(s)?
this isnt a question but a request that you drink some water!
authors note: feel free to reblog! other beings can ask you questions from this list, or you can simply answer them all yourself.

Physical Alterhumanity
I am unsure what sort of physical therianthropy/alterhumanity I am; I've been using the term transspecies, but that's not quite it. I already see my body as non-human, the only reason I'd 'transition' physical into one of my theriotypes is so the way people perceive me is the same as the way I perceive myself.
Physically, I am a shark, or Bonnie, or some weird canine-esque thing I am still trying to name with paws and ears and fur and a swishy tail, but I need others to perceive me as I perceive myself because they don't.

The fact that people IRL don't see me the way people online see me is crazy. You've never seen my face, you see me as the little freak I am with ears, or fins, or claws, or nashing teeth, but the people around me just see little human girl which isn't correct, in any way
