Probably wasn’t good to admit that, but he didn’t really have any excuses lined up to throw out at her. But from the looks of it, she wasn’t having any of it either way.

“I wasn’t going to do anything afterwards. I just didn’t want to cash out on buying a hotel or whatever it is out here.”

          She didn’t know that he had made this kind of mistake before. If she did, she’d likely scold him but right now she was only glaring at the stranger. His excuse wasn’t a good one and his common sense should’ve told him that what he was doing was wrong.

Well, this was definitely a sticky situation he got himself in. Again. He knew he should make mental notes on situations like this so he could avoid making the same mistake twice, but who has the mental energy to do stuff like that?

“Okay look. I know this looks really bad, but how was I supposed to know you guys didn’t allow people to randomly sleep in the banisters.”

“All I heard is that I don’t need to do anything right now, so later.”

If I’m lucky she won’t find me tomorrow and I could skip out on whatever she wants me to do.

Though with his life he won’t get out of it that easily.

            “Good because tomorrow, I’m going to need your help big time.”

For now though, he was off the hook for the day. The letter could wait to be read another day until he was with her so she could glare if it mentioned he wasn’t behaving or showing the proper respect.

“No need to tell me twice. I’ll get right on that.”

Now hat was one order that he could get behind no questions asked. If he was lucky, he could go the rest of the day catching up on his sleep.

A shoo of her hand’s, a gesture that told the other he was free for the day. No more activities were required and him and honestly, the last thing she needed was a stressed out Jaser.

         “Go sleep, relax, do what you need. I have paperwork waiting for me anyway.”

“Yes ma’am. I’ll make sure to get right on that just as soon I can find the time. Because I have other things I definitely need to get done first, like catching up on my sleep and making sure I’m not too stressed out.”

           “Right, forgot about that.”

He was useful when he wanted to be, at least in recruiting new member’s. Still, the fact his personality was about as nasty as his magic was an issue.

           “Fine, I’ll give you that but that’s it. Maybe try improving your personality a             bit so it’s less like your magic and more human, hmm?”

“Because you know no matter how much I may unintentionally annoy you, I’m probably the only person who’s good enough to officially weed out all the weak willed mages that can’t cut it facing a little bit of terror. Come on, admit it.”

       “You’re the only one who pisses me off to this extreme and you know it.         Constantly harassing me, knocking papers off me desk, inviting people         who aren’t even mages to join a guild? I mean really, why do I even          tolerate you if you’re gonna be this much of a dick.”

“Ah yes, what a wonderful way to run a guild. “Come on down and join Dragon Scales. We only accept the best of the best, and if you piss the guild master off, she’ll drain you of your magic, so watch your tongue around her.” Yes, that’s just great.”

       “Oh so it actually would kill you to be nice? Good to know that I can always         expect you to be a total dick then. Maybe I shouldn’t bother bein’ nice to         ya at all and see how ya really like that. Just drain your energy whenever         ya annoy me.”

“Oh don’t start with this. I’m not going to just put on a “Oh I’m annoyed with you but I’ll throw on a smile just to spare your feelings” face just to get on people’s good side. I’d rather be dead than actually have to go through that.”

        “Oh look, you just pointed out the issue.”

This man, he was by far the most difficult person she had to deal with or would ever have to deal with.

         “Maybe you should actually try to be, oh, considerate every so often and           actually mind what people are feeling. I swear it won’t kill ya.”

“Oh god not this shit again...I’m sorry I couldn’t care less about people’s feelings. I try to keep to myself, and people have to butt in. Not my fault they’re so thin skinned and stating a minor opinion is just a complete no-no!”

         “Just mindin’ your own business half the time, huh? If you call teasing people           and making fun of them mindin’ your own business then yes, you do tend to           do that a lot.”

Or maybe that was just her.

“D’you honestly think I keep track of stuff like that? Most of the time I’m just minding my own business and I get in trouble! Seriously, it’s not my fault everyone around me is all uptight.”

Spinning around she faced the mage once more. Heaving a light sigh she walked back up to him, patting his shoulder gently.

         “I know you don’t try, you just have a rather bad habit of pissin’ people off in           general. I mean, how many times have you gotten in trouble since I even took           over the guild?”

It was to much, the number too high to recall. It’d been at most two months and the numbers were staggering.

Though, having her in this sort of “happy angry”, if that’s even a thing, was just as bad, if not worse, than her just being mad at him. Why was she just hard to read?

“Yeah well, it’s not like I try...”

Better quit while she’s ahead, and actually leaving him in one piece.

Cue a smile spread on her lips. Not the usual smirk but a soft smile, warm and inviting as she looked at the other mage. Light giggle bubbling through painted pink lips she shook her head gently, before walking towards him.

        “Of course I have a nice side, Jaser.”

With that a hand quickly reached up, grabbing his shirt and with a quick and forceful tug, pulled him down to her level. Where the smile once was it had faded into a smirk.

        “You just have a habit of bringin’ out the worst in me.”

Promptly letting him go after she began to walk away.

It was kind of creepy to see her actually calm about that whole mess. Not that he actually went out of his way to stress her out with stuff like this (not matter how amusing her reactions were something), but this, was just weird.

“Hey look at that, you actually do have an emotion other than bitchyness directed towards me. You actually have a nice side to you.”

         “Which I do thank you for.”

He’d been known to bring back some weird ones. Some of who weren’t even mages at all.

          “But Jaser, c’mon, ya gotta tell me about this kinda stuff. If you don’t            and I just get a random message, I worry okay? Just, tell me next time.”

Honestly, she didn’t feel up to dragging this on, she had more important matters to attend to like the stack of papers in her office.

Crap...

“I didn’t see what the big deal about me making a random stop after you kicked me out of the guild for a while. It’s not like I brought back some complete weirdos this time around.”

         “Really?”

Holds up a letter with the Blue Pegasus mark atop it.

        “So this letter has nothing to do with you at all? Not your handy work          or, gee, forgetting to tell me you met with someone while away?”

“Whoa whoa whoa! Your’e sounding like I did something terrible. Who’s to say I actually had a nice and peacefully mini vacation where nothing happened?”

she was fierce. she was strong. she wasn’t simple. she was crazy and sometimes she barely slept. she always had something to say. she had flaws and that was okay. and when she was down, she got right back up. she was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. she was unstoppable and took everything she wanted with a smile.
