Here’s a little story: I found out about the contest just as it was about to end and so I speedran this and finished it in 2 days… Maybe its not the most impressive drawing when compared to other submissions but considering the time constraint i was on, I think i deserve a pat on the back for the speed alone ;)

Something that I don’t think gets addressed with anemo boys often enough

do me a favor and ignore any critical failures. consider the concept. xiao, hypercompetent and extremely fucked up, in another world.

he’d fall to pieces. no, really—he would fall to fucking pieces. has he ever been independent in his life? no. is he op as fuck, especially for the setting? yes. (he can’t fight arceus, but he can damn well try. people though, trainers? well. he swore an oath not harm mortals, but this isn’t liyue.)

he’s never had to take care of himself, ever. he doesn’t need to eat, he doesn’t need much of anything. now, though, he has a dependent, and he’s got to figure out how to take care of something for the first time.

and in doing so he starts taking care of himself, and living for himself instead of for liyue. :)
