I love how Gavin Reed’s only character trait is ‘being a ginormous asshole all the time’.
ALSO: the context of this picture is that I couldn’t stop thinking about this video during that infamous coffee-scene so now you’ll all have to suffer with me

post revolution, but instead of RK900 being all “I’m superior to you, RK800” he feels like shit all the time because he was designed just to replace Connor (Connor being the one who would have been ‘decommissioned’); so RK900 tries to stay in his corner and not show off his skills at all, withering or trying to sneak away all the time, always making himself work just below Connor on every skill level
Bonus:
RK900’s programming is still telling him to kill every deviant… and since every android is a deviant now he feels even worse

"Who are you?"
"I'm a Cyberlife executive, Amanda Stern." The bodyguard next to her offered him her business card. He ignored it.
"And why are you here?"
"We're here because of your brother."
Sixty grimaced. "He's not here."
"We're well aware," Amanda said flatly. One of the guards put a hefty hand on the door. "May we come in?"
Sixty attempted to shut the door, but it wouldn't budge against the man's hand. "Doesn't seem like I have much of a choice."
A guard pushed him out of the way as Amanda stepped in side. She walked in surveying his living quarters. He felt embarrassed about the state it was in, but a heavy mix of anger and anxiety distracted him from the feeling. The second guard closed the door behind him and stationed himself there.
No escaping now.
"Whatever my brother did, it had nothing to do with me."
"What your brother did was kill himself."
It felt like he had been punched in the stomach. No, that was impossible. "Connor wouldn't do that."
"He did."
"No, he wouldn't have…" Sixty leaned against the wall. His heartbeat was in his ears. They had to be lying. Connor wouldn't kill himself. He was the golden boy of Cyberlife. He was popular and rich and pretty much invincible. Wasn't he?
Amanda gave him a piercing stare. "Do you want to see the video as proof?"
Sixty snapped back to reality. Video? "No! Why the fuck do you have a video?"
She didn't answer his question. "Regardless, we're here because of his untimely death."
Sixty was still reeling. Was Connor really gone? He couldn't believe it. It didn't feel real. What were the stages of grief again? Was he in denial? "Did he leave me something in his will or something? Is that why you're here?"
Amanda scoffed. "As if he had any assets to will away."
"What do you mean?"
"Everything that he ever owned belonged to Cyberlife. He accumulated a massive debt."
That didn't make sense. None of this was making sense. "What? So you're here to collect? Sorry, but I don't have any money." He gestured at his shabby apartment to punctuate the point.
"Yes, we are aware of your financial situation. In a way, we are here to settle your brother's debt to us. You see, the shareholders are not going to be happy to find out the face of the Cyberlife brand killed himself. Our stocks would plummet."
"You fucking bitch! My brother died and you're worried about your profits?"
A guard stepped in between him and Amanda. Sixty shot Amanda a glare over the guard's shoulder.
"I was Connor's handler. His death is considered a great loss and affects me deeply, but I have a job to do," she responded.
Sixty studied her face. There wasn't a hint of grief. "You're lying. You didn't care about him at all, did you?"
"Of course I cared. He was perfect and obedient in every way. It will be difficult to replace him."
Sixty felt sick to his stomach. This whole time he had assumed Connor was living in the lap of luxury over at Cyberlife, but the way they talked about him told him a different story.
"Well, I'm sorry my brother's death was such an inconvenience," he said bitterly. "Why the fuck are you even here? What do you want from me?"
"We're here because we need a replacement."
There was a pause as Amanda stared at him.
"No, no, no, you're not—" He shook his head. "You don't expect me to replace him, do you?"
"Of course not. I don't think you're even capable of replacing him." She looked him up and down. "You just need to impersonate him."
"Get the fuck out," Sixty hissed pointing at the door. "You expect me to agree to this? I'm not going to pretend to be Connor so you and your stupid company can save face."
"Are you planning to pay for your other brother's treatments yourself then?"
Sixty froze. Nines. How could he forget?
Amanda smiled. He wanted to punch her face.
"Since your brother breached his contract, we are no longer obligated to pay for your younger brother's hospital bills."
Breached his contract? The way they talked about Connor was infuriating. But that wasn't the problem right now. The problem was that Sixty had no money and no way to keep Nines' alive.
"Fuck."
i started watching this donghua called "to be hero x" and that fucking whirlwind of a plot in the first two episodes had me going feral over the premise. it fed the writing brain worms and created this au.
in this au, connor is a model and THE brand ambassador of cyberlife. he's a celebrity personality that's considered beloved by all. meanwhile, sixty is his estranged twin that lives a completely separate life from him away from the public eye. cyberlife approaches sixty when connor commits suicide and they want to save face. the agreement is that sixty pretends to be connor in the interim as they transition their brand image to focus on another face over the course of the year so "connor" can amicably retire without the company losing all their investors. in return, they pay off all of sixty's debts and cover the expenses for nines' medical bills.
sixty believed that connor completely abandoned him to live luxuriously under cyberlife, but he soon uncovers that there was more to his picture perfect life than the public appearance suggests. as sixty pretends to be connor, he tries to piece together the pieces of his brother's life and figure out why he killed himself.
i've written a bit more for this au, but i have other fics and wips i need to focus on so i'm publishing this in hopes to appease the brain worms.
