Four years ago my heart broke into a a thousand paisley pieces as the news broke of Prince's passing. That year we lost so many awesome artists, but this one I felt deeply. It still breaks my heart.

I tried to channel that grief into my writing and created a series for the Miss Fisher fandom inspired by Prince and his music. Rest in Power. Paisley Park is in your heart.

Welcome new people

So, I don’t post often on Tumblr much anymore, quite a bit of my content was on my writer/performer blog (bbsanchezauthor), until that last round of regulations when they tried to take our smut. In fact, I debated about pulling out of both my accounts entirely over that bit of censorship. However, I am still here (mainly because of Miss Fisher Con). That, coupled with the chaos and upheaval in my personal life this past year Tumblr hasn’t been a priority, but know that I adore you and you can also message me to chat if I am not connected to you on other social platforms. (I am far more active on Twitter and Instagram) But I am still here, and definitely still queer. So, please feel free to peruse the archives, make yourselves at home. I will swan in and out like a Bed & Breakfast owner, albeit one who looks like Auntie Mame, and occasionally brandish you with fresh scones.

ACotA Auction Spotlight

The Adventuresses’ Club of the Americas is holding a fundraising auction with some fantastic swag donated by Acorn (which has the North American distribution rights for the upcoming film Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears), Poisoned Pen Press (which publishes Kerry Greenwood’s novels for the North American audience) and some of our amazing Adventuresses!

Phryne, Jack, and Mac Original Sketch Trio

You’ve probably seen Alex Hallberg’s art online (she’s also known as kid_n_the_art) because we featured her “There’s a Whole World Out There” airplane design at last year’s con, and it’s part of the Adventuresses’ Club of America’s website! Now is your chance to own a set of three of her original pieces.

These exquisite, hand-drawn and -colored portraits of Phryne, Jack, and Mac capture the very essence of what each of these characters is feeling in the moment.

Alex used graphite, Promarkers, and Posca acrylic markers to create these sketches, and each about A5 size (approx. 5.8 inches wide x 8.3 inches high) on art paper. They are unframed, to give you control over how you want to display them. Just imagine how amazing they would look on your wall or displayed on your mantel!

The auction will close at 10:00 pm ET on August 9, 2019. Bid early and bid often, because once it’s gone, it’s gone!
