☆ While the rationale of the other two made sense, Suletta had experienced enough of these "events" in the city at this point to be a little apprehensive about things playing out "normally" in any way. Even so, she would default to Miorine's judgment since she was probably way more savvy than her when it came to something like this.
"Nice to meet you, Mister Andrew!" When her bride called her strong, Suletta puffed her chest out confidently and her expression became a little bit goofy. Miorine didn't often feed her ego, so she had to roll with it a little bit, right? "I wouldn't say I'm that strong, but Miss Miorine always says I have a freakish stamina!" She pumped her fist into the air playfully.
She could understand Andrew's desire to not want to go alone. She'd lived a sheltered life on Mercury, and when she'd first come to Asticassia she'd been overwhelmed. Even now she wasn't the best in social situations. Back then, Miorine had extended a hand to her, so she wanted to help someone else the same way if she could!
"You can just hide behind me, Mister Andrew! I'll protect you! ...So long as I understand how to play and don't get disqualified..." Because that would have been a real problem if she didn't have the rules explained to her the first time.
@wildeheart -> @duelbride
Andrew wants to say that Miorine is right -- that the smart thing to do would be to put him and Suletta on two different teams. He wants to say that then, even if one of them loses the other can get a tomato, and Miorine won't have to worry. But, when he looks at the other competitors, at their eerily similar athletic builds and their perfectly styled hair, he's reminded of every kid who used to bully him at school.
"…Please don't make me go over there alone… P-please…" He finds him saying instead, staring at the ground, unable to meet the eyes of either girl. He's only just met Suletta, but he would much rather be around someone Miorine obviously trusts so deeply. He's pathetic. Miorine has reassured him since he got here, but he can't even bring himself to choose the objectively best strategy for her sake.
"I don't think we have to worry about elimination overly. In these types of shows, the losers just get sent home… Right?" Of course, being on Suletta's team means he can't just throw the match like he originally intended and go home, because that means Suletta won't have a chance at a tomato. He can't do that to Miorine, no matter how uncomfortable he feels. Andrew manages to pull his gaze up off the ground to look at Suletta for a brief moment.
"You're tougher than they are. I know it." If Andrew believes in two things: one is the inherent ability of spirited red-heads to stand up to bullies--
"And I'm Australian, so I kind of know the rules of rugby and hopefully won't be totally useless- and I…" --And two is that protecting someone you care about makes you stronger. "…I'll try my best."

dads are one of the things i wish the show had touched on for suletta at least a little, but she never really questions why she doesn't technically have one on screen. she never brings up what excuse prospera gave her or anything. she just never had one because she was a clone and never once thought it was that odd because she'd been manipulated to such an extent.

☆ "Um... Miss Miorine! Miss Miorine!" Suletta waited for her fiancée to finish pitching all of her ideas before she spoke up. Kind of! She was waving her hand as if she was a student asking for permission to speak. When Miorine inevitably allowed her to speak, it was only then she shared her thoughts candidly. "Do you think the other contestants are, um... not very strong?" They looked fit for sure.
She didn't really get why they were even going through this. She was already engaged to Miorine as the Holder she had chosen for herself. But apparently this was "showbiz baby" or something. That was what she'd been told when she had first complained. "I should probably be able to win pretty easily if they aren't..." Suletta wasn't bragging. She was just confident.
"But um... Doesn't the best course of action depend on..." She sheepishly tilted her head towards Andrew. "What happens to the loser if this is a show world? Would it be bad if he got eliminated?" If she treated this like an anime, then in scenarios like this the losers were often, uh, disposed of.
"I'm fine with whatever so long as Miss Miorine is okay with it. But maybe we should win a round together to see what happens to the losers first...?"

On tonight's episode of the Bridette...
Our self-proclaimed winner Suletta M. and dark horse Andrew P. are already a step ahead of the competition...
A scene fades in of Miorine R. speaking to the camera:
"I have no intention of picking anyone except-"
The camera cuts away.
Tensions are high as our 12 competitors await the tomato ceremony. But before then...
"I'm Chip Garrison, and tonight, on the Bridette, our competitors will be in a 6 versus 6 competition of...Rugby."
---
---
"Alright you two, we need to decide how we're going to do it. If you're both on the same team, you have to win, because the 'MVP' wins a tomato before the ceremony." She clicks her tongue, tapping her heel on the ground.
"Or you could be each on one team, so one of you can be given the tomato. Even if you're terrible, it'll just be a 'controversial decision' that increases ratings, so I think they'll allow it." Still, the issue with that is that both Suletta and the strange army of similar-looking men would probably crush Andrew, who was shaking like a leaf.
"I'll let you two choose, what do you think? As long as one of you gets the challenge tomato, I think we can make it through the tomato ceremony."

☆ Where Suletta always had a habit of sheepishly letting her true feelings slip out, she could always count on Miorine to present her own feelings in a much more succinct way. Some people might not have liked that way of communicating, but not Suletta. She liked that Miorine was straightforward, it helped her understand what she was thinking when she didn't consider herself to be especially good at reading others.
Sometimes she wondered if Miorine was like that with her on purpose for that very reason.
Suletta was kicking her feet as she listened to what her bride had to say on the matter. There was no hiding just how lovestruck the pilot was. Talk of getting married clearly brought a giddy expression to her face. "R-Right! If anything, this gives us time to, um... Well, I have some things on my list involving dates..."
"Would you like to help me check them off, Miss Miorine?" It was a secret page to her list that she'd put aside after committing to her post as Holder. At the time it hadn't seemed like the two of them would ever get to have that more conventional aspect of a relationship, but here it didn't have to be that way. "We could check one off tonight, if you'd like! Would you like to go eat at a fancy restaurant with me? I-I'll pay! I've been working odd jobs, so I have some money..."
She hovered her hand over Miorine's as if asking for permission. Only if her bride noticed would she take that hand and lace their fingers together.
The cherry tomatoes insulted her, small as they were, gently rolling on the desk, the light blinking off of them almost winking at her, much to her annoyance. Her cheeks were nearly as red as the reddest ones in the bunch as Suletta explained. She's guessed as much, based on Suletta's questions.
They hadn't gotten to spend much time together after reuniting, that much was true, but they had to much to do it made her feel a little insane. She abstained from biting at her already chewed thumbnail and instead bumped her knee against Suletta's again.
"I agree." She avoided eye contact, those eyes were so blue. Too blue, actually. The girl from mercury reminded her so much of her desire to go to Earth.
Which, she supposed, she may have done, somehow, in some roundabout way.
"I think that, given this opportunity to rest before continuing out mission at Quiet Zero, we should, um," she didn't want to talk about what could or couldn't happen at Quiet Zero. She had to believe they'd succeed.
"Spend some proper time together. Since we're betrothed, and it's been a while. If we're planning on getting married after everything is resolved, it would be...proper, right?"
She hadn't ever considered this outcome from the shitty deal she'd been handed regarding the Holder. She never thought she'd be excited about it, a flower blooming in her chest.
"If that's fine with you."

☆ "L-Lady!? Are you really important, like Miss Miorine!?" Miorine was basically the princess of the Benerit group, so there were plenty of people that treated her like royalty. Suletta's relationship with her wasn't like that at all, they were engaged, but there were people who acted like she was a real life princess.
"Oh! Well, to be a good roommate I think you just need to clean up after yourself and make sure you're not too loud, I think?" She'd gotten used to picking up after Miorine, but Suletta was pretty neat and tidy for the most part. She'd been raised to clean up her own messes. "I wouldn't say I'm an expert. I only started sharing rooms when I began attending school recently."
"yeah, it's fine. some of my friends call me lady veyle but i honestly prefer the casualness of just my name!"
wow, she accepted the idea of being friends so quickly! she was afraid her roommate wouldn't like her, but it seemed to be going the very opposite of what she expected.
"ehehe. i've never had a roommate before." she couldn't help the happy giggle that left her mouth, holding her gently clenched fists to her chest to try and contain her excitement. "i wanna know more about the city, but you're gonna have to help me be a good roommate too...! like what i should and shouldn't do— that kinda stuff."

☆ "Oh, really? Well... Ehehe... I could recommend a bunch to if you'd like! Like Winter Wars! Or Their Name!" It was one of the few things that Suletta actually knew a lot about. At least when it came to anime back home anyways! "Those aren't scary or full of action... Hm..." She found it a little surprising he didn't like action, but maybe because he was a pacifist?
"But they make anime movies in basically every genre. I'm sure we can find something that you'd like!"
"I... I dunno if I've seen enough!" Cop-out answer, but television and movies weren't much of a thing on a desert planet without satellite broadcast. Besides the radio and books that survived the Fall, most of his media consumption had been in the first year of his life, and then all of his life spent in Spirale.
"I'm not really the type for action or scary stuff. Kind of a scaredy-cat? But animation's got all those different visual styles, right? I think I get it. All that motion n'color... Expressive, in a way that actors can't be sometimes. Right?"

☆ "Mother's Day, huh?" Because it didn't really matter too much in Spirale, Suletta had essentially tried to stop herself from thinking too much about it. About how she had only recently learned that she was Repli-child, a clone of the sister she hadn't even known she'd had whose only intended purpose was to pilot Aerial.
She didn't like to remember that her mother was the one who'd used her, and when she'd gotten what she had wanted? She'd thrown Suletta away. It had all been done for her sister's sake. She had never been the child that Prospera had loved. It was Eri. It had always been Eri. And in the end, even Eri had tossed Suletta aside.
Now? At least back home, she had resolved to clash with her mother and sister. What they were doing was wrong. Eri's life didn't take precedent over the countless lives that would be lost to make their dream a reality. But despite it all... Suletta still couldn't bring herself to hate them. She couldn't hate Prospera. She couldn't hate her mother.
"She still raised me. I don't want to think that it really meant nothing to her in the end..."

☆ Wait, where had she gotten those tomatoes!? Did she have them on her when she'd arrived, or did she pick them up when the car had brought her in!? She watched in a trance as Miorine put them down, but didn't ask in case it was a stupid question. It didn't matter anyways, not when Miorine was telling her that she believed her. Because she'd expected a little doubt, that trust left her feeling giddy and she rocked from side to side until they bumped knees.
"Th-The part about Quiet Zero was enough!" The added confirmation that she was Miorine's groom again left Suletta's cheeks red and her smile wide. She looked away from her bride at first, but eventually calmed herself down to look right at her. There was a little hesitation because she was embarrassed, but she eventually took Miorine's hand in her own again. "But... I remember you being my bride, too!"
She didn't want to ever let that hand go again if it was possible.
"Um... I asked because just because we're here at the same time doesn't always mean we were at the same place in time beforehand... I just wanted to make sure... I mean... I didn't want to make you uncomfortable... B-But we're from the same time, so! In a way its nice... it feels like before we came here, we didn't really have a chance to just... spend time together again. I missed it..."
"A greenhouse would be good. I have to start from scratch. And find out what's going on with...well," she pulls out some cherry tomatoes, sighing as she holds them up for Suletta to see. "Whatever this place is, I believe you when you say that it's complicated, and difficult to understand. Why would they know that this would be something that would be upsetting to me?"
Miorine places the tomatoes down on the desk, and then goes to sit near Suletta. Her knees bump her groom's and she doesn't shift away.
"We were just about to launch the operation at Quiet Zero." She knows Suletta wouldn't make something like this up, and there must be something strange going on if Suletta's asking about the last thing she remembered. "If that's what you mean. If not..." She trails off, refusing to make eye contact. It's embarrassing, parsing her own feelings while not under duress.
"You're my groom the last I remember."

☆ "Oh, sorry!" Inexperienced as she was, Suletta totally misunderstood Miorine bumping into her as an accident and immediately went to apologize. It was probably because she was so tall that she was hard to walk beside, right? Anyways, right after Miorine had expressed support for them getting a house together! That was way more exciting. "R-Really!? I think we can design it ourselves and they make it for us. I bet we could even ask for a greenhouse!"
She did feel a little like her day had been missing something without her daily greenhouse trips. When was the last time she'd had one of Miorine's tomatoes?
Before long she'd been dragged into Miorine's room. If anyone else was home, Miorine hadn't stopped to greet them.
Suletta sat on the bed first when her fiancée began asking the obvious questions, but she patted the spot beside her to wordless ask Miorine to sit beside her. "Um... It's a little complicated, I guess? I was here for a while before, and then I was brought back? We never remember being here when we go home, and no time passes at all while we're here." Now that she was saying it out loud... "I-I know it sounds like I'm making it up, but it's true..."
"But um... When was the last time you saw me? Were we... together?"
The squeeze almost pushes her over the emotional edge, but instead of having some measure of outburst, she just moves closer, bumping into Suletta for a moment before continuing on.
"A home?" Her voice is definitely pitched up at that question. It's not as though they hadn't shared quarters before, but she felt herself blushing at the concept. Especially since, well, okay they were engaged then too but this time felt more...
"It'd be better than sharing space with strangers." She decided on, which was her version of a 'yes', so she'd leave it there for now, despite how quickly her heart was beating.
...
She saved her questions until they made it to 307, finding the first abandoned room and dragging Suletta into it. Exhaling, she rounds on her groom,
"How do you know how much about this city? How long have you been here? I just saw you-"
