Hoo boy what a mess! I tried some different techniques on this like holding the pen differently to take some strain off my wrist. But I was struggling to stay loose and go slow. I rush way too much when I ink stuff. "I'm sorry, I should have come sooner... I've got rain in my eyes, just give me a minute" - Cliff Unger in Death Stranding. I played this when it first came out and fell in love with it. It's definitely not for everyone, just fyi. But there were a lot of moments where it felt like it was made for me. I took my time playing it through the first time and I'm excited to come back and play it through again someday. One of my favorite bits was the crying. Especially getting to see all the male characters cry. Little tears, big tears, ugly cry. Just isn't something I get to see often and it hit me kinda hard. Anyway, check it out! If the gameplay isn't your thing tho, I recommend watching an analysis video cuz it has some great concepts in it (like Gentlemen's gaming club on youtube). Phase 2. Probably gonna try one more layer here. But jeez are these old watercolors grainy. I've been spoiled be Sennelier. It might not be the reeves paints fault, they're just super old. But the colors are definitely still vibrant and rich. One of the yellows turned brown in the tube however. But it's been nice having a dedicated purple and multiple greens. Might be time to order a bigger set. Practicing my line work using a dip pen. Don't get me wrong, I love my fine liners. But I tend to have to do a death grip with those if I want a smooth, controlled line. Where as, I can hold the dip pen a little bit lighter and farther back on the handle. It seems to be saving my wrist some stress. And I think with some practice, I'll be able to get my lines just as smooth and crisp. Plus I can get the effect of multiple fine liner sizes in a single nib just by pressing harder or lighter.
