Valentines for Guys #1:

Try these easy Twine Jars for Valentines Day!!! Perfect for the guys in your life...but also a really nice, simple gift for anyone you care about! All materials were bought at the Dollar Tree for $1.25. You only need glue, a craft jar, decorative twine and candy... simply spread the glue around the outside of the jar, wrap the decorative twine around the jar in any design you like, and finish by filling with candy!!! I’ll be giving these jars to my sons on Valentines Day. Once they eat all the candy, they can use the jars as pencil holders, change holders, or just put more candy in it!

Never Too Soon for a Valentine!
After 2 months of a much-needed break, I’m finally back with new posts and new ideas for 2023!!
To kick it off.... A Valentines Project! Even though my sons are now teenagers, I still like to make them a little surprise for Valentines Day. But making Valentines for young men can sometimes be difficult, so for the next 3 Fridays (Jan. 27, Feb. 3, and Feb 10) I’ll be posting a Valentine DIY that you can make for your sons, nephews, friends, etc...that they’ll be sure to love!
So check back this Friday for the first project. It’s incredibly easy.....you only need a small jar, colorful twine and some candy!!!!

A Little Taste of Autumn!!

This is one of my favorite Autumn/Halloween candy recipes! I make it every year! And the best part is that you can make it any way you want... This year I used m&m’s, candy corn, and Ghoulish Green Twix. It’s a great recipe for kids of all ages (my 13 year old son helped)! It’s also a great way to use leftover Halloween candy! For more recipes and decorating ideas, check out my website YourVintageAdvantage.com. I originally got this recipe idea from all you magazine...

The Potato Bin Project!

I found this potato storage bin at a thrift store for only $5!! I don’t really need a potato bin, but my husband definitely needs a laundry hamper for his sweaty gym clothes! Potato Bins are perfect for this because they have ventilation holes in the back, which helps prevent wet clothes from mildewing. Since this project is for my hubby and he’s a sports-fanatic, I’m going to refurbish it in the theme of his college colors...yellow and black for Appalachian State University! Go Mountaineers! Updates on this project will be posted nightly on my website blog starting tomorrow Monday, May 16 and finishing Friday, May 20 with the big reveal!! (Hubby doesn’t know about this!) Check out my website: www.yourvintageadvantage.com for this project and lots of other refurbishing ideas and projects!

Spring Makeover for a $3 Table!

I found this table at Goodwill for $3... Painted it, put it on my porch, and topped it with a colorful flower! Beautiful! The only additional cost in this project was the spray paint....about $5. A grand total of $8 for this lovely, yellow table. Refurbishes that can be done for under $10 are the BEST, so always be looking in thrift stores, clearance bins, discount stores.....who knows what you might find!!
**Interested in having your blog or site promoted?? As you may know, I’ve launched a new website....Your Vintage Advantage! It’s all about refurbishing and repurposing older items, tossed out items, discount store finds, etc... I’m currently looking for a few other blogs or sites to promote on my website. If interested, please let me know. Your site or blog must relate to mine in some way.....crafts, vintage, thrifting, related hobbies, etc. I just need to see some relevant similarities. You must also be willing to promote my site on whatever your platform is. Reach out to me if you’re interested and I’ll take a look at what you’d like me to promote...
And May the 4th Be With You!
