I don't get much anon hate, it just looks that way because I hardly use the site, haha. Though on a much more serious note, I come from a heavily anti-aligned friendgroup and my mental health drastically improved once I took the step to open up to them about proshipping and accept whatever outcome fate had in store for me. It's most definitely scary and it took me months to even consider it, but it's best to do so (in comfort). It'll either distance you from people who aren't your true friends, or strengthen the bond between the ones who accept you. I had many reactions when I opened up to my friends. One anti showed discomfort but understood that it helped me cope, she and I stayed friends. One revealed that he never really cared about "antis" or "proshippers" and just went along with whatever made me comfortable. And of course, the others called me disgusting and said they were sick to've ever interacted with me. In the end, I may have lost a part of my history, but I kept the people that actually cared about me close to me, and helped them understand more about me. I lost the ones that were constantly pushing me into discourse and making snide remarks toward other proshippers, which drove me further into my shell and further into my trauma. Now there's nothing to hold me back, neither through my healing process nor creatively.

Anti’s need to take a moment to realize that the internet is not a safe space. It never has been, and it never will be. It was not created with the intent of being a safe space in the first place.

The internet is home to all things - the good, the bad, and the ugly. 

There is no way to make the internet truly safe. That is because of the overwhelming amount of content that it holds. Nothing is sacred. If you truly think that the internet should be a pure safe space for all, you are living in a delusion - I’m sorry to say.

Nothing anyone says or does can make the internet safe for all. However - you can curate you own online experience! If you see things you don’t like, then you have the ability to block people! You also have the ability to not search for things that make you uncomfortable ( which is apparently an extremally foreign concept for some antis ). Another thing you have the power to do on certain sites is to block tags and words so that you won’t see posts with said tags / words!

The internet isn’t safe, but there are many ways to make your internet experience more enjoyable.

Harassing people when they like something that you personally don’t is never the answer and will never accomplish anything.
