I was going to save this until July (Disability Pride Month) but I am disabled year-round so I'm just posting it anyway.

Writers, especially fanfic writers, who include disabled characters are awesome. Whether it's OCs or headcanons for canon characters. Seeing people choose to include characters like me can be so, so wonderful.

And for abled writers who may want to include us but find it daunting: that's good, it means you want to do it right. And sure, writing outside your experience can be hard, it takes work. But please don't be afraid to write disabled characters. As a general rule, do your research, talk to actual disabled people, and be respectful, and you'll be fine.

Also because I'm in the Tolkien fandom special shoutout to Silm fanfic writers who write disabled, particularly physically disabled, elves. "But elves can't be disabled -" fuck off with that. If you include disabled elves I fucking love you.

I’ve decided to start a new conspiracy theory that coonhounds don’t actually exist. the setter people are frantically shaving their dogs in between shows and then showing them again as “coonhounds”. So they can win extra ribbons I presume.

they’ve been forcing us to write “customized notes” on every drink at work and now they’re having store meetings + coaching us on what we can and can’t write bc someone drew a pig on a cop’s coffee and tbh that’s on starbucks for not foreseeing this outcome.

got a text from my old boss that she got new kittens, which didn’t surprise me bc she’s infamous for having like 10+ cats at a time and is constantly taking in strays from neighboring farms. average thursday for her right. but then i go to actually open the image she sent and

I love it when trans women protest topless. If they're arrested, the state must admit they're women. If they aren't, it shows the glaring contradictions of labeling trans women as legally male. It helps their cause either way.
