If I had a nickel every time I saw an animated movie about a group of girls who create magic when they sing but they had to go up against a rival group who also create magic when they sing but evil, and tried to hypnotize their fans through an evil concert…so the hero group tries to write a diss track but fails, but THEN the hero steps up right as the villains are winning and sings a song about overcoming her insecurities and being proud to spread friendship and love AND goes through a sick outfit change, (and the soundtrack slaps) I’d have 2 nickels.

imo something to consider when talking about anakin's appeal to padmé is how he turned HER in a quasi-religious figure in his mind for ten years. he calls her an angel when they first meet and spends the years after dreaming and thinking about their meeting everyday, he basically deified her in a way that's parallel yet completly separate from how queen amidala was. like imagine you're padmé and you've spent the majority of your life as a symbol, being adored not for yourself but for a mask you constructed, and then you meet someone who doesn't care about that, who adores YOU, who called you an angel when he thought you were just a random girl. and he sees right through the mask because he gets it. he gets what it's like to give up your life for a cause. he did the same thing. and he offers you something for yourself, he thinks you're special not because you're amidala but because you're YOU. not to mention he also looks like he jumped straight out a painting and expresses his unconditional devotion like it's nothing. how could padmé NOT fall for him?
