Happy Birthday in Heaven
Happy Birthday in Heaven

It never failed each day the birthday talk would and must be discussed.
Last year was so…

Life
Lately, I have felt so much stress I feel that there is so much uncertainty. My role as a mom I feel that I need to protect my children. Protect them from what? I ask myself. There is so much going on I am not sure how to protect them.
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break, and all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go, love…

The Events of Today
I was looking at my Facebook today and there were many anniversary notifications. Early this morning I took my son for a summer job interview. Last but not least we received a message asking if we could get in touch with one of our girls. The message wanted to see if we would ask her to contact her young child who thinks her mommy ( our daughter) is missing. All the events…

Saying Goodbye to later find that child

Let me tell you about the child that changed my life! His name was Jon he came to me at eight months old. The worker called me because I was a stay at home mom and Jon was in a full-body cast. Of course, I said yes! Little did I know how much he would change my life.
When Jon arrived he was in a cast from the nipples down and he looked like he had a giant head. He only had a hole to allow…

Children and what they feel when the world is in a panic.

Research has shown that children removed from their family home do better when placed with a relative with whom they have a history and a positive relationship rather than in a foster home that is unknown to them. Our children who are survivors of abuse, neglect, or abandonment may have significant issues in the areas of trust.
I was talking with my kids today about the virus and what is going…

Raising babies that were born drug-addicted

My husband and I have had several children come through our home that was born drug-addicted. We adopted three children that were diagnosed and spent a period of time in the hospital because of the diagnosis. I have had people ask me what are they like what do they grow up to be?
Two of the children were born addicted to cocaine. They were very busy, not necessarily hyper but it was always as…

What does the word family mean to you?
What does the word family mean to you?

Growing up my parents worked hard and as a team, partners and coworkers in order to get things done. I remember as a child they would discuss finances, employment, and travel decisions. They would make decisions about important things together.
My dad and I were reminiscing the other day about when we cut firewood. We would go with my Uncle and cut wood for the winter. Now I know that it…

Things Do You Do With Your Family For Fun?
Our family
For us, the number one thing to do would be travel. Whether we have a large family or we are down a few kids, travel is number one. We have always found a way to go whether it would be going using a timeshare package or saving for a year.

How Do You Raise Happy Positive Thinking Kids?
How Do You Raise Happy Positive Thinking Kids?
As a grandmother and self-help writer, I’m often asked by readers, “How do you raise happy kids?” This is a question near and dear to every loving parent’s heart. No matter what we teach them, if we haven’t taught them how to be happy, or can’t parent in a way that makes them feel happy, it’s rather all for naught, isn’t it? So it’s a very pertinent question. I’ll share two tips I’ve learned…
