Long time no post , probably due to very little painting action . Busy life last few years . Covid obviously swept the world and my work in care has had to be more focused accordingly.
One positive, I got to pick up paint brushes after over 30 years. Had been taking the dogs down to a nearby river and was amazed at how green Devon is . In the sunshine, the slow flow of the Dart all the green lay heavy on me like a verdant duvet .

Art Show Draws to a Close
So the week is coming to an end with just Saturday to go and I close earlier today to remove all my paintings and vacate for the incoming artist. Have I enjoyed it ? That's a definite yes. Its a big fail on sales front but had lots of good feedback from public and other painters. Would I do another? Another definite yes, but probably do something less focussed on paintings and bring in some textural pieces so that folk can "get their hands dirty"

Day 4, solo art show
Thursday hit the ground running, well if you define running as a moderately paced carefree amble, then Thursdays your moderately paced carefree amble day. Busier than Wednesday , but yet again our fridge door is busier than Wednesday.Thursday brought nothing in regards of capital income and a lot in regards of local artists saying they liked my work. I did manage to start another Flamingo piece which is sort of in the going well/oh dear I dont like it stage .

Day3 solo show
Well, I think the mid-week blues hit us yesterday, add on a rare blast of sun complete with marginal warmth and the town centre emptied quicker than a Bob Dylan concert when he gets his electric guitar out. Thanks to most of the brave 19 souls who entered. I say most as I'm not including the ex-art teacher who walked in, went "jeez" at the first painting and then asked me "are you self-taught?"

Day 2 at Totnes, Devon. Solo show
Day of mixed emotions really, still not sold anything which is a bit of a flattener but had very many really positive discussions with the locals about my art, art in general and even a good old conspiracy theory as well. Also found time to start on a pastel whilst there, so that folks can see pastels, pick them up, see the mess etc. Its a very tactile experience. Overall : a good day.

Day 1 : Solo art show
Well it got off to a bad start as I couldn't get in the gallery. The 1 key I had been given was fine, but there was an upper lock and that key, I had not been given. Frantic phones, left frantic answer machine messages and then a man, coming inthe same building, (but another part) said try the key to the toilets . Yes the key to the toilets , turned out, to also open the upper lock on the door . From there it could only get better. #Totnes # Devon # art
