Just had a horrid review.
But my mantra is, "if you're doing it right, someone will hate you for it."
Not gonna lie, was still quite a blow to my confidence. Apparently my "WRITING SUCKS"
Screw you. I know I write well.
Not gonna let you bring me down, you're so salty :)

Firing Practice
*Lil oneshot of Garrus and Shepard, set once they have established their relationship* ....................... The Normandy 12.05am Garrus wandered through the CIC they had been docked at the Citadel for just over four hours and most of the crew had gone for some well deserved shore leave. He was invited by Tali and Liara to have lunch but he was waiting for his dark haired beauty to come down from her lofty hide away. She was determined to finish her paperwork before allowing herself to join in the crews frivolities, he had offered to help her but had the sense to run away when the book on her table had risen biotically. He heard the thump from inside the elevator, in hindsight he probably shouldn't have offered when smirking and unable to contain his laughter when he saw her surrounded in data pads and had her waist length hair piled on top of her head. She was also wearing a pair of glasses something Garrus had never seen before and he couldn't help but stare. His translator glitched a couple of times as he heard her shout something he thought was rude on his way out. So he returned to his never ending calibrations in hope that she would find him when she was finished. A few hours later however and she still hadn't appeared. He had gone searching for her, and when there was no reply at her cabin door he had sought out Joker. He entered the cockpit half expecting some lame crack from the pilot but he was nowhere to be found, Garrus' mandibles flared in annoyance, where had everyone gone? He wandered down to the canteen in hope that he would pass a member of crew on the way but there was nothing but silence. There was no choice left but to ask EDI. 'Hey uh EDI? Where is Commander Shepard?' He felt a little bit silly having to resort to asking the ship's computer but he really wanted to spend some time with her, she had been pretty tense lately. 'She left the Normandy at 1100 hours, she did not say where about on the Citadel she was going, nor did she take any other crew members with her.' 'Oh well thanks EDI.' He was a bit concerned but nothing to bad. He took from Shepard's example and jumped ship. ...*... Feeling the comforting weight of his sniper and assault rifles on his back meant he was fairly confident when he stepped onto the Presidium, he might be stopped for carrying what C-Sec consider a rather large artillery on his back but hopefully by dropping the Spectre's name the issue would in turn be dropped. Without realising it he had taken the path down to the shooting range, he might as well loose a few shots to keep his eye in while he was here. If Shepard didn't want to be found he wouldn't bother her. He was still a bit uneasy about the uh, situation they were in. She said she cared for him and Garrus didn't deny that for a moment, but he was still unsure about where he metaphorically stood. He knew about Shepard's past with Alenko and he didn't want to get in the way of anything, no matter how much it might hurt. ...*... Evelyn Shepard lay with a sniper rifle cocked in her arms, she had promised Garrus she would get better and not rely on her biotics so much. She was a sharp shot with a pistol or shotgun but give her a rifle and she would five times out of ten miss. Her long hair was plaited and draped down the curve of her back. She had worn her favourite N7 hoodie and a pair of jeans, she was determined not to be as easily recognisable as usual. She hoped that Garrus would get lost in his calibrations and once she felt confident enough when handling the blasted rifle she would casually call him and have him help her fine tune her skills. After all learning to shoot was very physically close teaching. She breathed out and released her shot. It hit the target just under the ribs. Not good enough she thought. She had been trying for about half an hour and her arms were beginning to die on her. She'll just finish off with a few pistol rounds to loosen up again and then she'll call Garrus for his assistance. Calling up a few more random targets on her omni-tool she stood up dusted herself off and began shooting. After a few minutes a Turian approached her. He was shorter than Garrus and had a darker colouring as well, his marking were painted in a dark green. He wore light armour and what Shepard considered as a cocky look on his face. He watched her with quiet interest for a few moments, Shepard didn't mind she was used to everyone watching her every move. What she did mind were the calculating looks he was giving her. She shot the last target with a hit in the throat, nodding to acknowledge the Turian she took off her earplugs. ...*... Garrus rounded the corner of one the booths only to find Shepard laying on the ground sniper rifle in hand. His heart quickened, he knew she promised to practise but he didn't believe that she actually would. He watched silently as she lined up her shot. She missed the heart by five inches or so and he could hear her frustrated sigh. He was tempted to go over but he saw another Turian approaching, he backed off a bit, not so much that he couldn't hear anything but enough to be unseen. He wondered what might happen ...*... 'I'm sorry I'll only be a few more minutes.' She said polietly. 'Oh don't mind me, please continue.' He leant against a wall, 'I was quite enjoying it.' Yeah I bet you were. Shepard thought. 'Say haven't I seen you somewhere before?' He crossed his arms. Oh here it comes, she thought, holstering her pistol she turned to face him. 'My name's Shepard, pleased to meet you' she lied through her teeth. She held out her hand, most species were aware of humans shaking hands when first encountered. He gripped her hand in a steely embrace, clearly trying to show his strength, Garrus would never do that, he doesn't need to. 'Ruso, Ruso Tyzuris, and I am very pleased to meet you.' Shepard grinned awkwardly, unsure where this was going. 'Say you wouldn't be the Commander Shepard?' His eyes took a predatory look. She coughed into her hand, 'Yes but I am off duty for the moment,' why is it that male turians are interested in me all of a sudden? They can't think that if I care for one I like them all? 'Well if you're off duty how about when you finish here we go get some drinks, I know a great place in the wards called Tulsa, I would love to hear some stories.' He said. Yeah I bet you would, and tell your mates a few of your own about the time you met Commander Shepard. She needed to get rid of this guy and quickly. She was feeling less and less comfortable by the minute, she had no doubt she could protect herself but she would like to go one day without having to change her clothing or claim spectre business when something goes wrong. Calling up a few more targets she drew her pistol. In the range there where a few Human shaped targets, some Batarians and even a Turian, she quickly disposed of the Human and Batarians with single shots to the head or chest but when it came to the Turian target she left her pistol drift downwards. Using her peripherals she watched Ruso's face as she shot the ankles and wrists. To the inexperienced eye they would see no difference to Ruso's features but Shepard had been around Garrus enough to see the little signs that made clear their emotions. The paling around the base of his neck showed that he was feeling a little uneasy. ...*... Garrus watched as Shepard shot the fake Turian's ankles and wrists. Very sensitive areas. He couldn't help but wince when he saw each shot land with deadly precision. For the first time he pitied the people who went up against her. A small bubble of anger had formed when Ruso had offered to buy a drink for her and it took all of his self control not to walk over and punch him in the face. But Shepard had done something better. ...*... She continued shooting, a bullet in each elbow and knee. Then the shoulders. And when she was sure she had Ruso's full attention she emptied the rest of her magazine into an area south of the chest. Ruso's eyes widened and he twitched with every shot. Once she had popped her heat sink she turned to him. 'So would you like to go get some drinks now?' She said sickly sweet, brushing a few errant hairs from her eyes. 'I-I uh, I forgot that I have to uh, meet a friend, I um forgot.' He stood transfixed his eyes on her pistol which she held loosely by her hip. 'Oh no, that's such a shame, I guess I'll just keep practising.' She put in a fresh magazine and fired a shot clean through the target's head. 'And I was so looking forward to them.' He backed away, 'yeah uh, sorry to uh, disappoint, see you around uh, Shepard.' And with his goodbye he left as slowly as his dignity allowed. Shepard shook her head and carried on completely unaware. âŚ*... Garrus practically skipped up the steps, all doubt or worry he had went with every shot Shepard placed in the target. He strode past a few shops even peering in at the merchandise, nothing could pop the bubble of happiness that had replaced the foul taste of anger and jealousy. After about twenty minutes his omni-tool beeped at him. He looked down there was a message from Shepard. 13.09 Message from Shepard: Hey Vakarian my fav turian you around? X He replied a smile threatening it's way onto his features. 13.12 Message to Shepard: Maybe, depends where you are and what you need. X He wasn't sure about the little 'x' on the end but Shepard said you sent them to people you care about and having seen some of the messages she sent to Liara or Kaiden who didn't have the little 'x' he didn't mind. According to Shepard the more you put the more you care or something he didn't really understand, must be a human thing. 13.15 Message from Shepard: I'm on the range at the mo, and I wanted a lil company x 13.18 Message to Shepard: Sure, I'm on the Citadel now, looking for you actually. 13.21 Message from Shepard: no kiss? Awww. Im sorry just needed a bit of time to myself didn't mean to upset you. Garrus sat on a neary bench and mentally slapped himself. Damn humans and their weird customs, forget one letter and the whole dynamic changes! 13.27 Message to Shepard: No you didn't upset me, I was a bit worried. Sorry about the 'x' I forgot. 13.27 Message to Shepard: Dammit, x 13.31 Message from Shepard: That cheered me up :D wondering if you wanna get some drinks? Xx His heart skipped, two little 'x's? He rubbed his face with his talons, oh spirits when did I start getting excited over an 'x'? 13.35 Message to Shepard: Definitely need a drink xx 13.37 Message from Shepard: Great x I know just the place xx Garrus grinned, this day was getting better and better. 13.40 Message to Shepard: Oh do tell xxx 13.42 Message from Shepard: Ever heard of Tulsa? Xxx :P 13.46 Message to Shepard: Can't say I have where do you want to meet? Xxx Garrus looked around waiting for her reply. He watched a couple of Hanar drift by It was strange what this woman could do to him, with just some words. His omni-tool bleeped. 13.50 Message from Shepard: No need look behind you xxxx Garrus twisted in his seat, unable to see her he stood and turned around. Across the walkway he saw her jogging toward him. She beamed at him her plait bouncing behind her. She gave no indication of slowing down. Garrus became a little worried she could run quite fast. Without warning she threw her arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his cheek. She hung there (being about six inches shorter than his six foot five.) Gingerly he wrapped his arms around her holding her close, not caring who saw them and ignoring the glances from people who did. 'Miss me?' She said. 'A little' he replied. She dropped to her feet and placed her hand in his. 'To the bar,' she announced. 'Where are your glasses?' He said cheekily. 'At the Normandy,' she replied tugging him along, 'maybe I'll wear them when you teach me how to shoot.' The way she said 'teach' and 'shoot' made a shiver run down his spine. 'You sure you want to have a drink?' She flashed a smile, 'oh yeah I have got some stories to tell.' .............................. -Please feel free to reblog or like-

Killugon Fanfic
*Welcome to the random one shot drabble of my mind. Hope you like it, Iâve not written in so long, I apologise if thereâs any mistakes or it doesnât make sense.*
-Killugon fluff. Teen.-
Killua sighs and rubs his eyes, this was always a bad time of year for him. It was his birthday and that always created confusion in his heart and mind. His life had improved in the last fifteen years, his sister Alluka was doing well in the school he had discovered for her, privacy was their number one concern. His family still ground on his nerves but that was normal and he had gotten used to it, no, what really bothered him was Gon. His best friend was a thorn in his side that he was more than happy to have causing him irritation. It was sweet really, he had been trying to discover for years when Killuaâs birthday was, but he had had no luck just yet. He sat in his office, twisting his chair back and forth, running his hand through his freshly cut hair. He picked up the photo frame next to his computer, it was a picture of himself and Gon when they were teens, graduating University. He had studied Music like he wanted and not the Accountancy or Business studies that he parents were pushing him towards. Gon completed his course in Animal ecology and Biology, the memory caused a smile to drift across his sharp features. The pang in his heart reminded him of how he missed his friend. But over the years, the pain had grown deeper, Gon was always travelling the world and while Killua had joined him for the first few years, Allukaâs safety and well being kept him on the same continent. He had come to a realisation a few years ago when Gon had a nasty accident when dealing with some ecological developments over in the African suburbs. It was touch and go for a few months, and mentally it was the same for Killua, coming close to losing Gon was the most agonising feeling he had ever had to process. Thatâs when it hit him that he might feel more than just friendship towards the young man. He hadnât been able to tell Gon of these feelings though, he was pretty sure that Gon didnât feel the same way, the guy always had a flurry of girlfriends, though none of them stuck around for too long. Ever since that young boy came into his life, he was the shining light that led Killua through the darkest of times. Killua sighed and placed the treasured photo back next to his computer, he didnât know when he would see Gon again, though his friend had promised it would be soon. His phone rang, jolting him out of the almost bad mood he was spiralling into. He picked up a lot more cheerful when he saw the caller ID. âAlluka,â he said with affection.
'Big brother!â She replies with a audible smile. 'Happy Birt-â
'Donât Ali,â he laughs shaking his head. 'I donât even want to hear those words. You know I donât like today,â he says shrugging a shoulder she wonât see. He got out of his padded desk chair and began to wander as they spoke. He left his office and ambled towards his music room, idly plucking strings of his guitars as he passed. 'How are things?â He asks with tilt of his head.
'Well Uni is going well, I even met someone who seems interested in me. I got Aâs in English, French and Biology, I suck at Math and I have begun to take an after school class in Dance,â she babbles. She wanted to wish him a happy birthday, but he as usual wasnât having any of it. She pouted, it was getting old. She knew that his birthdays werenât happy occasions when they lived with their mum and dad, it was a constant reminder that he as getting older and wasnât fulfilling their expectations. 'Also I finally passed my driving test! Took forever and the examiner was so mean-â
Killua was replaying the conversation in his head. 'Woah, hold up there, what do you mean you met someone? Someone whoâs interested in you?â He said with concern. 'Alluka, you know how I feel about this sort of thing,â he is trying to be open minded and he knows that sheâs getting older; but it was hard to not be protective over her.
'Of course that would be the bit that you focus on,â he heard her sigh. 'Killy,â she said with a whine. 'Just meet her and youâll see,â Alluka says softly. 'You know I love you and you know that youâre being a little silly about this. Iâll arrange for us to come over and see you during half term, now Iâve gotta go,â she says hearing the school bell. Killua purses his lips as she says goodbye and hangs the phone up with a swipe of his finger.
'I love you too,â he says although she had disconnected. He left his music room to go downstairs into the kitchen to make some tea, 'sheâ huh, thatâs a little surprising, he smiles to himself, though not entirely unexpected. Somehow, knowing that it was a woman that was interested in Alluka made it a bit more bearable, he could remember his own antics at that age. He filled the kettle and looked out the window where he could see the lake, that the forest surrounded. They were halfway up a mountain, almost inaccessible to those who didnât know how to get there. Killua had made his own money through songwriting and melodies, he refused to rely on his parentâs bank accounts or cards. Surprisingly his phone rang again and he hadnât bothered to check the ID when he picked up. 'Killua speaking,â he said simply as he poured his tea.
'Killua!â A familiar voice practically shouted down the line at him. Killua couldnât help the sile that spread across his face.
'Idiot!â He swore holding the phone from his ear. 'Iâm not deaf you know,â he says the humour clear in his voice. Gon laughs, Killua rolls his eyes and takes his tea to the balcony, trying not to think about how his heart is skipping with delight at the sound of his voice.
'Man, it is so good to hear your voice,â Gon says, itâs strangely quiet on his end of the phone. Normally when Gon can call him, itâs full of hustle and bustle of whatever city or random village heâs in. His words made Killua blush and he was strangely thankful that Gon couldnât see him. 'Iâve missed you, I spoke to Alluka earlier, she seems well,â he says happily. Listening to his friend made his emotions soar, he wasnât really paying attention to what Gon was saying, more revelling in the fact that he got to speak to him and hear his voice. He tuned back in when he heard Gon repeat himself. 'Killua? Killua? What are you doing now?â He asked, 'are you at home or you in a city with a producer or something?â
Killua laughs and shakes his head, 'Iâm at home, drinking a cup of tea and listening to you, you idiot,â he smiles. 'What else would I be doing if I picked up the phone when you rang me?â He rolls his eyes as he leans on the railing. The breeze runs through his hair and creates chills on his bare chest, it was early in the morning, the sun had only been up a few hours casting a golden glow over the lake.
'Did you cut your hair?â Gon asked changing the subject. Killua raised a brow, wondering why that suddenly came up.
'Yeah, wanted a change. I was starting to look like Kite,â he laughs taking a sip of his tea. 'Whatâs the matter did Alluka say something? I did send her a picture of what it looked like, she was utterly insistent that I send her one. She harassed me non-stop while I was getting it done the other morning.â He felt a pit grow in his stomach as he waited for Gonâs reply. Instead he heard the line click off, as Gon either hung up or ran out of signal. It happened sometimes when he was in back road that didnât have good connection. He looked at his phone and sighed. 'Great,â he murmured to himself, now he wouldnât ever know as Gon had the attention span of a Gnat. He wouldnât remember that they were talking about this when they next spoke. He finished his tea and dangled the cup over the edge for a couple of moments as he took the sun on his face. He relished in the light heat, still feeling his heart jump from the conversation with him, it was almost a perfect day if it werenât for the fact it was his birthday. He turned around and promptly dropped the cup he was holding, flinching at the smash it made on the tiled floor.
'I think it looks great, I really like it. It suits you a lot,â Gon said with a smile beaming at Killua. He held the phone in his hand and chuckled. 'Sorry, I wanted it to be a surprise,â he added. Killua could do nothing but gape, he was here! Gon had taken a moment to himself to watch his best friend in the sunlight, the rays turning his usual glossy white locks a wonderful liquid gold, his skin dusted with a glorious range of shadows, enhancing his supple frame, slim waist and elegant shoulders. His chest pounded with the anticipation of Killuaâs smile. Gon watched as his friendâs cheeks bloom a wonderful rose colour, coupled with his action of turning away, using his fringe to hide the fact.
'Ugh!â Killua says, his lips turning into the sweetest half smile, making his reddened cheeks darken. 'Youâre still such an idiot,â he laughs running his hand through his hair. He looked at his phone and then back at Gon. 'You totally had me, I didnât think I would see you this soon,â he mumbles, ignoring the smashed cup on the floor and walking towards him. Gon was dressed in a suit, which made him wonder what the occasion was, Killua had to resist licking his lips, Gon looked so incredibly handsome, his hair was untameable as ever, itâs black rebellious spikes waved in the light breeze. His suit was unbuttoned at the front and he held his other hand in his trouser pocket, just looking at him made his mouth go dry.
'I missed you Killua,â Gon said slipping his phone into his inside jacket pocket and rubbing the back of his head. Killua pulled a face and laughed a little nervously, this man was determined to make him combust.
'Yeah, I missed you too, idiot,â Killua eventually replies, 'whatâs with the suit?â He asks trying to distract Gon. 'I thought you were in some back alley forest, trying to save a ladybug or something?â He teases lightly. He would go back inside but Gon is in the doorway, so he leans against the railing again, crossing his arms.
'Well itâs not every day that I get to see you,â Gon laughs as he comes closer to Killua. 'Especially when youâre looking so cute,â he retorts. Killua rolls his eyes and purses his lips as he looks at him with a glare. Gon laughs and holds up his hands. 'Okay, okay, I wanted to tell you something,â he smiles, his nervousness beginning to show.
'Oh? What is it?â Killua asks, that pit returning in his stomach again, this time it was accompanied by a ball in his throat.
'I think Iâm in love,â Gon says quietly, his blush making his tan cheeks turn into a wonderful shade of red. His freckles stood out like a dusting of cinnamon on a mocha. Killua tried so hard not to show the immense turmoil in his facial expression and instead plastered on a fake smile as he blinked back tears.
'Who is the lucky girl?â He asked through a sticky mouth, his tongue and lips dry. Gon simply shrugs a shoulder, not replying.
'I got you a present,â he replies, putting his hand back into his pocket, Killua could kill him. Dropping a bombshell like that and then acting like nothing ever happened. 'But you gotta close your eyes, then Iâll give it to you,â Killua pouted and his anger was evident. But a smile from Gon made it lose most itâs harshness, Killua couldnât help but mimic him. 'Itâs from Africa, I just got back and I thought of you when I got it, so close your eyes and just relax,â he says softly. Killua felt incredibly self conscious but did as his friend asked and leaned back as he relaxed, closing his eyes. He felt Gon move closer to him and a slight pressure against his lips, Gon was pressing a small chocolate against his mouth. Killua chuckled lightly and let him place the sweet on his tongue, it melted within an instant, Killua could tell that it had already become soft with the heat of Gonâs fingertips. It ruptured into an orange crème, the dark concoction filling Killuaâs mouth.
'Thatâs amazing,â Killua says swallowing and licking his lips a little. He goes to open his eyes but Gon tells him off.
'Donât open your eyes until I say!â Gon says simply, Killua laughs and protests that theyâre not kids any more but Gon isnât having it. 'Come on Killua, for me,â he says softly, knowing that Killua couldnât refuse him. With a playful huff he keeps his eyes dramatically closed, Gonâs own eyes are drawn to his mouth watching his tongue dart out to lick his lips once more. Gon picked a white chocolate oval and couldnât help his heart rate spike as Killuaâs lips parted, his sweet breath washing over him. He placed the chocolate on his tongue, loving the warmth he felt on his fingertips. Killua closed his mouth tasting the incredible succulent strawberry that flooded his tongue. Gon almost caved there and then, wanting to pull this beautiful man closer and envelope himself against him. 'So, remember how I said that I had fallen in love?â He asked, seeing that Killuaâs expression stilled and hardened a little, he looked like he was about to retort but Gon continued. 'It took me a long time to figure it out and Iâm not sure what Iâm going to do about it,â he said softly, he picked another sweet from the box, this time a luxurious caramel covered in milk chocolate. He had to press it against Killuaâs lips to her him to open his mouth, he slipped it in between his teeth. 'But I think you know,â he says his voice deepened with want. 'This is the last one,â he warned as Killua finished the caramel. Killua smiles a little, amused by what Gon was doing, this was all a little silly, Killua thought, but he wasnât going to stop it. He wanted to enjoy this moment with Gon for as long as possible, he was always travelling and he rarely spent long with him.
Killua half anticipated the next sweet and opened his mouth gently, but what came next was something of a dream. Gon was already standing close to him, but he had removed all distance and grabbed Killua around the waist, pulling him tightly to him. Gonâs lips almost tenderly crush Killuaâs as he lets his desire take over him. Dropping the box of chocolates, Gon wound his fingers through his silver locks, revelling in the softness between his skin. Killua had stiffened as Gon kissed him, but without meaning to let his own emotions pour into his body. His chest fell against Gonâs, his arms that were crossed loosened and rested on Gonâs hips. Killuaâs fingertips dug into the cloth that Gon wore, gripping it tightly. He didnât want this moment to end and he couldnât believe it was happening. His mouth was warm and left a tantalisingly flavour on his tongue, it was addictive, Killua almost couldnât stop himself from moaning into him.
Gon reluctantly pulled away, his lips still wet from Killuaâs mouth, the warmth leaving quickly. Both of them breathed heavily, and when Killua finally opened his eyes he only saw the rich, swirling amber of Gonâs eyes piercing back at him. 'WhatâŚidiot!â Killua swore, pushing him away a little. 'What about this girl you love?â The hurt was evident in Killuaâs expression, Gon wanted nothing more than to comfort him. 'What was that for?â He asked, his voice stuttering a little.
'I didnât say it was a girl, and itâs because,â Gon said pulling him closer again. 'Itâs you,â he says softly, brushing Killuaâs hair out his eyes. His crystal clear, pale electric blue eyes. Eyes that when Gon stared into them, he felt like he lost his very being, his soul lost in the abyss. Killuaâs eyes glittered, tears beginning to emerge.
'You donât mean that,â he murmurs looking away. 'Youâre just⌠I donât know, but youâre not being serious,â he whispers turning and moving away completely. Gonâs heart felt like it had been impaled, true it had taken him far too long to figure out his feelings towards his best friend. But, they were all there, all true.
'Killua, I would never lie to you. I want you,â Gon says pulling him back towards him. 'Itâs always been you,â he murmurs pressing his cheek against Killuaâs. He felt Killuaâs tears fall against his skin. This was not the time for lust, this was the time for comfort and love, which he was more than happy to provide. He wrapped his arms around his best friend and allowed him to be engulfed by all Killuaâs confused emotions. 'Donât cry, not today,â he whispered placing a delicate kiss on his head, 'not on your birthday,â he adds, feeling him jolt.
'You bastard,â Killua hissed, burying his head into Gonâs neck, inhaling his scent deeply. 'I hate you,â he grumbles. 'So much.â
Gon laughs and holds him tighter, 'no you donât. You love me. And I love you,â he says feeling his heart swell. Killua laughed as he pulled away so he could look at his friend. Sometimes something much more blossoms from friendship, something to be treasured and something rare. Killua wasnât going to let it slip his grasp. They embraced again, blissfully unaware of the sun or breeze that surrounded them, too consumed with each other. On the floor of the balcony Killuaâs phone buzzed. Once. Twice. Then the message light appeared.
'Happy Birthday, Big brother! Hope you have one to remember! Love Alluka xoxâ
