SightSeer Scrutineer Script for Pilot video Episode 1 on Youtube:
Who?
Hello, welcome to the pilot episode of “Sightseer Scrutineer.” I am your host and creator, Michael Hoerbelt. I am a real person and this is being broadcast in my home office. I have a passion for travel and writing good reviews to enhance the experience for the next person, and in the end, making this a better world for all.
During the week I drive Tractor Trailers and typically come home daily. I see a lot of places, people, and history. Sometimes I stay over at a hotel and go out to a restaurant to eat. You may hear me say that I have “ground travel advice,” and that’s because I have little experience with flight and trains or boats. I do have paddle boating experience, and some destinations are accessible by paddle boat, but I prefer to stick to what I know best. If you plan to drive, ask me!
Where?
The show will take place mainly in my office, but as this is a travel show, I will be adding in certain destinations at which may be suggested by the subscribers of this show.
What?
The purpose of this show is to inform travelers and the public of an overview and detailed insight on “other” reviews of certain places like: hotels, stores, parks, and restaurants. Also a part of my goal is to remain honest, hence why I’m shooting at my home and in my comfy clothes, no special lighting or green screen enhancements.
There will be 4 features to every episode including a closing statement. In the first feature I will be doing a new review of a place I’ve never been to.
In the 2nd feature I will give “ground” travel advice using the App and Website Google Maps (this will vary from show to show with a few new tips every episode).
The 3rd feature will showcase one of my past or most recent reviews about a place I’ve actually been to and why I wrote what I did. I will also include ground travel advice to this feature.
The last feature will be a review or reviews for the subscriber(s) in which they can request in the comments/or message me a place they want me to do research on. The request will be shown the following episode, but you MUST subscribe to send in a request. I prefer that your request comes in before Saturday EST.
Why?
This idea is of my own creativity and is to help you and others to make the best educated decision RATHER than doing all the research yourself…in other words, it’s supposed to save your time.
How?
By reading through reviews left by the public and/or professional critics and filter out the bland or biased opinions. *Take note however, that I will not be completely un-biased as it has been pointed out to me that no human is completely emotionless. Therefore I will keep bias’s down to a minimum.
I will also follow a set of standards so that you have a clear definition of my *honest* opinion.
Standards:
Hotels: 6
Cleanliness-smell of room, quality of sheets, bathroom
Accommodation and amenities-TV, wifi, plugs, Good Toilet? fridge, microwave, hair dryer, ironing board, coat hangers, coffee maker, wheel chair accessible, sofa, office chair and table, lamps, window, indoor/outdoor pool, exercise room, balcony, was hotel able to give you toiletries or plunger?

Customer service-Are the representatives helpful, respectful, enthusiastic, have good hygiene and efficient?
Policies (ie refunds/returns)-Are their policies legit/real or are they trying to rob your faith in words?
Quality of product/service-Did whatever you bought work, was it of bad quality/high price, was it: you get what you paid for aka low quality low price? Was the service unique, relaxing, accommodating, did the person giving the service open to requests?
Parks: 4
Accessibility-Who can benefit from going there? Are the trails clear and easy to follow? Are the trails often too muddy, are they gravel or paved or wood chips or man made wood cat walks?
Signage-Is there enough information to guide you through the park, is it easy to get lost, is there enough information on the ecology or sights of the park?
Parking and Roads-How many vehicles can fit there, how big of a vehicle can I fit there? Are the roads extremely rough, do I need a 4x4 to get there, is it paved or dirt or gravel?

My history as a critic started here when I was a year into studying graphic design in college. I later finished with an AAS and majored in Fine Arts instead. I have according to Newgrounds, 199 reviews, and most of them are lengthy.
