It's literally only about wanting people to acknowledge him as something else besides a thing to play with and control. He acts mostly out of spite to be honest. Been there, done that. I was a rabid dog, I know how it feels. It gets to the point where you don't even want the attention of those who are wronging you or have wronged you one way or another you just wanna see them seethe and tolerate your presence, but it just makes you just like them, if not worse.

And it's bad because IT DOESN'T EVEN REGISTER AS WRONG TO YOU, and if it does, barely. You always think "they've done worse, this is nothing in comparison, so who are they to chastise me about it."

I don’t want to enter in the discourse of “who’s the most oppressed one in a royal family with fictional nuclear weapons” but there is something to be said about the fact that Aegon had all the privilege and that privilege is used to abuse others ,and that this is a big reason him and his family have problems .Aemond was a disabled second son who has to try harder because of his disability ,Helaena is autistic and almost no one treats her seriously ,Otto was a second son whose wealth depended entirely on the Targaryens dynasty ,Alicent is the abused and gaslighted queen consort whose entire position depends on Viserys’s decisions ,and if we want to add Criston ,well,he’s a lowborn dornish man who did get screwed by an authority figure he owed his position .Of course they’re all pissed with Aegon ,he literally is the king firstborn son and probably future king ,and he never tries to be enough for the family or his position.He actually becomes worse ,because he’s not only a lazy drunk no now he’s a rapist who watches child pits .Especially for someone like Alicent who believes in kindness and in fairness and is a rape victim seeing her son use his privilege to abuse people makes her completely disgusted by him ,especially when he acts like he was the trying to be enough and was still treated badly in episode nine .

really hate how casual misogyny is so embedded into supposedly feminist spaces in fandom.

i mean people that call alicent “alicunt” or express how she should be raped “as punishment” then preaching about how they’re against gendered insults and gendered violence. ones who ignore the fact aemma was subjected to a multitude of forced pregnancies with no respect to her own autonomy and even murdered at the behest of her husband to hype up her and viserys as a loving relationship (—which they aren’t. loving relationships can only occur when they have respect for the other person’s autonomy, to which viserys does not.) in fact aemma wasn’t even being told what was happening as he gave the okay for them to cut her open. i’m talking about the people who insult rhaenyra for going through a traumatic labour and being a victim of grooming since childhood. who don’t like to admit that alicent wanting to see joffrey just after birth was cruel (even if she had the option to let someone else take him - mothers do not like separation from their newborns and you can’t fault her for that). i mean the people who refuse to admit helaena’s emotional torture and later suicide was not an event of misogyny or the ones who try and say she and her children deserved it. who refuse to admit laena’s death was a hyper violent and unnecessary change. the people who insult and dismiss baela. who ignore rhaena almost entirely. the people who are so threatened by the mere existence of nettles that they use racist rhetoric and misogyny. like none of that is feminist behaviour in the slightest, and i’ve seen it on both sides of the fandom and it needs to stop. there’s a bad case of “misogyny is bad only when it’s against characters i like” in this fandom and it needs to be addressed
