Book Series Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

As of this date, I have read all 12 books a Tween book series titled “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. The author of this series is Jeff Kinney.

I got into reading this book (at almost age 30) mostly due to the reason to just up my book reading count for the year. Although, I have to say that the illustrations of the book quite appealed to me. I liked the illustrations and the font used since it’s the “diary” of the main character Greg or Gregory, it shows a hand-written like the font and somewhat like stick figures for drawings to show what Gregory has experienced to support his writings on his diary. 

Out of all 12 books, I had only really liked one of them enough. The book, “The Long Haul has made me laugh. It was the only book in the series that made me laugh, actually. For me, I think Greg, who is in middle-school is an annoying jerk. Maybe I’m too old for this kind of books and don’t really get the humor in it anymore but as I have said, I read this series to up my reading book count. It might be more appealing to 10-12 year olds but thinking about how Greg can be a role model to these “tweens” might not be a good idea. Also, I do hope that middle schoolers nowadays aren’t anything like Greg.

2018, yes 2018

I started using planners in 2015 when my sister gave me a Starbucks Planner for Christmas the year before. Since then, I use a planner for ever year. I usually buy planners that I am interested to use in National Book Store. I have used the Doodle Planner from Filed! For 2016 and the Focus Journal for this year, 2017. As for 2018, I have decided to be a little stingy and use the notebook that I’m supposed to be using as my journal (but rarely write on it).

I bought this notebook at National Book Store in late 2015 to be used as my journal but since it still has so many blank pages, might as well use it for other purposes. I love the design. It shows a cute melancholic girl and dark red/maroon color on the cover.

For 2018, I am DIYing my planner. Purely done by me (except the notebook itself though!)

I used watercolor for this and a fine liner pen over watercolor. I am currently trying to figure out what design I should do. *What to do? What to do?*

And yes, it is still only early November 2017 as of now and I’m already designing my 2018 planner and planning for 2018. I am that kind of girl.

Carmex  Classic Moisturising Lip Balm

An important lip product a makeup artist (or anyone!) should keep in her toolkit (or bag!) is a lip balm! I prefer to use Camex’s Lip balm because it’s so cooling to the lips and does it’s job well. No dry or cracked lips there! It also tremedously helps keep your lipstick at it’s best when applied to the lips.

I also prefer the one’s packaged in a pot rather than the stick, that way, it’s more sanitary even to use on clients since I am able to scoop out an ample amount using a spatula and apply it to my client’s (and mine) lips to prep for lip products.

I believe this really does last long and saves your lips from being dry as Carmex claims.

Beauty Formulas’ Tea Tree Line

I mostly only use products that are natural and not made up of so many chemicals. I am obssessed with those kinds of products! 

Atleast once a week, I use Beauty Formulas’ Tea Tree Line as part of my haircare and skincare routine.

Tea Tree Deep Cleasning Shampoo - To cleanse my hair of any other residues of chemicals out of my hair. I feel like my hair feels so clean and light and absolutely free of chemicals whenever I use this.

Tea Tree Deep Nourishing Conditioner -  Of course, it is best to use a conditioner that is made for your shampoo. This gives my hair extra nourishment that it needs after removing chemicals and dirt after I use the Deep Cleasnsing Shampoo.

Tea Tree Deep Cleansing Facial Mask - I use this once a week. This really feels good to use after a day of wearing a lot of facial makeup. It is so soothing and it feels cool and great on the face! I leave it on for atleast 10 mins or until it dries completely then just wash it off with water.

L’oreal True Match Liquid Foundation in F2 Rose Porcelain

Out of all the L’oreal True Match Liquid Foundation that I have, I believe this suites me the best among them.

Etude House BB Magic Pact in 02 Natural Beige

This is currently the only compact that I have in my makeup kit. I use this on clients and I’m satisfied with its performance.

Pretty Compact!

This is the only Blushes that I have! But! I survive with it and it’s enough...for now. *wink* I will be sharing with you here the swatches of this versatile palette.

Toners

One of the important skin care product that is majorly supposed to be part of one’s skin care regimen is Toner. One must not skimp on Toner as it is eually important as Cleansers and Moisturizers.

I currently have 2 toners in my makeup kit that I use on clients.

First, Let me talk about Neutrogena’s Alcohol-Free Toner. Personally, I have been using this for years even before my Makeup Artist days. I love this since it’s gentle on my skin and is not drying. Being Alcohol Free is a major plus too! It doesn’t have a bad odor of alcohol or any odor at all. Mine is almost gone so I’m trying another.

Next, I’m going to try Gluta-C’s Moringa-O Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner, I tried this myself and I’m quite satisfied with it. This will be my next personal toner after I finish the current one that I have. It’s alcohol free as well! So, yey!

Foundations

As I have mentioned/posted in my previous post regarding my Shiny Shimmery Splendid Makeup Traincase, I will be posting a “picture tour” on what’s inside of it.

Let us start of with the Foundations that I have. 

As of present, I have and use the L’oreal True Match Liquid Foundations in shades: G1 Gold Ivory, F1 Rose Ivory, F2 Rose PorcelaineN3 Nude Vanilla, and N7 Nude Ambre.

To be honest, As much as possible, I do not like mixing foundations because I suck at achieving the right shade so I feel like it’s such a waste of product in my case. Thus, I try to get as many discounted or 2nd hand ones in various FB sale groups.

I love that this foundation somewhat adds glow to one’s skin due to that it has some litte glitters within it’s formula. It’s easy to blend too! The coverage of this the L’oreal True Match Liquid Foundation is excellent. I love the packaging too! It shows off the color of thr product well with it’s little shiny glittery particles. It’s very sanitary as well due to it’s pump system.

Meet My Shiny Shimmery Splendid

My Makeup Traincase! I bring this whenever I shoot for clients/friends. This houses most the makeup and skin care and tools that I use for what I call my “rakets” or side business. I do have another “case that I also bring but I will get into that later. It might surprise you… or not. 

Anyway..

I got this case from a brand called “Suesh” *click on it to visit their website and buy on impulse their wonderful stuff! I love it’s pink, shiny and glittery gold look! So Elle Woods of Legally Blonde, right? 

I will soon put up a “picture tour” of what’s inside of it since I’m still waiting for stuff to arrive before I actually shoot for that entry.

Lacking

I know I have been lacking updates here and I have just revied my tumblr just recently.

Just a life update for you guys:

- I have been busy with this just I am applying for this job that I would love to have and do and have been adjusting my time to the employers sudden many interviews. 

- I also had some laptop problem so I had to get it fixed. I am also trying to re-learn photoshop so I could produce acceptable material for this blog (howver no prgress yet on this part. 

- My memory card where I have shot many material for my upcoming blogposts is kinda missing in action right now. 

- I am also an online seller of my preloved  in FB groups and OLX to help me have income while I am in my jobless state so that has been keepinh me busy.

- Family stuff/ House stuff --- It never ends!!! Don’t you feel this too? Comment down below about what you feel about house and family life!
